Has anyone else checked out these bios? It's really weird to me how they try and shape history some times.
The Macho Man was crazy and felt very anti macho man. Why was Hogan on here? He always comes off as the biggest and most jealous Macho man mark (I think Hogan beat Savage every time for the title except the times Flair did).
The HBK one has me starting to support the conspiracy theories he never really injured his back and sat at home getting paid by WWE so he couldn't go to WCW. He obviously was going in the background since he married a nitro girl. As soon as WCW dies he can wrestle again, really?
History written by winners or those loyal to the winners I guess...

Yeah that's not correct. He was really injured, he had back surgery, he didn't come back until 15 months after WCW folded, etc. It's really incredible to me when people float that. He even said in the doc that wrestling was all he had in his life. When he came back it was more gradual than people remember.
The doc's have been uneven. Most of them have left some of the personal things out. Austin has been married 3 times, but they only mentioned one wife, and never brought up the domestic violence with Debra. Shawn was married earlier but they didn't mention his first wife. Booker T had another wife but they left that out. Meanwhile the Savage biography brought all this personal stuff up. And wow, he did steroids. The only one of them they've profiled that did that...wink. I think this week we're going to get two different takes on Ultimate Warrior between A&E and Dark side of the Ring.

Why was Hogan involved in the Savage doc? My unbiased answer is that he was a major part of the story, both in the ring and away from it. You know going in that Hulk will be Hulk though, so his views may not be the most reliable or factual. But Bubba The Celebrity Sponge has no right being around anything related to Savage or really much of anything at this point and the ex-girlfriend got a way oversized amount of time and attention for the very brief period she was with Savage and clearly had a grudge. When people actually involved in the thing (specifically Eric Bischoff) say they are embarrassed about participating after seeing the finished product, there's a problem. It seemed to me that the person who put this together had a negative narrative they wanted to craft and gave the people who would carry that storyline a greater portion of TV time than their overall importance in the Macho Man story would necessitate.
The others have mostly stuck to wrestling and brief background/flavor of the personal life. Generally the tone has been far more positive. Shawn I did not watch because I have no interest in the subject, and Foley will be a skip as well, but what I have seen has been decent fare as far as entertainment to the wider audience.

The Warrior bio completely left out his short time in WCW, which they could have given at least 10 seconds but it is what it is. I still enjoyed it, and have no idea how the Dark Side one will turn out.
