Shame that unless they break out of their cheapness habit, the Las Vegas team will probably be pretty bad for a while.

Wait ... the Philadelphia Athletics play in Oakland?! I thought they were moving to Kansas City. What does Connie Mack have to say about this? 😲⚾ He was about to let us know but his telegraph message just stopped suddenly. We think the lines are down somewhere.

Truly sad. What used to be a great sports town looks like it will soon be a sports ghost town.

Although I definitely would not expect them to start spending like the Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, or Padres, I really do believe the As in a new stadium would spend more then they did in Oakland.

Truly sad. What used to be a great sports town looks like it will soon be a sports ghost town. Yeah, although the team has been trying to get a new ballpark in Oakland for the past 3 decades and they definitely need a new venue (worst MLB venue I have attended and I have been to 24 MLB stadiums) and their current location is not very safe (my friend went to a game there in 2010 and he actually had a gun pulled on him near the stadium,) I feel bad for the fans in Oakland. While I would attend Las Vegas As games, I also would have been perfectly fine just having our local AAA team (who ironically is the AAA team for the As.) Speaking of our local AAA team, I am actually going to next Saturday night's game because it is Star Wars Night at the ballpark.

Speaking of our local AAA team, I am actually going to next Saturday night's game because it is Star Wars Night at the ballpark. I've heard that the Oakland Coliseum is in pretty rough shape. I remember hearing about it becoming a LITERAL cesspool a few years back when the sewage backed up and flooded the A's clubhouse. That's unfortunate about what happened to your friend. I hope he wasn't hurt in that altercation. Wow, 24 stadiums! That's 22 more than I've been to; I've seen games at Rogers Centre and Petco Park, which is a beautiful stadium. Out of curiosity what's the best ballpark you've been to? Our minor league team, the Vancouver Canadians, used to be a Class-A affiliate of the A's from 2000-2010. Since then the Canadians have been partnered up with the Blue Jays although we nearly became an affiliate of the Athletics again during the recent minor league restructuring. However, the Premier of British Columbia made a few phone calls and let the people in charge know how much the Blue Jays connection meant to the people of this city. Those phone calls worked and in addition to that we are now in the High Level Class-A league as opposed to the Short Season designation we had before. I'll likely start going to games in a few weeks once the weather improves here. Have fun at next Saturday's game; that Star Wars theme sounds pretty cool!😎

The Padres get an honorable mention. The Cardinals home of St. Louis IMO is one of the best baseball cities I have been to. Vancouver is a great city. I was excited when they got the Grizzlies in the NBA as I was hoping for a great rivalry with my Sonics (like we had with the Blazers in Portland,) but instead both of our cities lost their teams which is why I sympathize with Oakland As fans.
