IPW (Indies Prime Wrestling)
PPV #2 - Summer Blast (August 1, 2021)
Ian Riccaboni welcomes viewers to this Summer Blast pay-per-view, which features six big matches! Let's head to the ring for a return grudge match in the women's division...
Thunder Rosa (with Miranda Gordy & Penelope Ford) defeats Courtney Rush (with Karlee Perez & Su Yung)
Rush pulled out all of the stops in this one, including her signature blue mist, but she just couldn't put Rosa away despite racking up seven fatigue tokens against her. Rosa fought back, overcame Perez's distraction outside the ring, and finally beat Rush with a La Rosa Driver. Impressive win for one of the IPW's most popular performers!
Logan Black (with Karlee Perez) defeats Willie Mack
Black won this close, back and forth match with a scoop brainbuster. This upset will move him further up the singles rankings, while Mack's slide from the #1 contender spot continues.
Maria Manic wins by DQ over Mercedes Martinez (with Thunder Rosa)
Martinez, the IPW women's champion, retained her belt despite losing this one by DQ when she became frustrated with Manic and hit her with a chair outside the ring. The match was too close to call before that, so a rematch is surely in order in the future.
Jody Fleisch defeats Benjamin Carter
Fleisch retained his IPW cruiserweight title after appearing to be in trouble. He turned the match around with a wall run and then hit a 720 DDT for the win. The cruiserweight division continues to provide great matches!
Massage NV (Dorian Graves & VsK) defeats Alexander Hammerstone & P.J. Hawx
The enigmatic tag team champs retained their belts when Graves beat Hawx with a tornado DDT. Fans appreciate their tag team moves, but they're still a little creeped out by the team's frequent mid-match massaging of opponents.
Killer Kross (with Karlee Perez) defeats Martin Casaus (with Salina de la Renta)
Perez and de la Renta have been throwing some shade at each other in the leadup to this match, and they got into a finger-pointing disagreement during the opening introductions. But no blows were exchanged, and when things calmed down, IPW heavyweight champion Killer Kross quickly dispatched of Casaus with a Doomsday Saito to retain his belt.
As mentioned in my previous post, the IPW will now be moving to a monthly schedule, so look for the next PPV some time in late August or early September. Who will be Killer Kross's next challenger? Will Sammy Guevara get a chance to regain the cruiserweight belt? What's next for Alexander Hammerstone? Who will be the next star to make their IPW debut? These are just a few of the unanswered questions as the IPW moves into a new phase.
