The Ortons draw #6 and will face the Daltons

All the teams have a photo op face to face with the team they are facing when a fight breaks out. BG James and Eddie Gilbert, who accompanied their families, begin to brawl and an impromptu match begins...

Brian Armstrong w/ Bob & Brad Armstrong d. Eddie Gilbert w/ Tommy & Doug Gilbert

The fans were treated to an unplanned match as the festivities kicked off. Gilbert dominated the majority of this match. As Tommy & Dough distracted the referee Gilbert would hit Brian with an illegal object. Brian was busted open. Tired of Eddie's illegal tactics, Bob & Brad attack Tommy & Doug and they brawl outside the ring. Eddie seeing the referee is distracted again uses and illegal object but Teddy Long, who was at ringside still, saw this and grabbed Eddie's hand just in time for the referee to turn around and see the object in Eddie's hand and call for the bell. (Armstrong accumalated 8 tokens and Gilbert 1 token)

The Smiths d. The Poffos by pinfall

The first match of the tournament was an exciting one. The Smiths controlled this match with big powerful moves that kept the Poffos grounded. The end sees Davey Boy Smith Sr pin Angelo Poffo after a Delayed Vertical Suplex. After the bell Randy Savage runs out of the backstage area and nails both Smiths with chairs. The Poffos recover and all 3 Poffo family members beat up on the Smiths. Suddenly Dynamite Kid and Lance Hoyt come from the backstage area and run the Poffos from the ring. The Smiths win but maybe badly beaten going into round 2.

Competitive match between these two teams as they both took turns controlling the match. The end sees Ted lock Conway Jr in a figure four leglock. As Mike distracts the referee Ted grabs the ropes for more leverage. A frustrated Conway Sr runs to make the save but is stopped by the referee. As the referee pushes Conway Sr bck to his corner Mike climbs the ropes and nails Conway Jr, who was still in the figure four leglock, with a Top Rope Knee Drop. Ted releases the figure four leglock and goes for the pin and win

This match was more competitive than most thought it would be. The Hennigs controlled early working on Chaz. Once Chaz found an opening and tagged in Tugboat things turned around for the Taylor and the match was hotly contested through out. A wild brawl erupted outside the ring between Curt and Tugboat. Chaz was distracted as he tried to come to the rescue of Tugboat only tu turn around and be nailed by Larry with the Axe for the finish

Wild match. The end comes as the referee gets hit and goes down hard. Tully has Bill pinned but no referee to count. Joe attempts to get the referee back to his feet. As this is happening Jaime runs to the ring with a hubcap and smashes Tully. The referee regroups just in time for Bill to nail Tully with a Superstar Bomb, as Jaime smahes Joe with the hubcap, for the win.
