Frank Gotch and Jack Brisco bested History's Greatest Team when Brisco forced Vampiro to submit to the Figure Four Leglock. Styles nearly had Gotch at several points but a pin save by Brisco turned it around. Eventually, Vampiro tried to take it with Nail in the Coffin only for Brisco to make a perfect save. From there, Gotch came back with the Gotch Toe Hold and then tagged in Brisco who quickly clamped on the Figure Four Leglock. Styles attacked Gotch instead of trying to make the save and the two brawled to the back.
Randy Savage squashed Doug Gilbert with the Flying Elbow Drop. Gilbert got in a few shots but mostly this was Savage until he hit the flying ax handle and then big elbow to win.
Jimmy Snuka pinned Adrian Adonis after a backbreaker. Snuka used a whip into Jimmy Hart to catch Adonis with a backbreaker for the three count. After the match, Roddy Piper came into the ring and smashed Snuka with a coconut before locking him in the Sleeper. Officials finally broke it up after the damage was done.
While the British Bulldogs provided security, Midnight Express defeated Monster Mafia when Eaton pinned Albano after a Condrey suplex onto Eaton's knee to capture the World Tag Team Titles. Monster Mafia tossed Eaton around for a while and nearly had it after a Sicilian Slam but Eaton managed to come back and Condrey quickly caught Albano. From there, an Alabama Jam, a Double Goozle and then the Dark Side finished things off.

Hmmmmm... Looks like it took constant run-ins by Brisco to cheat Styles & Vampiro from achieving a well deserved victory... All Gotch managed was to spend the majority of that match staring up at the lights... HGT FOREVER!

Mornin TTX me bro! Tantalizing stuff all over the place. I get tickled to read match results about my man Bob Backlund now in this game. Really enjoyed the Monster Mafia - wonder if they will add any made men into the fold. I would also like to order a History's Greatest Tag Team Shirt (3x). I think you've started a movement - Bravissimo! What would the back of the shirt say brother Pariah? How bout "This Will...Hurt A Bit...But It Will Be PHENOMENAL!" Lol. Frank Gotch still has the title! Exponential Outrageousness!!!!! The Midnight's better sleep in shifts. But I get the feeling Gotch doesn't sleep at all. Rockin stuff my friend.

I'm pretty sure like Tom Brady that Frank Gotch is secretly an android and speaking of Bob Backlund, he'll be having another match here soon.

In a #1 contenders tournament match, Killer Bees surprised The Powers of Pain with a double toehold on Warlord. The Powers of Pain dominated nearly the whole match until Brunzell escaped a knee lift and then tagged in Blair and hitting the double toehold. Warlord was so stunned Blair took the pin.
In a #1 contenders tournament match, The Sheepherders held off The Dads when Butch pinned Blanchard after the Double Gutbuster. Luke was in trouble for a while from Angelo. Joe tagged in and went for a move from the top rope but got slammed down by Luke who tagged in Butch and hit the Double Gutbuster for the victory.
In a #1 contenders tournament match, The Briscos bested History's Greatest Team when Jack once again forced Vampiro to submit to the Figure Four Leglock. Styles took a beating and became mostly a non-factor after that. Vampiro nearly had Jerry after a power bomb but the Briscos came back and Jack locked on the Figure Four. Styles couldn't make the save and Vampiro submitted.
In a #1 contenders tournament match, The Ortons easily handled The Armstrongs after a kneeling neckbreaker on Brad. Bob got in a few solid shots but Brad never could solve the Orton issue and eventually fell after missing a turnbuckle charge on Sr. who hit some knee smashes before tagging in Jr. who finished him off.
In a six man tag match Bob Backlund and The Submission Specialists (Frank Gotch and Dan Severn) crushed Shane Douglas and The Monster Mafia when Backlund used the Crossface Chicken Wing to force Douglas to submit. Monsoon and Albano's entire involvement in the match was a failed pin save as Douglas insisted on starting and looked good for a bit until he tried to slap Backlund. From there, the faces destroyed him until Backlund locked in the Chicken Wing. Gotch easily disposed of Albano and Severn hooked Monsoon's arm to stop him forcing Shane to quit.

In a #1 contenders tournament match, The Road Warriors crushed The Troublemakers when Animal pinned Costa after the Doomsday Device. Dalton and Costa got in a few solid shots but eventually the Road Warriors turned it up and bounced Costa all around the ring and smashed him with the Doomsday Device.
In a #1 contenders tournament match, The Quebecers put away The American Males when Pierree pinned Riggs after a second Tower of Quebec. The American Males hung around for a while especially thanks to Bagwell's agility but in the end, Jacques and Pierre hit several double teams to win.
In a #1 contenders tournament match, The Barroom Brawlers put away The Longriders when Crusher pinned Scott after the Crusher Bolo after Bill accidentally kicked his brother. The Brawlers dominated most of the match and a late pin save ended up costing the Riders as Bill accidentally hit his brother. From there, Crusher tossed Bill to the floor and used the Bolo to win.
In a #1 contenders tournament match, Monster Mafia bested Too Cool when Monsoon pinned Taylor after the Manchurian Landslide. Taylor almost pulled an upset with a sunset flip but in the end, a Sicilian Slam and two Landslides were too much for Taylor to take as Christopher made one save but couldn't make a second.
Ted DiBiase announced he had purchased the title shot to face Frank Gotch. AJ Styles was furious and tried to attack only to be leveled by King Kong Bundy. Styles was stretchered to the back.
Frank Gotch and Ted DiBiase wrestled to a no contest when Dan Severn, Bob Backlund, King Kong Bundy and Tully Blanchard all got involved. DiBiase nearly stole it late in the match with a flying ax handle but when Severn made a fake towards the ring, Blanchard jumped in and it went wild from there. Vampiro appeared during the brawl and said he and Styles weren't done with Gotch and Severn or DiBiase and Bundy yet either.

Very cool that my Quebecers were able to advance in the top contenders tourney... And I appreciate that you've really tried to push AJ & Vampiro... Just doesn't seem to be their time to shine at the moment... The ride continues!

I've had a lot of fun teaming them. They'd probably handle most midcard teams or less but they've been against top flight teams so far. They'll still be seeing some action.
Love the Quebecers even if they struggle a bit. Beating the Roadies will be a challenge but also a big feather in the cap if they can pull it off.

Excellent action all around. The tag team tournament is going great and in support of Pariah I am pulling for The Quebecers to take it.
