I have an opportunity to play now so I'm on the precipice of beginning the bouts on Card 2 and have been inspired (once again) by @aplex to try something new here, going to make my own picks before the matches start. The French Angel Maurice Tillet vs Chris Candido (With Tammy Lynn Sytch) (I think The French Angel will win, but I'm picking Candido & Sytch).2. The Loyalist vs Dick Hutton (I think Dick Hutton takes this).3. Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert vs Speedster (With Buster) (Picking Speedster even if Buster wasn't going to be involved).4. PSI vs A.R. Fox (I think PSI will take this one, but picking Fox). 5. Daizee Haze vs Sinful (I totally gotta go with Sinful here).
6. Carmilla Baroness of Blood vs Jessicka Havok (Carmilla is a vampiric hell on heels, and it's not often you come across a 2d6 finisher, but I'm so picking Jessicka Havok to win).7. Carlos Marin (aka The Dreadling) (With Cheech Marin & Tommy Chong) vs The Basilisk (Although Carlos is a foot taller and approximately 200 pounds heavier, I think The Basilisk wins this one, but go Carlos!).8. The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels vs Wolf (No matter who Wolf faces, ever, I'm picking him to win).9. The Osirians (Amasis & Ophidian) vs The All Night Express (Rhett Titus & Kenny King) (Tough one to call for me, but I'm pulling for The Osirians)10. The Kindred (Stephen DeArcher & Mallick DeArcher) vs The Machine (Blackjack Mulligan & Andre The Giant) (The Kindred and their 12th century vampiric power puts them in the tag ball park of Moog & Sentinel imo. But, neither one of their names is Andre. Picking The Machine).11. Strangler Lewis (With John Pesek) vs Monolith (With The Dark Menace) (Even with John Pesek in his corner, I doubt Strangler can take Monolith, especially since The Menace is involved too. Unless there's a sniper in the seats, Monolith takes this one).12. Unbreakable Michael Elign (WIth Truth Martini vs Lou Thesz (This is the match up that makes my palms sweat. I had been slowly (very slowly) tinkering with an idea like this for a while now and I have to say I'm quite happy with this format. I feel as I if I can hopefully get this settled in and ran for the long haul (even if it get's posted slowly). Mornin brother Pariah! Thanks very much for the kind words and jazzed that some of you're faves won their opening bouts. All of the competitors are vying for wins to be considered for the inaugural title bouts on the next MSG Card so there's a lot to shoot for. Including the prestige and power associated with becoming "The Lord of The Flies", which will also be revealed on each MSG show, as will every title defense. I did know you were a Steven King fan, I am too. I've read a few of his novels with The Stand being my fave yet to date. Especially the re-released version with the extra what was it 200-300 pages or so? I feel as though with this storyline or setting of "art intimidates live" or something to that effect, there's some stories there to tell. The idea is as this goes forward, everybody slowly get's drawn into the chessboard, including the rosters little by little. Thanks very much for those kind words bro! |

When Little Beaver saw the names...Beav's thick porcelain cup full of coffee unconsciously slipped out of his hand...and shattered on the floor...spilling coffee everywhere...
Some...who at first had only found the second name to be merely curious...were now alarmed by the expression on Beav's face...
Aside from the sound of Sky Low Low walking across the top of the large table in the center of the room...in order to somberly get the bottle of Southern Comfort that Strangler had brought down...the room was now completely silent...but for the following in the background:

The brilliant madness of Bri is back and we wouldn't have it any other way. A very enjoyable start to your new fed I must say. Michael Elgin over Lou Thesz was huge and like you my palms would have been sweating rolling out that one. It looked like Thesz should have won it but the timely interference by Martini saved Elgin. |
