Gordon Solie and Roddy Piper open up the show and let us know we are just 24-hours away from Heartbreak, live on pay-per-view from the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas… we’ll hear from Gorgeous George as he answers Bobo Brazil’s challenge from last week… “Cool” Curt Hennig is in action… the World Champion Rob Van Dam and his challenger Lou Thesz sign their World's Title contract… but for now, we head to the ring for tag team action.


Opening Match
“Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers & “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka defeat The Mulkey Brothers (Bill & Randy Mulkey) in 5:02 when Rogers forces Randy Mulkey to submit to the Figure-Four Grapevine
MATCH RATING: 1.50

Rogers and Snuka make their way to the podium as Gordon Solie awaits them… Rogers speaks for the team… “Baba. Destroyer. You’ve earned your shot at the World’s Tag Team Championship, but we still feel that we deserve a title match. So, Brody and Sandman, Giant Baba and Destroyer, we’ll be watching Heartbreak very closely and we’re not done hunting those titles”… Rogers and Snuka leave as Solie sends us to break.


When we come back from break, Roddy Piper is with J.J. Dillon and “Cool” Curt Hennig at the podium while Hennig’s opponent, George South waits in the ring… Dillon is less than pleased, “We have been wronged, Mr. Piper. One week ago, Curt Hennig had Lou Thesz beat when King Kong Bundy could no longer contain himself and attacked Thesz. This got Curt disqualified, which we protested. Commissioner Long’s response then was the same response we got later in the week, even though we have nothing to do with Bundy, it doesn’t matter. He’s even said we should take it up with Bundy if we have a problem. Now, not only is Curt denied his rightful World’s Title match, he’s not even on the card for Heartbreak. This will not stand, Long! Everyone needs to pay attention to this match, because George South, I am sorry, but an example must be made and everyone must know that this man, Curt Hennig, is the uncrowned World’s Heavyweight Champion.”

Gordon Solie is joined at the podium by Gorgeous George and his valet Cherie Dupre… Dupre sprays the area with perfume as Solie asks for a response to Brazil’s challenge from last week… “Mr. Solie, Bobo Brazil is a strong and tough man, I must give him that. However, he is not an elegant man. Please, don’t mistake me, I appreciate Mr. Brazil’s grappling skill and he is a man of fine character, but wrestling is an art and it is beautiful and it requires truly sophisticated and graceful man to show the art’s true beauty.”

The studio audience begins to cheer as Bobo Brazil, dressed in a nice suit, comes out and approaches the podium opposite of George… “I apologize for interrupting, but I just had to ask a question to George. I thank you for the kind words and I’ll return the compliment, you’re a great athlete and skilled wrestler. But, I got to know. Do you find cowardice beautiful?”

With that, Cherie Dupre tries to spray Brazil in the face with the perfume… but Brazil avoids the spray and pulls an aerosol can of air freshener from his back pocket and sprays the whole area, engaging George… “How DARE you?! If you wish for a true beating, Brazil, you’ve now earned it. I’ll see you in San Antonio!”… we go to break as George and Dupre leave, Brazil smiling, and Solie and Piper coughing furiously.

Gordon Solie tosses to a pre-tape of the contract signing for the World’s Heavyweight Championship match at Heartbreak… we see Commissioner Teddy Long sitting at the head of the table in a conference room… to his right is Lou Thesz, dressed in a fine suit, and to his left is Rob Van Dam, in a “Whole F’n Show” t-shirt, and Bill Alfonzo… standing behind Long, from left-to-right and all in suits, are Harley Race, Jim Crockett Jr., Stanley Blackburn, Cary Silken, Don Owens, and William Corrigan… Long addresses the camera, “Ladies and gentlemen, we are here to make official the World’s Heavyweight Championship match at LWF Heartbreak at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas on February 16th between the Challenger, Lou Thesz, and the World’s Heavyweight Champion, Rob Van Dam.”

Long now addresses the competitors, “Gentlemen, you and your representatives have had the chance to review the contract and all the terms have been agreed to. Mr. Thesz, if you’d please”… the contract is passed over to Thesz, who signs and then says, “Rob Van Dam, you are an incredible athlete. Your style of wrestling isn’t to my taste, but there’s no denying it’s effective and you’re a master at it. You’ve got one on me right now. I know it’ll be tough, but I intend to even the count and take the World’s Championship.”

The contract is passed over to Rob Van Dam… Alfonzo looks over the contract and nods, then RVD signs and speaks, “Mr. Thesz, I’m a laid back dude, but I like that you don’t mistake that for not caring or being lazy. I just go with the flow, man. And I’ll tell you, I was a little intimidated when we first hooked it up. But now, I’ve beat you. I know I can beat you. It won’t be an easy night, but I’m not leaving Texas without this belt.”

RVD passes the contract to Long, makes it official with his signature, “Gentlemen, we’re on”… Thesz and RVD both stand… RVD extends his hand first and Thesz gives it a hardy shake as we go back to the studio for our TV main event.


Main Event
Killer Kowalski forces Al Snow to submit to the Kowalski Claw in 8:13
MATCH RATING: 2.00

Kowalski looks into the camera and smiles, saying "I'll be watching, Thesz, and I'm not the only one" as we go off-the-air.

Lou Thesz defeats World's Heavyweight Champion "The Whole F'n Show" Rob Van Dam (w/ Bill Alfonzo) in straight falls, one with the Thesz Press and one a Greco-Roman backdrop, in 25:56 to capture the World's Heavyweight Championship

Rob Van Dam takes the championship belt and hands it to Lou Thesz himself, extending his hand to congratulate the new World's Champion... Thesz accepts the title and the handshake... Thesz takes in the adulations of the San Antonio crowd as RVD leaves... while the now former champ is heading up the aisle, Killer Kowalski comes out of the entrance and attacks RVD with a chair, leaving him laying...  Thesz goes to leave the ring and Kowalski backs off as officials come out to check on RVD... Kowalski never breaks eye contact with Thesz, smiling and shaking his head as we head off the air

Our March supercard event, Proving Ground, will host our first-ever Prove Yourself Gauntlet.  This match will feature eight young up-and-comers fighting it out for a spot on the LWF roster.  These eight elite competitors will earn their places over the next several weeks of Legendary TV in qualifying matches.  To determine these sixteen select athletes, I need your help!  Each week before the qualifying matches, we will open an online poll for you to determine the wrestlers in that week's matches.  Look for these polls coming soon and I can't wait to see who you want to see in LWF action!

Gordon Solie and Roddy Piper welcome us to this week's edition of Legendary TV... counting down to March 29th and Proving Ground on pay-per-view from the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis TN... this week we'll hear from the new World's Heavyweight Champion Lou Thesz... we'll see the first two Prove Yourself Gauntlet qualifiers... and we open with the ladies in action...


Opening Match
Leilani Kai forces Princess Victoria to submit to a boston crab in 4:07
MATCH RATING: 1.00

The Pan-Pacific Connection, The Destroyer and Giant Baba, come out to the podium... both are still bandaged from the Singapore Cane beating they received at Heartbreak from the World's Tag Team Champions... Gordon Solie asks The Destroyer about the attack and the DQ result... The Destroyer responds... "We thought better of Brody and The Sandman than this.  Both are violent men, we know this.  But, to think they'd resort to something like this"... The Destroyer shakes his head and Giant Baba speaks in measured tones, in Japanese... The Destroyer translates, "Brody and Sandman, you've insulted the titles you hold and the ring itself.  We will relieve you of the burden of those titles as soon as possible."


Prove Yourself Gauntlet Qualifier
"The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson forces "The Original Bro" Matt Riddle to submit to the LeBell Lock in 9:17
MATCH RATING: 2.50

Danielson and Riddle shake hands after the match and Danielson joins Roddy Piper at the podium... Piper asks how Danielson feels his chances will be in the Gauntlet... "Hot Rod, I'm not looking past the Gauntlet.  I want that clear.  But, I want it known right here, right now, I'm not here for a space on the LWF roster.  I'm here for the World's Heavyweight Championship, and, Mr. Thesz, it would be my honor to hook 'em up with you."


Gordon Solie is standing by with Killer Kowalski when we come back from break and Solie is curious about King Kong Bundy's absence... Kowalski says, "First things first.  Daniel, Bryan, whatever your name is, put Thesz out of your mind.  His dance card is full and any cut-ins will be handled with prejudice.  Next, Rob Van Dam, I hope you know your place in line now and it's not next.  Now, as for Bundy.  Couldn't get the job done against Thesz, couldn't get the job done against Race, we got know use for him.  He's done"... Solie questions, "We? Who is this we, Mr. Kowalski?"... Kowalski glares, "Too many questions, little man.  Bundy's done, Thesz will be done, and this interview is done."


Prove Yourself Gauntlet Qualifer
"The Cleaner" Kenny Omega pins "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels after The One-Winged Angel in 3:17
MATCH RATING: 1.50

Omega walks to the podium and demands an interview... Roddy Piper picks up a mic and Omega yells that he wants Solie... Piper looks annoyed as Solie takes the mic and steps to the podium... "I heard Danielson out hear earlier.  Dragon, I'd have beaten Riddle faster than I did Daniels.  It took you ten minutes and it would have taken me two.  So, my advice to you and anyone else between me and my road to LWF glory, stop now and safe yourself a beating from the best wrester in the world today.  Now, Gordon, the pleasure has been yours and I bid you all adieu."


Gordon Solie stands at the podium when we come back from commercial and welcomes out the new World's Heavyweight Champion Lou Thesz... Thesz, dressed in a fine suit and with the World's Championship belt held securely in his arm, says "Well, I've been Champion for less than a week and the line is forming.  Let's start at the top.  RVD, you are an incredible athlete and were a worthy champion.  You deserve a rematch and all you've got to do is ask.  We'll make it happen.  Bryan Danielson, the honor would be mine.  You are a young grappler after my own heart and I wish you the best in the Gauntlet.  Kenny Omega, this belt makes you the best wrestler in the world today and it belongs to me.  Don't you forget it.  Now, Kowalski, you said we.  That tells me you can't get the job done yourself or someone else is pulling the strings.  Doesn't matter to me.  Money, marbles, or chalk, my friend.  I'm the World's Heavyweight Champion and I will be for a long, long time.  Mr. Solie, thank you, sir."


Main Event
The Road Warriors defeat The Family when Hawk pins "Pretty Boy" Bobby Heenan after the Doomsday Device in 4:46

"The Sicilian" Lou Albano never even tried to tag in and leaves Heenan out in the ring as the Warriors celebrate and we go to black

RVD faces Killer Kowalski in our main event... and we'll hear from World's Tag Team Champions Bruiser Brody and The Sandman this week as well... now we get to the action...

Prove Yourself Gauntlet Qualifier
"The Prizefighter" Kevin Owens pins Timothy Thatcher after the Stunner in 5:14
MATCH RATING: 1.50

Kevin Owens joins Gordon Solie at the podium after his qualifying win... "Mr. Solie, it's an honor to be here with you and it's an honor to be chosen for this Prove Yourself match.  But let me tell you, I've been proving myself my entire career.  What I proven?  I'm a prizefighter and I like the richest prizes.  A place on the LWF roster is a good start, but the World's Title is the ultimate.  And Mr. Solie... one leads to the other."

Candi Divine pins Tina Moretti after a clothesline in 10:13

As Gordon Solie goes to toss to commercial break, "Pretty Boy" Bobby Heenan storms to the podium hot... he snatches a microphone while Solie gets into position... Heenan doesn't wait... "Albano!  I thought we were partners, but the second you saw those overgrown muscleheads Hawk and Animal beating the hell out of me, you bolted.  Now, I'm not unreasonable, Lou.  If you got a reason, some justification for leaving me out to dry, I'll listen.  You got a week.  If not, Albano, don't make an enemy out of me."


Prove Yourself Gauntlet Qualifer
"The Ring General" WALTER pins "The Mad King" Eddie Kingston after a slam on the apron in 4:59
MATCH RATING: 2.00

While Kingston recovers in the ring, WALTER makes his way to the podium as Roddy Piper comes up with the mic for an interview... "First, remove the filth from my ring..."  the referees and ringside attendants are not helping Eddie Kingston out quickly enough for "The Ring General's" liking... "NOW!  The mat is sacred and I will not have this street fighting filth staining it"... Kingston finally regains his senses and is helped out of the ring, favoring his back heavily... WALTER now continues... "Mr. Piper, this is called a Proving Yourself match.  I need to prove nothing.  I am a superior athlete, a superior grappler.  I seek the greatest challenge and the greatest trophy.  Lucky for me, they are in the same place.  Mr. Lou Thesz, I will enjoy destroying you for the World's Championship when our time on sacred ground comes."


We return from the break with the World's Tag Team Champions at the podium with Gordon Solie... The Sandman has a Singapore cane over one shoulder and his championship belt over the other while Bruiser Brody has his belt in hand as he speaks... "Baba, Destroyer, you thought better of us?  I doubt you thought at all.  If you did, you'd know what this sport is all about.  Money!  Not respect, not honor, money.  Now, this ain't personal, this is business and in this business, if you've got belts like these, you get paid a lot better.  You know how much beer my man here goes through in a week?!  Money, boys, plain and simple, and nothing stands between us and our money.  If you get another shot at these, we'll teach you that lesson again."

Main Event
"The Whole F'n Show" Rob Van Dam (w/ Bill Alfonzo) pins Killer Kowlaski with the Five-Star Frog Splash in 11:58

As the match ends, a man can be seen in the shadows of the studio curtains, his identity obscured... Kowalski sees him as he roles out of the ring and the cameras catch him turning pale as RVD celebrates, oblivious to the presence of this unknown individual
