So many years ago. I thought the Heenan line actually fit.

I was shocked to find out that Heenan’s line “Whose side is he on!?” is controversial with today’s fans. Some of them actually call it a horrible call saying he spoiled it. I can only assume that is the younger generation and not anybody who grew up on WWF wrestling. For me it is one of the greatest lines in history, because the culmination of the entire Hogan vs Heenan exploded in that moment. Years and years of Heenan warning wrestling fans of Hogan and there it was. Absolutely beautiful and nothing we will ever see again. Exactly. Back then it was "oh here goes Heenan again" only this time, he was right!!! No one really thought he was with The Outsiders. But Bobby saying that, then Hogan turning, set up the paranoia that plagued WCW for the next few months. That involves the uncertainty of Sting.

Yeah, that's newer fans over thinking stuff (imagine). For the time, like you guys say, it was perfect Bobby Heenan always doubting Hogan. In fact, you'd almost be suspicious if he didn't say something like that.

Yeah, that's newer fans over thinking stuff (imagine). For the time, like you guys say, it was perfect Bobby Heenan always doubting Hogan. In fact, you'd almost be suspicious if he didn't say something like that. Exactly. Just because Heenan works for & supports WCW against these "Outsiders from another Federation", doesn't mean he'll suddenly change his opinion about Hogan and say, "Oh, goody! Look who's here! It's our hero Hulk Hogan coming to save the day again!" That would sound disingenuous. My favorite line of the night is when Gene Okerlund interviewed Hogan after the match, and fans were throwing trash in the ring. Something hit Okerlund(it may have cut him), and Mean Gene said, "You did this to me, Hulk Hogan!" This showed how personally betrayed Gene was by his long-time friend(or was Hogan only pretending to be his friend all these years?) Damn it, Heenan was right! That's why he's "The Brain"!

Now you all got me overthinking/rebooking. I still think the way they did things were perfect but it would have been cool if Hogan WAS the savior...at first. Eventually Heenan gets on his side as he sees Hogan as protecting WCW from the invaders. Then soon after Hogan turns and seeing Heenan go nuts lol.
