Gonna hold off on the Fabs for a proper debut though. Anyone else have plans for these cards right off the bat? Which ones? Poffo and Moondogs will be going to my Golden State Wrestling (WWF-style) fed. Midnight Express will probably be leaving Golden State Wrestling and break up in their current incarnation (Lane & Eaton) and the Fabs will form in my Memphis fed. Dundee, Mantell, Idol, possibly Smothers will join the Memphis fed as well. When the Jimmy Hart wrestling card gets announced (🤞I'm thinking positive) he may actually leave Golden State Wrestling and head to Memphis for a spell. PG-13 I don't really have a use for (glad they have cards, though). I don't have plans for Brickhouse Brown but saw he wrestled in Portland. I may make a small Portland fed and put him in there.

How can I say this in the most diplomatic way possible...? No matter how I say it, I know I'm going to get FLAMED - so here goes. This right here is what sets the COTG universe apart from the LOW universe. We haven't even got the Memphis set in hand yet and talk has already started about WHAT'S NEXT or possible future themes and names. It seems to me; you can never really enjoy what you have now if you're always looking ahead to what's next. Let the pile on start, I'm ready. I don't want to flame anyone, but these two things aren't mutually exclusive. What follows will be lengthy, so apologies in advance. Skip to the end for the summation. I think the "what's coming next" mentality may be driven in part by the desire for that one (or two, or twelve, or whatever) wrestler(s) we love but haven't gotten yet. When I get a new set, I devour it, and enjoy it very much, but I have an instinctive urge to say, "Man, I really want the Hart Foundation." And that gets me speculating... "What if they put out a Canadian Wrestling set?" I mean, many people would probably want Bret Hart, but you could also toss in Rick Martel, Pat Patterson, the Fabulous Rougeau Brothers (even though they are All-American Boys), and probably a bunch more that aren't coming to my mind right now. Non-Canadian examples for me include Arn Anderson, Mike Rotundo/a (though we do have an awesome bootleg of him), Wayne Bloom & Mike Enos, Rod Price, John Tatum, and so on. I think another part is the "I wish" sentiment that sometimes comes with a set. When the Portland Four-Pack was announced, my first thought was, "Wow--they have to have Billy Jack Haynes!" But the four-pack came out (and it was awesome)...and no Billy Jack. So people (including me) may begin speculating about what comes next, not necessarily because they are "let down" by a set, but because there seems to have been an obvious hole in a set (and please don't take that as an indictment of the great wrestlers the team has signed to the game...they outdo themselves with every set), and we want it filled. Examples for me related to the Memphis set: Jeff Jarrett, Jerry Lawler. Finally, I think each set automatically generates some sort of buzz for the next release. When we got Bob Backlund and Kurt Angle--in the same freaking set--it's only natural for one to say, "WOW! How are they ever going to top this?" Or, if a set is a let down to someone in terms of, say, star power or name recognition or what have you, that will also generate conversation about what might be next in the pipeline. Example: I did not grow up with exposure to the Memphis area (I'm a northern boy from New York), so this set is of less interest to me than it might be to someone who grew up in the area, or religiously followed the area, or has gone through YouTube or Peacock (or wherever) to watch all the episodes of Memphis Wrestling that he or she missed, or is a general wrestling historian, or whatever. That doesn't mean I'm not getting it (In fact, it has already been pre-ordered for me as a Christmas gift, thank you Slymm!), but I wonder what might come next and whether or not it would be more relevant to my exposure to wrestling. None of that means that I don't love each set as it comes out, and start making plans for the wrestlers I intend to use, and who will go into my "never use" pile, my "may use" pile, and my "do more research" pile, and how I will go about dealing with all of those. Each set is a new chapter in the unfolding history of my CWA (and I think the same could be said about the GWF/FTR/CWF/Kronos fans--can they speculate on the hints as to what may come next sprinkled throughout the booklet, and still enjoy the set AND the "What's next?" speculation? Of course they can!). I love each new release, and I am so grateful to Chad, Cory, Stu, Tim, and the rest of the Legends Team for everything they do!
Anyway, that's my two cents. (I feel like I should pay more like two dollars for all that!) The "TL;DR" (as the kids say) version is this: The sets rock so hard, we can't help but wonder what's next, and the same is probably true for the COTG universe as well as the LOW fans.

Thats why I cant run a promotion. I have too many cards I like, I mean just about all the LOW cards that come out I really like. I like thMemphis version. Havent gotten the new ones just yet did like the last version in B/W version. I fall into this trap ALL the time, if I used everyone that I like my fed would be 160 + ! I'd love to run a fed using just the wrestlers I remember, but I remember such a short period spanning 20 years that somehow Big Van Vader v Jimmy Sunka doesn't sit right with me. I'm funny like that. So I go with the most common denominator which appears to be the 1980s. Maybe one day I can have a WCW/WWF 1989-93 fed.

I'm picking it all up, regardless. Man, I love this game. We all love this game; the passion in this community is second to none. I have 35 years of picking up EVERYTHING Filsinger Games and won't be stopping any time soon. I don't believe my point is moot, in the fact that the speculation is in the MEMPHIS thread. If it was a thread about LOW WHAT'S NEXT, I'd buy it. I didn't say your point was moot. What I said was: "Personally, I buy everything LOW-branded and a whole lot of the Indies-themed stuff because I love the game and I am committed to supporting FG to the best of my ability so any speculation or daydreaming about wrestlers I'd love to get in a set is a moot point." Emphasis mine. No amount of speculation and discussion on this or any thread changes my perception or appreciation of the game, so to me, it is a moot point. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear enough on that. I am in no way trying to invalidate your point or your opinion, even though as I previously stated: I don't see the direction these threads go... because they all always go into speculation about the next/future sets... is in any way negative. I very rarely see anyone who ever says "This set sucks so I won't get it!" or express any similar level of distaste. At the end of the day, I am very satisfied with everything and everyone in the game. If I have any complaints, it's probably that there have been so many great additions to the game in the Color Era of LoW that I'm spoiled for choice. There are more awesome cards available for the game than I can adequately use. I don't have enough time to play with them all. And, really, I think that's a good thing. I'd much rather have too many great additions to the game than too few.

I am very fortunate to have refed Tracy Smothers match several years ago and got him to autograph his playing card. He was a super guy!

Toasterboy Saw you mentioned PG-13. I had a match with them against the Bulldogs and what an upset. PG got the win, it was a lengthy match very fun to play, but yes they won the match.
