I know this is totally not Memphis, but i want to team up Dutch Mantell and Stan Hansen 🙂 I'm toying with having a roughneck cowboy faction with Dutch, Hansen, Blackjack, and the Texas Hangmen.

I was actually brainstorming an "LA" expansion... A color Blassie and Tolos, Enrique Torres, Gordman and Goliath, Bearcat Wright, Judo Gene LeBell, Baron Michele Leone, Billy Varga, etc... Being from Indianapolis an Indianapolis set would be great. Indianapolis would also be great. Bruiser, Snyder, Blackjack Lanza (RIP), Moose Cholak... Well, since we're talking possible expansions, both LA and Indianapolis would be great, but how about Detroit Big Time Wrestling? We've already got Bobo Brazil, Pampero Firpo, and Wild Bull Curry, how about The Original Sheik, "The Money Man" Hank James, Flying Fred Curry, El Bracero, The California Hell's Angels, Lord Athol Layton.......the mind can dream

How can I say this in the most diplomatic way possible...? No matter how I say it, I know I'm going to get FLAMED - so here goes. This right here is what sets the COTG universe apart from the LOW universe. We haven't even got the Memphis set in hand yet and talk has already started about WHAT'S NEXT or possible future themes and names. It seems to me; you can never really enjoy what you have now if you're always looking ahead to what's next. Let the pile on start, I'm ready.

Are these guys stats going to fit them in with the other sets or will they be having bold stats to use "when in Memphis"?

There's never enough talk about the guys we have and how they are doing for speculation about who's next.

It seems to me; you can never really enjoy what you have now if you're always looking ahead to what's next. Let the pile on start, I'm ready. I don't know. I've never taken the "Wouldn't it be great if we get <inset name here> or <insert another name here>?" in any kind of negative context. To me, it just vibes as people fantasizing or being hopeful about seeing wrestlers or other cards that they love getting into the game and how excited they'd be about it. The negativity I see is when we have a name announced and we have promoters that see a card but don't want "this version of <wrestler> because of their own experiences and memories of that wrestler with a different gimmick they'd rather see. Even then, though, the negativity is never really that bad, is it? Lately, I've seen a lot of "this is my opinion but you're entitled to yours" and it doesn't seem that bad to me. Really, though, I hardly see the speculating and wistful discussions about the stuff some people would like to see in the future as bad in any way. These are people being passionate about wrestling and wrestlers they want to see and are excited by the prospects of it maybe eventually someday happening. Again, I don't see that as any kind of negativity but I personally like seeing the posts from people about how excited they are for the stuff that's coming. As for my own opinion, this Memphis set is one of the strongest I think I've ever seen and I'm quite thrilled we're getting it. I can kind of see your point, though.

It seems to me; you can never really enjoy what you have now if you're always looking ahead to what's next. Let the pile on start, I'm ready. I think that's just the nature of the beast. CotG doesn't get the same talk because it's fictional. I'm not a huge comic book guy, but I don't feel like people spend a lot of time talking and conjecturing about things like "I wonder what the next story arc is going to be...", it's just so open that it's impossible to conjecture on. But when you apply this to say comic based movies, you get all sorts of conjecture from the same group of people who don't conjecture about the actual comic arcs...because the stories that the movie is going to cover are already out there, they can be curated, talked about and weighed in interest and importance to the series or whatever. CotG is like an actual comic, where the "what's next" is literally endless. It can be whatever, it's not constrained by things that already exist or the rules of the known universe. It's truly open ended. LoW is like the comic based movie...everything that it's going to include is already out there and can be discussed. It's limited by the past and by the constraints of the world in which we live. It doesn't mean that people enjoy LoW less, just that it's easy to talk about what might be next. I don't doubt that with such a dedicated fan base, if it wasn't so up in the air, the CotG crowd would do it a lot more too. Just my .02 on the matter.

I hear both of you and understand where you're coming from. I guess the word I'm looking for is satisfied, it never seems the LOW community, not all, is satisfied with what they have. Hence, we are in the MEMPHIS set thread and talk has already begun for what's next. Speculation is fun, for sure, but not at the cost of not appreciating what you have.

For the record, I am both fully satisfied, and still looking forward with great anticipation for what will be next.

I feel like conflating talk about what might be coming down the pipeline, or what it would be cool to have at some point, with dissatisfaction is erroneous.
