The Southern Rockers held the Tag Titles a lot in PNW.
Maybe more the later Version,who also wrestled as Well Dunn later on.
Buddy Rose sounds also like a good guess.
Same for Dutch Savage.

He didn't say Patterson wasn't a big name. What was the implication about Buddy Ross being a big name in both places? Could we not infer that he did not believe Patterson was not a big name in the Pacific Northwest? All that to say, Patterson too was a big name in both places, but maybe the inverse of Rose. Rose was more known for his time in Portland whereas Patterson was more known for his time in San Francisco. Actually, no, i don't feel there was any implication or inference of the sort... his point was that PNW and San Francisco were completely different spots with some VERY heavy crossover... Patterson would def not be considered a big name in Portland, he would be considered a HUGE guest and fly by.... he was never a long term fixture even when having his title runs.... Rose and Mayne on the other hand traveled the circuits in both spots and spent huge amounts of time traveling the roads between (actually, the very roads that Mayne would be in the wreck that took his life)... Patterson would pop up to PNW for a short stint and leave again for long periods of time... Lonnie Mayne nd Buddy Rose (others to a lesser degree, but these 2 especially) would travel and run full, lengthy programs in both areas, often simultaneously I believe that's why it was stated that Rose was a huge name in both spots... Lonnie Mayne being the only other that truly fits that bill in the same way.... Just my take |

Makes sense. But again, this set did not say “only known” or “best known for” just that the wrestlers involved spent time in the territory.

I think I'd just be more shocked if Pat were signed than anything. Mind if he ever were, he and Ray would get to run wild in the tag ranks.

Right I would be be shocked as well, but were we not shocked by the Angle, Backlund, and Piper signings as well as Vader, and the Dynamite Kid? It would be a glorious signing and one that I would absolutely love. |
