In addition to my NJPW style COTG reboot fed (which you can see the results of here), I'm starting a companion LOW fed, which will be formatted as a territory in my home area of the gulf coast. I tend to pick up and put down COTG/LOW (or Filsinger games in general) on a whim so one or both of these feds may go awhile without an update, but I feel like I'm at a point where I have the formats down for both federations and as such I don't plan on any more reboots for a very, very long time. I've tried to get an LOW fed off the ground for quite some time but could never quite get a system together that I liked, I think this one will hit the spot so I'm excited to see where it goes.

My monthly format for Gulf Coast Wrestling will be to have an A and B town house show circuit, a TV taping, and a major arena show per month. That will be 4 cards that I roll but will represent 24 cards per month (the A and B arena shows will tour to the venues not hosting the TV Taping or the major arena show.)

The cities and venues are as follows, though this isn't necessarily the order the towns will be visited. I will also notate if something different happens at one of the touring shows than the others, as will happen from time to time, particularly with title changes which will only happen once and are not repeated at each stop on the loop:

GCW will have 2 TV shows:

Superstars of the Gulf Coast is the A show, which will carry the matches and angles leading to the house shows. Those episodes will air in each local market the week before and a few days prior to their event. In weeks when that market doesn't have an event coming up, there will be followups from that town's previous month's event, matches shown from the previous month's major arena event, and other matches from prior TV tapings with and angle tied in.

Gulf Coast Saturday Night is the B show, which airs in every market on Saturday Night regardless of arena schedule. It's hosted by Bobby Heenan and Gorilla Monsoon and matches shown are usually either TV Taping or major arena show matches that don't have angles associated, along with 1 main event match at the end. In between the matches Bobby and Gorilla update the audience on GCW happenings along with banter and skits. There is usually an in studio interview segment with a GCW wrestler, which normally will touch on or advance that wrestler's current angle or storyline.

Major Arena shows are, as mentioned, also taped and many of the matches there are aired on the two tv programs. The arena shows in their entirety are released on VHS at some point several months later and sold at the shows.

Card 1 was a tournament in Rio De Janeiro where the Macho Man Randy Savage was crowed GCW North American Heavyweight Champion, Curt Henning won the GCW Television title, and the Rock and Roll Express came away with the GCW Tag Team Titles.

Card 2
July, Year 1 TV Taping Baton Rouge Centroplex (7,967)

1. D-Lo Brown pinned Sam Houston after a Samoan drop flapjack

SEGMENT: Gorilla Monsoon announced we'll be seeing the GCW Tag Team Titles on the line tonight as the Rock and Roll Express defend against the Quebeccers. Bobby Heenan adds that the match will be fought under "Province of Quebec rules" which stipulate the titles can change hands on a disqualification or countout, that throwing an opponent off the top rope would result in a disqualification, coming off the top turnbuckle would result in a disqualification, and the use of a piledriver would result in a disqualification.

2. The British Bulldog squashed Disco Inferno via a RUNNING POWER SLAM

SEGMENT: Macho Man Randy Savage spoke with the British Bulldog backstage and asked him to be his tag team partner against Vader and Curt Henning in a series of matches around the territory. Bulldog accepted with honor.

3. Shane Douglas beat Marty Janetty via a piledriver

SEGMENT: After the match Shane was pressed on his underhanded tactics in the previous match by Gordon Solie. Douglas responded by getting physical with the announced, upon which Steve Corino debuted in GCW to break it up. Douglas became incensed and declared he would beat Corino's "skilly little ass" any time, any where.

4. The Rock and Roll Express has the Quebeccers on the ropes when Robert Gibson was disqualified for trying a Moonsault off the top rope. Though technically the move didn't come off the turnbuckcle, the referee declared is still violated the "Province of Quebec" rules and as such, the Quebeccers were declared the new GCW Tag Team Champions.

SEGMENT: The gleeful new tag team champions are interviewed by Gordon Solie post match, and declared they would not give the Rock and Roll Express a rematch for the GCW Tag Team Titles. This brought Commissioner Teddy Long to the podium, who decreed the Rock and Roll would get a rematch, playa, at the next major arena show at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi at the end of the month!

5. Rob Van Dam beat Barry Horwitz by count out

6. Vader beat Koko B Ware in a squash

7. The New Age Outlaws and the Heavenly Bodies went to a time limit draw. Post match, Stan Lane whacked Billy Gun over the back of the head with Jim Cornette's raquet

8. Fit Finlay pinned the Progressive Liberal Daniel Richards, who before that match started gave the crowd a lecture on Obamacare

SEGMENT: as Fit Finlay was headed back to the locker room, he was bumped by Tully Blanchard, who then glared at Finlay while heading out to the ring for his match.

9. Tully Blanchard pinned Hacksaw Jim Duggan

SEGMENT: Post match Tully Blanchard gave a promo about why he deserved a shot at Macho Man Randy Savage when he was sneak attacked by Fit Finlay as a receipt for the bump and glare earlier. The crowd loved it!

10. The Powers of Pain beat Pepper Parks and Cedric Alexander

Main Event

11. Curt Henning defended the GCW TV title and won by disqualification against Sandman when the challenger used his singapore cane in full view of the official. Despite the loss, he celebrated after with some 12 ounce curls in the ring.

1. Sam Houston upset D-Lo Brown with a cross body block to the delight of the crowd

2. Al Snow's match with Bruno Moretti got off to a fast start when the two brawled onto the floor during Gary Micheal Capetta's introduction, Snow battled but eventually got the pinfall win after a SMASH WITH HEAD

3. Rob Van Dam beat Danny Doring with a FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH

4. Don Muraco and Koko B Ware fought to a double disqualification after a wild brawl that ended in the stands

5. The Heavenly Bodies won via disqualification against the New Age Outlaws after Road Dogg Jesse James smashed Stan Lane over the head with a steel chair as a receipt after what happened on recent GCW television

6. Tully Blanchard grabbed the mic before his match with Fit Finlay to once again declare himself the man to challenge GCW North American Heavyweight Champion Macho Man Randy Savage. He put an exclamation point on that by beating Fit Finlay via Macho Man's signature elbow off the top rope.

7. In the Main Event, Heenan family members Vader and Curt Henning got the better of Macho Man Randy Savage and the British Bulldog when Bobby Heenan interference lead to a VADER BOMB pinfall win over Davey Boy.

1. Marty Janetty beat the Brooklyn Brawler

2. The match between Sandman and Disco Inferno spilled out of the ring and into the crowd before Sandman was disqualified, giving Disco the win. Despite the result, Sandman celebrated in the ring afterward with some 12 ounce curls to the delight of the fans

3. Progressive Liberal Daniel Richards lectured the crowd about abortion, which drew a LOT of heat, before Hacksaw Jim Duggan hit the ring for a easy pop and win

4. Pepper Parks and Cedric Alexander were disqualified against the Sheepherders when Cherry Bomb was caught interfering

5. In the Main Event, Steve Corino amassed a whopping 7 fatigue tokens and kept bringing the fight to Shane Douglas in a match that spilled out of the ring early and often, but he eventually succumbed to the PITTSBURGH PLUNGE

July Year 1 Arena Show Mississippi Coast Coliseum (9,820)

1. The Powers of Pain beat the Sheepherders via a POWER HEAD BUTT

2. Sam Houston beat D-Lo Brown via a cobra clutch

3. Steve Corino fought valiantly as he had in the shows leading up to this one, but Shane Douglas finally pinned him after a BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX

Segment: Gordon Solie interviewed Shane Douglas after his win over Steve Corino, Douglas derided Corino to boos. Corino hobbled to the podium. He said he took everything Douglas had but wouldn't stop coming & that Shane was a talented wrestler but a crappy person. Douglas aggressively slapped the injured Corino to the ground and stood over him before Francine convinced him to walk away...

4. The Quebeccers, defending their newly won GCW tag team titles under normal rules, attempted to do everything they could to get disqualified in their return match against the Rock and Roll Express. They even walked back to the dressing room at one point, until Gary Michael Cappetta announced that if they didn't return by a count of 10 they would forfeit the match and the titles! The champions just made it back in time. Later, Johnny Polo hopped on the ring apron, but was blasted by Ricky Morton, who then caught a flash pin for a quick 1-2-3 to regain the GCW Tag Team Championship!

5. Rob Van Dam beat Disco Inferno via a FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH

6. The New Age Outlaws seemingly had a win sewn up against the Heavenly Bodies, when Jim Cornette interference on a pinning opportunity led to a double team move and ultimte victory by the Smoky Mountain tag team

7. GCW Television champion Curt Henning got all he wanted and more from challenger Marty Jannetty. Only interference from Bobby Heenan prevented an upet win, and as it stood the match went to a time limit draw

8. Progressive Liberal Daniel Richards lectured the crowd about abortion, which drew a ton of heat, before Hacksaw Jim Duggan hit the ring for a easy pop and win

9. Koko B Ware pinned Danny Doring

10. In The Main Event: Macho Man Randy Savage and British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith took on Vader and Tully Blanchard. After repeatedly calling out the Gulf Coast North American Champion, Tully Blanchard held his own against Randy Savage, while Vader often matched up with his old nemesis from Leeds. In the end, Davey Boy Smith's back was injured from an earler chair shot, and his attempt to lift Vader for a running power slam failed. Vader then took over and nailed a MOONSAULT for the 1-2-3.

Segment: After the match, Tully Blanchard grabbed the GCW Title belt and laid out the Macho Man while Vader repeatedly used the VADER BOMB on the already injured Davey Boy Smith. Paramedics had to bring out the stretcher for Bulldog and take him to the ambulance as the show ended....

Card 26

August Year 1 TV Taping from The Rapides Parish Coliseum in Alexandria, Louisiana (8,112)

1. D-Lo Brown beat Barry Horowitz with a sidewalk slam

Segment: Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan mention we'll be seeing Rob Van Dam take on Koko B Ware later one. "It's a Main Event anywhere in the country!"

2. Sam Houston pinned Bruno Moretti with a BULLDOG

Segment: Gorilla and Bobby show the footage from the main event at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum last week. The British Bulldog will be out for several months with a major rib injury. Gorilla gives an address for fans to write in well wishes. Bobby gives an address for suckers...err fans to send him money.

3. In a classic, the Shepherders and Quebecers went back and forth. Luke nearly had a pinfall win over Pierre when Johnny Polo rang the timekeepers bell early, distracting the official and breaking the count. While the referee argued with Luke, Butch, and the ringside officials, the Quebecers attacked the heroes from behind and got the pinfall

Segment: The Quebecers are giddy and interviewed post match by Gordon Solie, they laugh like schoolboys until chased off set by the Shepherders. Solie remarks "As great as these matches are on TV, they're much better live at your local arena. I have a feeling the Quebecers haven't seen the last of Luke and Butch.

4. Shane Douglas beat the Brooklyn Brawler

Segment: After the match Shane grabs a microphone and calls out sissy boy Steve Corino, who obliges him but has Al Snow in tow with him! Shane mocks Steve for needing a big brother to deal with his problems, but Snow interupts and says he's had enough to his antics challenging Douglas to a tag team match against himself and Corino, that is if he he can find a partner. Shane says he has just the man and will happily kick the shit out of Snow and Corino any time, any where.

5. Don Muraco beat Fit Finlay

6. Progressive Liberal Daniel Richards lectured the crowd about clean energy. Then the lights went out and Enter Sandman played as the crowd went wild. Sandman did his entrance and squashed the Democrat. Post match he celebrated with a few 12 ounce curls.

7. Vader beat Hacksaw Jim Duggan with a VADER BOMB

Segment: GCW Heavyweight Champion Macho Man Randy Savage is interviewed. He says he's been in touch with the British Bulldog who is in good spirits and will be back as soon as he can. In the mean time he's got a receipt for Tully Blanchard for laying him out with the title belt in Biloxi, and he's willing to put the Heavyweight Title on the line to get it, any time anywhere along the Gulf Coast. Freak Out! Freak Out! Get your tickets! Get Your tickets! OOOOOOH YEAH!

8. Powers of Pain beat Pepper Parks and Cedric Alexander with a RUNNING POWER SLAM

9. Rob Van Dam beat Koko B Ware with a FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH

Segment: The Heavenly Bodies along with Jim Cornette are interviewed. Cornette goes on one of his colorful rants, this time about GCW Tag Team Champions the Rock and Roll Express. He's interrupted by GCW Commissioner Teddy Long, who said if you want a shot at the gold playa you have to do it in a non-title match, booking a series of matches around the territory.

10. In the Main Event, GCW TV champion Curt Henning defended against Marty Jannetty. As the previous match up went to a time limit draw the announcers kept a close eye on the clock. The two had another back and forth battle, but with less than a minute left on the clock the champion caught the challenger with a HENNING PLEX after Bobby Heenan interference to get the 1-2-3 and retain the title...
