I'm stunned that Virgil made to title challenger status, but anything can happen. He pinned Buddy Rogers in a tag match for me once, and I remember staring at the dice thinking "You've got to be f'n kidding me." Who did he beat?

I had DDP as a champ once (played a local try hard guy who finally won the gold). Yeah, he dropped the belt at the next rematch. Nothing wrong with DDP as champ. Despite what people may think of him, he was a multiple time WCW champ. And I believe some of those reigns were when WCW was on top of WWE.

As you can tell, Virgil always reverse on L2D. He never quite wins, but nearly throws a wrench into the plans

The first year of my BCW fed saw Virgil win the U.S. belt from Greg Valentine in a stunner ... two cards later, an Ox Baker heart punch ended that title reign ...
I wish I could get DDP to title status, but he's been running mostly midcard for me ...
And guiltyparty, that line about DLJ was classic! I know what you mean -- even though he's my current U.S. champ (and a former BCW world heavyweight champ), he seems to have the most mundane matches for me -- he'll get locked on Level 2 O forever (so it seems). I know there are people on this board that have raved about his skills as a big man, but I think in BCW he left them in the car before heading into the arena. (Then again, he's still the U.S. champ ...)
I guess the key to an "unwanted" champ is how the story line goes from there/who you run at him next ... I'm running into that a little bit with my WHC Jimmy Snuka -- seems like the forces are aligned against him, but he keeps surviving to the point of it being a bit annoying ... but I've got some plans about that ... :-)

I was stunned he made it in to the title match too, basically hes been knocking around my legends fed in his old million$man jobber/servant/bodyguard role. million$man was due to be in a sixman no1 contender match, but was injured in the ppv previous to the sixman,so i did use creative control and threw virgil in to replace him...it kind of made sense, against all odds he won the sixman by pinfall on my bootleg shawn michaels, the other four men were sting,ox,kowalski and bockwinkel...shocking. He then faced the unbeaten jimmy snuka for the title, locked the cobra clutch on,double 1 rolled....and the rest is history. Snuka will get his rematch at next ppv,so expect virgils reign to be over quickly, but then again hes beat him once!!

Sounds like more proof supporting rolling twice for someone to take the title, also known as the Champions advantage.

I don't know, isn't it fun to have such a surprise champion? Hs reign won't last long. Look at WCW before they folded. They had actor David Arquette! True but Ready to Rumble is a classic! It really is the No Holds Barred of its time. We need another movie like those to come around this generation. I love The Wrestler, but we need a quirky, off the wall movie like Ready To Rumble or No Holds Barred.

Wow. That's pretty wild about Virgil.
I had a similar situation with Jimmy Snuka. Nick Bockwinkel had been my champ for about a year-and-a-half. Then Snuka got a lucky streak and climbed to the top of the contender's ladder. In a shocker, Snuka beat Bockwinkel for the title. Then again in a rematch.
Following that, Snuka held my world title for two years. He's still, technically, the champ even after my switch to no-storylines. Although he's kind of put himself in a tight spot because the dice have finally cooled off for him.
It's not that I think Snuka is unworthy to hold the world title. But I didn't care for him as champ. And what was worse was I kept throwing people at him to unseat him (Bruiser Brody, Strangler Lewis, The Sheik, Bockwinkle again) and he'd just mow through them. Cory's Lou Thesz bootleg looks like it finally got the best of him, though. And Snuka recently had a problem with Rikidozan as well.
So I may finally get that new champ I've been wanting since, oh, 2006.

Sorta on topic....when I first ordered COTG it was when each order came with the Greg Valentine card. I didn't know where he fit in continuity wise because his card just came with the first set. So my first Galaxian Champion...yep....is Valentine. SO wish I hadn't included him in the tournament. He dropped it a night later to Star Warrior, but still...it's on paper as a win. Maybe I'll have to edit out that part of my history as I enter my cards into Online.

I had Greg Valentine win the World title once, which disturbed me deeply. Just so everyone knows, no, I did not create a duplicate account under Tommy's name. ;D For those of you that don't know I had a two brand fed with NWA and WWF PPV's. Iron Sheik and Valentine won the world titles. I did not play Legends for a year. HAHAHAHAHA! That is awesome. And sad.
