Sam and Todd are joined by Kevin Ford - author of the CHIKARASpecial blog - to discuss one of the most fun promotions ever to grace a squared circle. From its humble beginnings in 2002 to the 2011 King of Trios to the Grand Championship to the Flood, shutdown, and beyond, we're talking about the heroes, villains, titles, and tournaments that made CHIKARA unique and always a fun watch. Plus, we run down all the usual news notes, previews, and teasers from Filsinger Games land. WebsiteAppleGoogleSpotify

Listened to part of this already. Very fun podcast. I remember what got me into Chikara was the tag tournament they did around 2004 - It had Super Dragon and I think Necro Butcher made a surprise appearance.

Jack Dourakus - Louden Noxious/ Gavin Louderspeaker would have been a PERFECT guest for this topic. He even has his own Chikara card.

Another great episode. Loved hearing about Chikara. After getting away from the game, it was the Chikara set that brought me back into the fold. Sam, you are right. The Chikara Starter Set is the perfect fed starter.

It's great to have the framing around what is a great jumping on point for Chikara as someone who didn't have any exposure to it outside of the cards it's good to have some starting points.

CHIKARA 2010-2012 was one of my favorite feds/times in wrestling. Had a blast traveling the Midwest w Tom and Alex, hitting up a bunch of shows during that time we did the box set for them. Priceless memories.

Listened last night and really enjoyed the conversation. While admittedly, like Sam, I came late to the promotion and learned a ton from other fan-made content and watching tons of old Podcast-a-Go Go episodes, it is still one of my favorites and I completely connect it with FG for me. The first time I went to a live show happened because they were supposed to have the newest FG set debuting at that show, and how could I miss that? Secondly, the first GCon I showed up at, Tournament Master threw in free Chikara DVDs which I took home, watched, and was hooked. After that I tried to go live when I could.
Appreciate hearing your ideas on the must see and the good starting point. So much good stuff, but I also loved moments like Chuck Taylor and Archibald Peck posing for pictures or Colt Cabana and fake Seth Rogen, the BDK, Icarus and Chikara vs. Deucalion, Crown and Court vs Devastation Inc. Icarus saying about my son, “This mutant must belong to you” in his own sarcastic way. Awesome storytelling and so many interesting characters. Great to have Kevin Ford on the show.

Discovered Chikara throw the game last year when I got Icarus as an throw in card.
This show was great to further my education on what seemed to be a very interesting organization.
Icarus has become one on my favorites, he just defended his Heavyweight title against Matthew Justice in my Indie Fed.
