UK is on the verge of a petrol fuel (gasoline in USA) . The media press (TV / Radio & Newspapers) reported there is a UK shortage of petrol tanker driver that can't get the fuel out . Public started panic buying and stations slowly started closing down with running out of fuel . Emergency vehicles (Police / Fire / Ambulance etc) fuel up at stations . UK could be 24-48 hours away from collapse ?

Sounds like one of those self fulfilling prophesies. Someone says something might happen and people panic causing it to happen. I hope things get straightened out. Good luck to you. Just remember as we learned here in the US, do not put gas in bags.  |

On The Edge - said Don't put gas in bags . All that stuff is happening . People turning up with say 7 Jerry Cans but ONLY 2 are allowed legally .

70s? Groovy man.
Well the whole gas in bags thing was kind of an urban legend here. It made the social media that is was happening but most if not all the pics shared were from years before and usually dealt with smugglers. I seem to recall one pic, very likely faked or done for hits, of someone preparing to pour gas into a laundry basket.

In class today (I start all my classes with current events) we talked about the gas shortage in the United Kingdom. The lack of tanker drivers is the main problem but it was made worse by the panic buying of gas (some of my students made a good comparison with the panic buying of toilet paper that occurred early in the COVID-19 pandemic.)
