Mine did apparently come in today, but for some reason, it required a signature and I didn’t see them come in. Now I have it scheduled for tomorrow and I’ll need to stay outside to get it.

My copy of the new Ringside Companion Volume 1 arrived in today's mail. I think I might do a scaffold match at either Vegasmania 3 or at Vegasmania Backlash.
Also arriving today via delivery was my new cell phone and it is now activated. But for some reason, although I had ICloud, not all of my apps and contacts transferred so I might need to get some of your phone numbers once again.

Priority mail packages are in the mail officially. Ran into a snag on the first class packages, but will get it all taken care of somehow tomorrow.

Just some random thoughts as I watch Grant's video and wait for mine to arrive:
- Spot doesn't appear to have any stat changes (unless he has a Chart Rating, Agility, or Power change that I couldn't see), just the height and weight going to a much more Moondoggy 6', 274.
- Cool to see the Alley Fight made official.
- Slight rule change to the First-Blood Match that I think is an improvement. I still think there's an ideal form of the match out there taking weapons shots and such into account, but I get that for many people simpler is better.
- The Towel/Coward-Waves-the-Flag Match was a pleasant surprise. I like the open acknowledgment that these matches never end without some kind of malarkey--I wrote a match like this decades and decades ago that was basically a "Pick Your Own Screwjob" Chart that practically precluded the match ever ending cleanly. Every finish seemed to involve a fake towel/flag or a brawl where one towel flies into the ring to end the match.
- The Scaffold Match! It's an honor and a privilege to have a match that I wrote (mostly) make its way into official FG canon. I didn't go over all the rules but most of that chart debuted in the JCP 1986 set I released.
- Awesome to see a Stretcher Match made official as well. Long overdue. My first thought is that I don't know if I'm crazy about disregarding fatigue in such a match, but this appears to sort of lift from the old Mark Taggart stretcher match which used the original Feud Table, with any "wrestler is stretchered out" instruction ending the match.
- The Table Match has been changed to its more real-life method of winning, as opposed the original FG rules which required two tables to be broken but ended in a pinfall or submission. Sensible move--I liked the FG rules but they did kind of come off as that WWF/E thing where they have to put their own spin on a traditional gimmick match.
Oh, we have a COTG section! Good, I wouldn't want some of the old nomenclature like "Cosmic Cage" to go away entirely.
- I mentioned this before, but if there ever are plans to make this available for viewing online, I think an Ebook is the way to go over a .pdf, as you could just link directly to other sections in the book if you need Texas Death rules or to use rules from the first section of the book in your GWF fed.
- Yes, the Championship Crisis and other 2125 matches were part of an unofficial early draft of the Ringside Companion that Rob put out and sent to some people. They were never officially released until now.
- Some interesting name changes, like the Barbed Wire Cosmic Cage Match now being the Betelgeuse Barbed Wire... and the Battlezone Match now being a Cetus Battlezone Match. I'm not sure if Omega and Morpheus officially introducing the Cosmic Cage to deal with Dorado Sundown was ever made official before, either.
- Thought maybe the Mensa Table Match would have the old rules for posterity, but nope, just a direction to go to a previous page. No big deal, just an observation.
- The Primus Carnage Match/Alpha Timeline is from the CWF 2115 set from a year or so ago.
- The Sam's Brawl Match! An all-time Club Galactica classic.
- Interesting that the Titan Death Match Hardcore Version gets its own chart instead of using the Texas Death Match charts. Didn't pause to read the charts in-depth but maybe they wanted to keep some of the futuristic terminology.
- Cool, the Torture Chamber Match finally codifies what happens after the first two "falls." As I've always played it, PINs are essentially another "down - 3."
- Another match, the Universal Battle Royal, that keeps its own charts.
- Cool to see an all-purpose Commissioner chart.
- One of the Into the Turnbuckle chart updates added the ol' "Irish whip reversal crushes the referee in the corner" spot, moving the Hurt Referee Chart from Deathjump to Turnbuckle.
- Just for the record (and maybe for an Addendum to Volume II): there are still official rules for an Arsenal Match, Aethran No Surrender Match (which is basically I Quit), and Castilex Slave Match out there.
All in all, great work and I can't wait to get my own hands on it.
