12/1/1980 Baltimore, Maryland

In a highly anticipated press conference, The Bennett Group announced the formation of a new wrestling federation... Legends Wrestling Federation. The federation will call the Baltimore-Philadelphia region it's home and has begun signing talent to fill it's roster. On hand were established stars Harley Race, Randy Savage and The Road Warriors... all who have signed deals with the LWF in previous weeks. Owner, Steve Bennett, addressed the media...



“I want to thank you all for coming. It has been my life long dream to own and build the greatest wrestling company in the world. I have been a fan of professional wrestling since I was a kid. Now, the greatest legends this sport has to offer have a place they can call home. Where talent, hard work and the drive to be the very best will be rewarded. We offer our fans the opportunity to see the greatest stars on the greatest stage. We have signed the men seated on each side of me, as well as Buddy Rogers, Lou Thesz, The Midnight Express and many more.



So, with that said, I would like to announce our first live event... LWF New Beginnings. This event will be held January 1st and will feature only one match. A 16-man Battle Royal to determine the first ever LWF World Heavyweight Champion! We are excited for the opportunity to showcase this sport like no other company can. Thank you all... The winner will be the first ever LWF World Heavyweight Champion!

Duggan: "Hoooo! Hiya Gordon Solie. I'm here to make an impact in the LWF. I don't care who you are, when you face me, be ready for a fight. All these so called tough guys... they ain't in my league. Hooo!"

Solie: "Fans, let's get to the ring for our first match..."

You are young and talented, but you can't beat me boy! Today, you will realize you have some learning to do. Get ready Hennig. I'm gonna beat you like the many times I beat your old man."

Solie: "I think we're ready for the next contest."

Curt Hennig defeated Harley Race with a HENNIG PLEX

Match Nores: This match was over quickly. Race was thrown into the turnbuckle and went down hard. As he staggered to his feet, Hennig delivered a surprise Hennig Plex for the win. Henning quickly rolled out of the ring as Race kicked the bottom rope in disgust. This isn't over.

Robert Gibson defeated Iron Sheik with a DOUBLE DROPKICK

Solie: "Fans, before we head to the ring for the LWF World Title bout, I want to introduce none other than Bobo Brazil! Bobo, how are you feeling tonight?"

Brazil: Well Gordon..."

Just then Buddy Rogers attacks Brazil from behind. A wild brawl breaks out. Rogers gets the upper hand and tosses Brazil in the ring. The bell sounds...



- World Heavyweight Title Match - No DQ -

Bobo Brazil vs. Buddy Rogers

for the LWF World Heavyweight Championship

Buddy Rogers defeated Bobo Brazil with a FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE

Match Rating: 1.00

Match Notes: Before Brazil can react, Buddy Rogers locks on the FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE. Brazil held on as long as he could, but eventually tapped out. Buddy Rogers wins the LWF World Heavyweight Championship!!! As Rogers celebrated in the ring, Bobo Brazil was attended to by the ringside physician.

Liked the fact that the LWF World Heavyweight Championship battle royal had finalists, but no winner.

Which set up some showdown between The Original Nature Boy and Brazil.

Also dug that after all of Harley Race's prognostications, he wound up getting punked by Mr. Perfect.

Solie: "Welcome fans to LWF Saturday Morning Showdown. We have a big show planned. You'll see Randy Savage in singles action, plus Rob Van Dam and Bruiser Brodie. The Road Warriors will be here as well. But first, here is the LWF World Heavyweight Champion... Buddy Rogers!"

Buddy Rogers enters the interview area... LWF championship belt around his waist.

Solie: "Thanks for being here. About last week..."

Rogers: "Yes Gordon, I won the LWF Championship last week. I am the best this sport has to offer. I proved my greatness. Bobo Brazil was no match for me. I was hoping for a better opponent, but you get what you get I guess."

Just then, Bobo Brazil enters the interview area and takes the mic.

Brazil: "Hey champ... I got news for you. I spoke with the championship committee. I get my rematch champ... NEXT WEEK! No DQ. See you next week champ."

Brazil flipped the mic to a stunned Rogers.

Gorgeous George vs. Rob Van Dam

Rob Van Dam defeated Gorgeous George with a DQ after a wild brawl outside the ring!

Harley Race vs. Curt Hennig

Curt Hennig defeated Harley Race with a HENNIG PLEX

Match Notes: Race cam out aggressive, but Hennig countered everything. After a fierce brawl outside the ring, Race crawled into the ring and was AGAIN surprised by the HENNIG PLEX! After the match, an enraged Race attacked Hennig... leaving him down in the ring. Race stormed to the back in disgust.



- Interview -
Solie: "Ladies and gentlemen... here they are... the Road Warriors!"

Hawk: "Well... Gordon Solie. Me and Animal are here in the LWF for one reason only... to win the LWF World Tag Team belts. We don't care who we have to go through. Just another list of victims... tell 'em Animal!"

Animal: "Listen.. to the boys in the back. You want us? We ain't hard to find. Just be sure you got health insurance boys!"

Solie: "Fans, let's got to the ring..."

Out of curiosity, did you use the battle royal simulator online to run your Battle Royal?

I've run about 10 Battle Royals using the initial LOW Color cards and Bob Brazil has won the majority of them (the only other winner has been Buddy Rogers).
