The other day I was going down the Wiki hole. I had watched a movie and went to look up info on an actor. That lead me to other of his works which lead to other actors and actresses, etc. I end landing on this gem. I saw it was a British zombie musical and likely a comedy. Two of the three had me as I am not big on musicals. Depends on my mood I guess. Some are enjoyable some I just cringe until the singing stops. For this movie the kicker was it takes place at Christmas time. So I checked Roku and Hulu with no luck. Did more searching online to see if Netflix might have it so I would restart my subscription. Was getting nowhere so looked into DVDs. Found some cheap but before placing an order I did a bit more research. It was available on a few streaming services that I did not have. Then I saw it might be on Pluto. I went and checked, looking at their On Demand which I had not used before. Sure enough it was there. I ended up watching it last night.
I loved it. While not a perfect movie it is pretty damn good. Nice mix of action, zombies, humor and the Christmas feel. This will be part of my Christmas line-up going forward. I would recommend this movie to anyone that likes most of the points it hits on. While not as good as Shaun of the Dead it is close enough to it that fans of Shaun should enjoy this movie. FYI it takes place in Scotland but really only a couple characters have an accent.
