LEGENDS WRESTLING ASSOCIATION Welcome to my new fed... the Legendary Wrestling Association. This is a fed I've been wanting to try for a while. My fed consists of LOE Expansion VII as well as Thesz/Tragos HoF set 1... plus Red Bastion and Billy Red Lyons. That gives me 20 of the best technical wrestlers to build this federation on. The emphasis in this fed is "old school" wrestling... lots of holds, submissions and strong technical wrestling. These are tough men, and this is a tough sport. Only the strong will prosper. I plan on rotating talent in every so often as needed. Initially there is only the LWA World Heavyweight Title to compete for, but I will be adding a Tag Team Title in the near future. The first few months will consist of house shows to get a sense of how the rankings will shake out. Then the title struggle will begin. Win and losses count as this is done in a shoot style. Anyway, here we go...

Taken from the Miami Herald:
Brooklyn, NY Last night the lights shown bright, as a fledgling wrestling promotion packed the Brooklyn Civic Center. The Legendary Wrestling Alliance was in town for a unique wrestling show unlike anything seen in the last 70 years. Brainchild of LWA president Steve Bennett, the new federation has gone in a direction that would make our grandparents proud. The stars of the LWA are some of the most accomplished armature wrestlers in the world. You are more likely to see a hammerlock instead of a clothesline, a spinning toe hold instead of a stunner and a win by submission instead of a pinfall. It's as if a LWA show is a step back in time, to a simpler age, a time where wins and losses matter and competition is valued over flash. No ear-splitting pyro here nor the bright lights of giant video screens. Just plain old wrestling competition. Tough Men, who compete in the LWA for the love of the sport and big-time prize money.
"We are in a unique position here in the LWA..." stated Bennett. " We feature the absolute best in pure wrestling competition. We have wrestlers from around the world, honestly competing for the right to be called the best at what they do."
Is the Legendary Wrestling Alliance for everyone? Perhaps not. There are major promotions across this country who would love to see the LWA fail. In this pandemic world, money is tight. The average family's entertainment dollar is finite. Can the LWA carve a niche for themselves in this ever-changing market?
"I think we can. That drives us even more..." Bennett suggested. "People get tired of the flash and the same old bankrupt storylines from the same old promotions. It's about the fans. It's about what they want. We think we provide an amazing option. We're just looking for a chance." As Bennett looks over the packed house... "I think the LWA is heading in the right direction. And THEY agree."
We shall see.

Press release from LWA Headquarters Havre de Grace, MD
The Legendary Wrestling Association would like to announce the creation of the LWA Light Heavyweight Division. This division will consist of wrestlers in the 160 lbs through 210 lbs weight class and will feature some of the best athletes the LWA has to offer. With the creation of this new division, we have also created the LWA World Light Heavyweight Championship. The initial wrestlers in the light heavyweight division include:
Danny Hodge George Tragos Jerry Brisco Jim Londos "Strangler" Evan Lewis Frank Gotch Henry Irslinger Rod Fenton
In addition, the LWA would like to announce that all LWA title matches will consist of the best 2 of 3 falls stipulation. These best 2 of 3 falls matches will have a 1 hour time limit and will provide a definitive winner to these epic matches.
Finally, the LWA governing body would like to address the rumors of new LWA signings. As of this moment, we are in discussions with a number of wrestlers who are looking to compete in the LWA. At this point all discussions are in the preliminary stages only. We will not comment on these wrestlers, but will issue the press releases as the signings are made final.
