The Stand 10/26/80 - New York, NY
The opening video is in a private study in a home. Dark wood paneling, a chandler providing low mood lighting and books line the shelves on the wall. A leather chair sits near a roaring fireplace and in the chair is world renowned author of horror, Mr. Stephen King.
Stephen King: Welcome friends. Since the dawn of man there has been a battle between good and evil. That war rages on tonight in the RCW ring. A Dark Invader has gathered the forces of evil to his side. But do not despair for out of the cornfields, er, I mean the beaches of sunny California a hero emerges. Dude Brohan has amassed his own army of good as they prepare to make...The Stand.
We are live in the arena. The camera pans across the wild crowd, many of which are in costumes.
Gorilla Typhoon: Welcome to NYC and The Stand. We have a great show for you folks.
KC: That's right Typhoon. Plus, in our main event, that goody two shoes Dude Brohan get's what's coming to him. If he even gets in the match. My money says he looks across the ring at the army Dark Invader has put together and he turns tail and runs away like the yellow bellied coward he really is.
Gorilla Typhoon: Give me a break KC. Here is the opening match.
The Piranha vs Bug Buster.
Buster came out gangbusters and dominated the action. He got the W with Extermination.
Winner: Bug Buster via submission. (*)
The camera shows the medical staff checking on World Champion Lazer who is on the ground in the locker room. He is holding his ribs and appears to be in great pain.
Mean Jeans: It appears one or more men has attacked our World Champion in the locker room. Our medical staff is checking on him and we will pass on any information as we get it. Back to you Gorilla.
Gorilla Typhoon: Thanks Jeans. Shocking news to say the least.
The Thrashers vs Stallions Gone Wild w/Professor Gigawatt for the RCW World Tag Team Championship.
Bill tried a Hippie toss on Dizzy Lixx but Dizzy countered it. From there the champs worked Biil over. They hit their tag finisher but Bill kicked out. After a couple minutes, Bill was able to tag out. The challengers softed Cesar Sleaze up with a pair of Rufus drivers. Then they hit a Dual Air Guitar finisher but Cesar kicked out. A bit later Cesar rolled out and Fred went out after them. After a wild brawl Cesar was in control. Back in the ring Cesar tagged Dizzy in. The man who beats the drum to his own beat used a drum stick to poke Fred in he eye, just avoiding a DQ. Bill calls to Gigawatt for help. The Professor looks like an idea hit him. But it didn't seem to involve the match as he ran off to the back. A minute later Dizzy hit a knee blast on Fred and pinned him.
Winner: The Thrashers by pinfall to retain. (***)
A promo video showing a night sky with a few snowflakes floating around. The camera pans down to show the ocean with a few small pieces of ice bobbing up and down. We see a large cruiseliner approach. A man stands on the bow, pointing at something. A voice over goes, "He is cool. Ice runs thru his veins. He is coming to RCW."
Jet Set Strutter w/The Thinker vs He-Beast the Barbarian in a Stipulation match.
He-Beast swung his chain over his head and chased The Thinker around the ring before the match. Once the match started the craziness continued. This was a battle of wills as each man wanted the win. Jet Set kicked out of two covers following a Power Press. Meanwhile He-Beast survived the Six-Figure Leg Lock. The first time he reversed it, the second he muscled his way to the ropes for a break. The Thinker got involved by tripping He-Beast as he ran the ropes. Finally He-Beast hit a third Power Press and the ref, not seeing The Thinker trying to catch his attention, counted three.
Winner: He-Beast the Barbarian by pinfall. (****)
After the bell The Thinker tried returning to the back right away but security stopped him. He-Beast came over and plopped the manager on his shoulder and carried him to the ring. Officials came down and made sure The Thinker put on the skunk costume as per the stipulation. The Thinker protested and tried escaping but eventually he put it on to the delight of the fans. The Thinker quickly rolls out of the ring and makes a beeline to the back.
We see Team Evil in their locker room preparing for the main event. A dummy is strung up in the corner and Tennis Pro is swinging his tennis racquet up between it's legs.
Lazer vs The Annihilator for the RCW World Championship.
Lazer came down with his ribs wrapped up thanks to the earlier attack he suffered. All we know is the two attackers were two masked men. The Annihilator showed no mercy as he attacked the champ. He used Cyborg Clotheslines, Armagedons and a Terminated to beat down the champ. He even went high risk and went to the top rope where he leveled Lazer with a flying shoulder. He hit a second Terminated and pinned Lazer to win the World title.
Winner: The Annihilator via pinfall to win the title. (*)
The new World Champion takes his belt, flings it over his shoulder and while showing no emotion walks to the back.
Mean Jeans: The Stand has been a smash success and we still have the main event to come. But before that I have some huge breaking news. We are set for our next super card in January. It will be called, Brawl at the Mall. The actual date and location will be announced at a later time. We do know what the main event will be. It will be a twenty five THOUSAND dollar battle royal. Yes, you heard me correctly. The winner will receive $25,000. And this will not be a traditional battle royal. The RCW officials have come up with an interesting twist but more news on that later. For now, it's main event time.
Gorilla Typhoon: That is big news indeed.
KC: You said it Gorilla. Heck, for that kind of money I might even come out of my semi-retirement to win the battle royal.
Team Good (Dude Brohan, Arizona Chance, Ace Arcadium, Star Boy and Pierre the Enormous) vs Team Evil (Dark Invader, Cobalt Commander, Tennis Pro, Pelvis Pressly and Mad Arab) in a Ten Man Tag Team Elimination Match.
Mad Arab was going wild and Dark Invader tried to get him in the corner as he wanted Cobalt to start. Finally, Invader gave up and let Mad Arab start. He faced off with Ace Arcadium. Mad Arab rushed at Ace and paid the price. Ace worked on him a bit then tagged Arizona Chance in. After doing more damage Chance tagged Pierre in. The giant man was too much for Mad Arab. Pierre used the Double Chug Bearhug but Tennis Pro came in to free Mad Arab. When Pierre hit the Ginormous Drop he pinned Mad Arab for the first elimination.
Tennis Pro got in and pointed toward the man he wanted, Star Boy. Pierre was accommodating as he tagged Star Boy in. Momentum went from one man to the other. Star Boy tagged Pierre back in. He lifted Tennis Pro up into a Double Chug Bearhug and Pro quickly gave up. That is the second elimination. Things are not looking good for Team Evil.
Ace Arcadium and Pelvis Pressly begin the action next. Ace erupted like a volcano. He made a pin attempt after an 8-bit Explosion. He quickly followed up with his Game Over finisher. Sensing he had Pelvis on the ropes he went for Cheat Code and got the elimination. Team Good had a 5-2 advantage now.
Arizona Chance and Cobalt Commander got in the ring and locked up. Cobalt got the advantage then it appeared he threw something in Arizona's eyes, Poison Powder likely, and rolled Arizona up. The ref counted three and Team Evil eliminated their first man. Cobalt celebrated.
Ace Arcadium got in the ring as Cobalt continued to celebrate. Ace grabbed him and hit a shoulderbreaker. A two count and Ace went for Game Over. Another two count. A second Game Over ended Colbalt's night. That is the fourth man on Team Evil eliminated. Only the team captain, and USA Champion, Dark Invader is left.
Dark Invader got in the ring for the first time and went to attack Ace. He received a shoulderbreaker for his trouble. Ace tagged the big man, Pierre the Enormous in. Pierre stepped on Dark Invader then performed his finisher, Ginormous Drop. The ref started to make the pin count when Dude Brohan reaches over and tags himself in. Pierre seems confused as he stands up. The ref orders him to the corner. Than Dude makes the cover and calls the ref over. The ref counts three and the match is over.
Winner: Team Good by elimination. (**)
Dude Brohan is celebrating in the ring, doing his signature surf moves and giving shaka hand signs while the fans cheer. Pierre stands in the corner looking disappointed while Ace and Star Boy look unsure what to do. Star Boy pats Pierre on the back.

Hey on_the_edge! The Stand did not dissapoint one bit. He Beast over Jet Set was killer. And what a main event! All would have been without controversy if Brohan hadn't tagged himself in. An inevitable showdown is brewing me thinks. Perhaps at Brawl at The Mall, some unfinished business will be settled. Really looking forward to your take on the upcoming Battle Royal. Let alone Lazer's revenge. Bravo!

10/28/80 Boston, MA - card #39
The show opens with Mean Jeans, dressed up in a light brown safari outfit including the hat and a pair of binoculars hanging from his neck.
Mean Jeans: Welcome to a special Halloween edition of The Show. This comes hot on the heels of our special this past Sunday, The Stand. At this time let me introduce my special guest, the man who captained Team Good to victory, Dude Brohan.
With that Dude comes out to Surfin' U.S.A. and joins Mean Jeans.
Dude Brohan: Thanks for having me bro. That match at The Stand was a barn burner let me tell ya bro. But being the ultimate bro for good I led my team and we defeated those evil do no gooders. Bro, now that that is done bro it's time to set my sights on bigger things bro. I'm talking about winning the World title. That no good walking, talking toaster, The Annihilator is currently holding the belt bro. But I'm gonna smash him down to size bro and take that title for me and all my lil bros out there. Like the tides coming in and going out, you can count on it.
Mean Jeans: Good luck Dudester. Now, let's send it to Gorilla Typhoon and KC "the body".
We see the two men standing by their announcer's desk. KC is dressed in camo army fatigues and Gorilla is dressed in a way that fits his name. He is dressed like a sea captain who's been thru a storm.
Gorilla Typhoon: Thank you Mean Jeans and an early happy Halloween to all of you watching. Now KC, what are you dressed up as?
KC: This is my outfit from my movie coming out next summer, Pre-Dater. It's about a mysterious woman that shows up early for dates and about the special ops team I'm on that tracks her down. She's a real man-eater. Starting next year and for many years to come this will be the hottest costume for kids. I was going to dress up as a banana Gorilla, but I thought you might get hungry and try and eat me. I've heard your stomach grumbling while you did play by play before.
Gorilla Typhoon: Oh give me a break KC.
Star Boy vs Dasher Hatfield w/Sugar Dunkerton.
Dasher and Star Boy exchanged holds for a couple minutes than Star Boy got things going. He hit a Flying Cross Chop and Dasher barely kicked out in time. Later he performed a Somersault Kick. Dunkerton got in the ring causing the ref to stop the count. Then the ref ordered Dunkerton to return to the back. Star Boy went back on the attack and finished Dasher after another Flying Cross Chop.
Winner: Star Boy via pinfall. (**)
A video showing short clips and still pictures of highlights from The Stand.
The Thinker is in back with a couple RCW officials. They are pointing to the skunk costume and instruct him to place it on but he is adamantly refusing to do it.
--- commercials including an upcoming Thanksgiving sale at Sears, the perfect time to get a new stove before family shows up for the Thanksgiving dinner ---
A promo for the next super card, Brawl at the Mall, coming in January.
Red Scare vs T.A. Templeton and Jobber Joe.
Joe is carrying a hand fan and is waving it to keep Templeton cool as they make their way to the ring. Templeton and Space Monkey begin the action and it's a clash of styles. The power of Templeton wins over Space Monkey's agility. He then tags Joe in. Joe keeps the advantage for a bit then Space Monkey tags out the first chance he got. Hammerhead smashed Joe before finishing him off with a Soviet Sledge.
Winner: Red Scare by pinfall. (**)
Red Scare had barely had their arms raised when Lazer came running down with a chair. He slides in the ring, swings the chair and sends Red Scare scurying out of the ring. Officials and security rush down to calm Lazer down and contain him. Mean Jeans joins them all in the ring.
Mean Jeans: Lazer, can I have a word with you. What in the legend of Sleepy Hollow is going on?
Lazer: I'm trying to get payback on the men who jumped me at The Stand before my title match.
Mean Jeans: I thought you didn't see their faces due to they were wearing masks.
Lazer: That's true Jeans but over the last couple days since it happened I've played it over and over in my head. I remembered two things. One man was hairy. I mean VERY hairy. The other thing was the other man smelled of vodka. So I put it together and realized it was Red Scare. I don't know why they did it but I will find out and I will make them pay.
--- commercials including for the next The Show being in Philadelphia, PA ---
The Thinker, wearing the skunk costume and being led by security, comes out from the back and parades down around the ring a couple times. A "stinker" chant rains down from the fans. A very unhappy Thinker stomps off to the back.
A promo video showing a night sky with a few snowflakes floating around. The camera pans down to show the ocean with a few small pieces of ice bobbing up and down. We see a large cruise liner approach. A man stands on the bow, pointing at something. A voice over goes, "He is cool. Ice runs thru his veins. He is coming to RCW." Then the camera zooms in on the face of the man who is pointing. He looks scared and yells "Iceberg". The screen goes black and then white letters with light blue accents pop up reading "Iceberg will be here soon".
Mighty Leo vs Skullgore w/The Gargoyle.
The former USA Champion dominated for several minutes. He hit a Thunderstrike but only got a two count. The Gargoyle seemed worried then he started mumbling and making hand gestures. Suddenly Leo looked weak and was unable to follow up on the attack. Skullgore took full advantage. He brutalized Leo. He used his finishers a couple times. He also seemed to use some kind of foreign object. Leo's forehead was busted open and blood started to cover his face. It looked like for a moment that Leo was going to make a comeback. But another Diving Skullbutt finally ended the match.
Winner: Skullgore via pinfall. (***)
As The Show is about to end, we see new RCW World Champion The Annihilator. He has been watching all the action. We see him lift a surfboard and break it in half over his thigh.

Skullgore getting the mild upset there. Yea Leo was dominating until I rolled for Gargoyle to get involved. Usually those rolls amount to nothing but this time it turned out to be huge.

11/4/80 Philadelphia, PA - card #40
We see a packed house of rabid fans including World Series MVP Mike Schmidt and some of his Philidelphia Phillies teammates in the front row.
Gorilla Typhoon: Welcome to Philly and The Show. We have Dude Brohan in action in our main event along with some hot wrestling action.
KC: That's right Typhoon. Let's go to the ring for the opening match.
Mad Arab vs Rad Racer w/Mr. Bonsai.
Mad Arab rushed at Rad Racer to start the match but Rad ducked and went on the attack. Both men had chances but in the end Racer hit a sleeperhold drop and made the pin.
Winner: Rad Racer by pinfall. (**)
Rad Racer looked at Mr. Bonsai to see his reaction but his manager was distracted by looking at some papers and using a calculator.
A promo from Lazer. He says he wants to get his hands on Red Scare. So he's challenging either of them to a match next week in Washington DC. Space Monkey. Hammerhead. It doesn't matter.
--- commercials including ads for the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in New York City, America's Thanksgiving Parade sponsored by Hudsons from Detroit and of course Gimbel's Thanksgiving Day Parade held right here in Philidelphia and is the oldest and longest running Thanksgiving Day Parade ---
A video of a buff man wearing black wrestling shorts and boots along with fingerless gloves. He is also wearing a ninja like mask where only his eyes are seen. He is practicing martial arts moves. He looks like a fine tuned fighting machine. The screen goes black then white letters with light blue tint appear. "Iceberg arrives...next week".
Arizona Chance vs Pelvis Pressly w/Big Boss Jr.
Pelvis quickly took control of the action. Arizona just couldn't get anything going. He showed toughness though by kicking out of two Heartbreak Hotels. Big Boss got on the apron and yelled at the ref about a slow count. With the ref distracted, Pelvis grabbed his guitar and smashed it over Arizona's head. Arizona's eyes rolled into the back of his head and he fell like a tree. Pelvis covered and got the victory.
Winner: Pelvis Pressly by pinfall. (*)
--- commercials including an update of the early returns from the US Presidential election ---
The All-Night Rocking Express are in their locker room talking about what they need to do to win the World Tag Team Championship. They know they are the best tag team in the world but it doesn't look it without the tag belts.
Dude Brohan vs Tennis Pro w/Valley Girl and Ball Boy.
The fans go wild when Dude comes out. He rips off his Endless Summer tank top before the match starts. Dude starts fast but soon Tennis Pro is on the attack. Suddenly Dude seems to get a second wind. He hits a Big Bro Leg Drop and pins Tennis Pro before Valley Girl or Ball Boy can do anything.
Winner: Dude Brohan via pinfall. (**)
Once Tennis Pro recovered he started chewing out Valley Girl and Ball Boy. Meanwhile in the ring Dude did his surfing posses as the fans cheered.
In an office Lazer is talking on the phone.
Lazer: Yea, I got me a match next week. Will you be able to make it? Really? That's great. I'm sure I can take them both but it's nice knowing you will be watching my back. See ya next week buddy.
He hangs up the phone and turns toward the camera.
Lazer: I have one of my old tag partners coming next week to watch my back.
Camera man: Who is it?
Lazer: You will have to watch The Show next week to find out.

11/11/80 Washington, DC - card #41
The Show begins with a patriotic video in honor of Veteran's Day. It shows clips of the White House and other attractions in DC, American soldiers and jet fighters followed by images of newly elected President Ronald Reagen. Then we are live.
Gorilla Typhoon: Welcome to our nation's capital and The Show.
KC: Tell me something Gorilla, what's in that bowl you've been eating?
Gorilla Typhoon: Jelly beans, the favorite snack of our new President. Want some?
KC: No thanks, I will stick with peanuts.
Gorilla Typhoon: Suit yourself KC. Now, let's get to the ring.
He-Beast the Barbarian vs The Piranha.
He-Beast had trouble getting his hands on The Piranha. He was a slippery one and really took the fight to He-Beast. In a shocker The Piranha dominated the match. He didn't get the win with his choking finisher but followed it up with a double face stomp and got the W.
Winner: The Piranha via pinfall. (*)
Jet Set Strutter, The Thinker and Alfred the butler made their way down to the ring. Alfred was carrying two buckets, one seemed heavy. Jet Set got in the ring and attacked He-Beast. With the help of The Pirahna they beat him down. Then The Thinker ordered his butler to get in he ring with the buckets. Jet Set takes one and pours what appears to be some kind of clear, sticky substance on He-Beast. He then grabs the other one and pours feathers all over He-Beast.
Gorilla Typhoon: I can't believe it. They tar and feathered poor He-Beast.
KC: I know, isn't it great.
--- commercials including info for the Detroit Lion's and Dallas Cowboy's annual Thanksgiving Day football games ---
Gorilla Typhoon: Later tonight in our main event Lazer will face Space Monkey of Red Scare.
KC: He says he has a former tag partner watching his back tonight Gorilla. Who do you think it might be? The Horse Faced Gremlin, Nick Shiner? Maybe Hot Shot Freddie Gilbart? Perhaps Fully Loaded Rex Rugar?
Gorilla Typhoon: It could be any of those or a handful of guys he tagged with in the early days of his career. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
All-Night Rocking Express vs The All Americans Tag Team w/Ball Boy.
Ball Boy came down with The All Americans and a ball in each hand. That is to say a basketball in his right hand and a baseball in his left. The match was intense, fast paced and a clinic on tag team wrestling. It had double team moves, frequent tags, finishers, covers and pin saves. At one time or another each team was on the verge of winning. The Rocking Express hit Double Fistdrops on Dasher Hatfield and Jesse Wild made the cover while Chet Skye watched over him to keep Sugar from making a save.
Winner: All-Night Rocking Express by pinfall. (****)
The World Tag Team Champions come out to the stage. The Thrashers point to the title belts around their waists. Meanwhile the ARE boys nod their heads and point up at The Thrashers and make belt gestures.
--- commercials including a Fall Sale at Radio Shack ---
Gorilla Typhoon: It's also main event time. Speaking of main events, next week's main event will be Dark Invader defending the USA Championship against Arizona Chance.
KC: Fat chance. That is what Arizona has of winning the title.
Gorilla Typhoon: Get out of here KC. Anyways, we will be in Baltimore next week then Roanoke, VA following that and Charleston, WV the week after. So if you are in the area, come out and catch The Show.
Lazer vs Space Monkey w/Hammerhead.
The fans, along with Gorilla and KC, expected someone to come out with Lazer but he came out alone. He was pumped up though as he was excited to get his hands on one of the men who jumped him. He pounded on Space Monkey and overpowered him. He slapped on Lazerlock and it looked like the match would be over but Hammerhead got in he ring. As he went for Lazer he was stopped by the ref. Space Monkey tapped but the ref didn't see it. Lazer released the hold and tried to get his hands on Hammerhead. The ref kept them apart and sent Hammerhead back to the locker room. Space Monkey couldn't take advantage of this as Lazer rolled over him. Once again Space Monkey found himself in the Lazerlock and he tapped out.
Winner: Lazer via submission. (* 1/2)
While Lazer was having his arm raised Hammerhead came in the ring behind him and smacked him in the back with a chair. Lazer fell to his knees. Then Hammerhead hit a Soviet Sledge on him. Space Monkey recovered and joined Hammerhead on beating on Lazer. They a heavy metal rift is heard and someone comes running out from the back.
Gorilla Typhoon: That's local boy and former tag partner of Lazer, Buzzsaw.
Buzzsaw runs down and slides into the ring. He starts brawling with Red Scare. Security comes flying down to break up the fight as the show ends.
