RESULTS! GNW ON TOUR #219 ********************************* 3/7/2024 The Brandt Centre, Regina, Saskatchewan Attendance: 5,888 ******************************************** Regina was rockin' with the excitement and sounds of Great North Wrestling Thursday night at The Brandt Centre!!!
Dick Murdoch's last GNW match (at least for now) ends in disappointment for the rough tough veteran. Sputnik Monroe scratched and fought his way to a comeback victory in a great opening match. Monroe kicked out of a couple of pin attempts, before pinning Murdoch after a NECKBREAKER. Time: (7:31).
The British Bulldogs pick up a tough win over The Flying Redheads in a real scrapper of a tag-team affair. Both teams looked impressive at times and the action was fast and furious! Both teams pretty much stayed within the rules, letting the wrestling speak for itself. After avoiding a pin attempt by Bastien, The Bulldogs isolated Lyons (after the tag-in) from his partner and went to work. Dynamite gets the pin after a textbook TOWER OF LONDON double-team finisher. Time: (16:47).
Jon Moxley was a man on a mission tonight in The Brandt Centre. He comes out on top, defeating his opponent Baron Von Raschke. Raschke nearly had Moxley done for via THE CLAW, but Jon grabbed the top rope in desperation and earned the break. After that close call Moxley avoided the German's clutches by using a speed oriented offensive with high impact moves dispersed intermittently. He puts The Baron's shoulders down for the 3-count, after 2 DOUBLE ARM DDTs. Time: (6:58).
**********INTERMISSION**********
**GNW INTER-STATE TITLE SHOT MATCH** "The Crippler" is gunning for the gold, after defeating Tito Santana tonight in Regina! It wasn't an easy task by any stretch. In a gritty, and physical contest, Ray Stevens comes out with the "W", and the title shot! Ray (3 tokens) eventually puts Tito (3 tokens) down for the pin after recovering first, from a double clothesline, and hitting a vertical suplex on the still groggy Santana. Time: (9:37).
***DOG COLLAR MATCH*** Greg Valentine beats JYD at his own game in a grueling and bloody Dog COLLAR MATCH! Dog was the aggressor right from the bell, and soon had Valentine bleeding profusely. But seeing RED was just what THE HAMMER needed it seems as he takes the fight to the outside of the ring. He then proceeds to bludgeon The Dog with the chain and anything else he could get his hands on! After what seemed like an eternity on the outside, the action finally returns back into the ring. Greg works on JYD's knee with the chain, then locks on his FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK for the submission win. Time: (16:47).
******STEEL CAGE MAIN EVENT****** Meng, tuning up for his upcoming "Loser Leaves" match vs SGT. SLAUGHTER at THAW BRAWL on March 31st...decided to climb into the cage in The Brandt Centre to face BLACKJACK MULLIGAN! It certainly did not go as the brutal Tongan had hoped, as MULLIGAN was spurred into a frenzy, with the crowd fully in his corner! It was a war from start to finish, and of course the blood was flowing! Meng nearly decapitated Mulligan with a flying forearm right in the kisser, in return Blackjack nearly drives Meng face first through their chain-link confines! After several fierce melees that went back and forth at a fever pitch, Mulligan finally drops Meng to the mat one last time with a Big Boot to the Face, for the 1....2.....3! Time: (14:16).
Brian Sager: Brandt Centre you were on fire, thank you great fans here in Regina, what a night! GNW ON TOUR continues its Canadian Spring fling with ON TOUR #220 7PM March 9th, from The Co-Op Place Arena in Medicine Hat Alberta! This is Brian Sager saying so long until next time Regina, from all of us here at Great North Wrestling, WHERE THE ACTION NEVER STOPS!!! GOOD NIGHT!!!

RESULTS! GNW ON TOUR #220 ********************************* 3/9/2024 Co-Op Place Arena, Medicine Hat, Alberta ATTENDANCE: 7,000 (SOLD-OUT) ******************************************** Here are the results from a wild night in Medicine Hat!!!.......
Tiger Conway Jr.'s undefeated streak ends this evening as he is beaten by The Great Malenko! Malenko was slow to start, but then figured out his path to victory! In a pretty evenly wrestled opener, Malenko used his RUSSIAN SICKLE to end Tiger's lucky streak in front of the jam-packed crowd here in attendance at the CO-OP PLACE Arena. Time: (7:44).
Pepper Gomez dispatched Val Venis, with little difficulty tonight in our second preliminary match. Val's incessant gyrating did nothing but sicken the lady fans in attendance, and spur Pepper's desire to end things quickly. He does so after a applying a lightning quick MEXICAN CRADLE, after blocking Venis's attempt at a vertical suplex. Time: (5:51).
Moose Cholak and Yukon Eric (aka Yukon Gold) get back in the win column, after defeating former tag-team champions THE VACHONS. The larger team was able to control Mad Dog and Butcher, keeping their violent ways in check for most of this match. Size was also a factor as they wore their opponents out by making them struggle with their whole weight pressing down on them. AFTER a bit of a struggle (after all the Vachons are legit tough), Eric gets the win KODIAK KRUNCHING the Butcher. Time: (13:44).
The exiting Dan Severn provided little resistance tonight in his last GNW appearance against Fit Finlay. The Irishman had very little trouble as he rolled over a very tame BEAST tonight in Medicine Hat! After some brief fisticuffs, Fit uses 2 TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVERS to send Severn packing. Time: (3:30) (DUD).
********INTERMISSION********
Al Perez and Manny Fernandez had a decent match after the break, and the crowd was into it! Both men flexed their wrestling game in a back and forth, hotly contested battle. Perez comes out on top tonight as he tosses THE Raging Bull over the top-rope to the floor. After struggling to get back into the ring, Al finishes Fernandez pinning him after a vicious backbreaker. Time: (8:24).
In a rare feat, Kurt Angle makes "The Bad Man from Borger ", and former GNW WORLD Champion Stan Hansen SUBMIT! In a whirlwind of impact and action these 2 mega-stars lit up the Co-Op Place Arena! The uber physical Hansen vs the ring General Angle. Hansen almost pinned Angle twice with his devastating LARIAT, but Kurt kicked out on both occasions! After ducking a third LARIAT attempt, Kurt swept the big Texan's leg and latched on his unbeatable ANKLE LOCK! After what seemed like an eternity Hansen stubbornly submits! Time: (16:31).
*****MAIN EVENT 2 out of 3 FALLS***** The night's festivities come to a close here in Medicine Hat with a classic tag-team WAR! BOBO BRAZIL and ANDRE THE GIANT versus NORD THE BARBARIAN and KING KONG MOSCA!! It was pandemonium right from the opening bell, and the arena literally shook as these guys brawled all 4 in the ring at once. Somehow the ref gained control and we finally got started. It was a brutal back and forth as Nord and Mosca tried desperately to keep Andre out of the ring as much as possible. But Brazil being no slouch himself, was too much for them to handle as well. He manages to fight his way to his corner and tags ANDRE! The Giant comes in, and in short order gets the first pinfall after BIG SPLASHING poor Angelo (13:14). The second fall was even longer, and more physical. Nord and Angelo tried to do the impossible and defeat Andre, by keeping him in their corner and double-teaming the crap out of him. Andre was bloody and weary, but is finally able to tag a very fresh, very rested Bobo Brazil! Brazil comes in and cleans house, tossing Mosca out to the concrete, then pinning Nord after a series of COCO BUTTS as the crowd roars loudly. (18:27). Total Time: (31:41).
Brian Sager: I'm speechless Medicine Hat, as GNW does it again, what an evening of professional wrestling action! RESULTS!! GNW ON TOUR #221 ****************************** 3/12/2024 Access Event Centre, Morden, Manitoba Attendance: 2,445 ****************************************** Great North finishes its first Canadian stops of 2024 with an impressive card in Morden, Manitoba, here are the results......
Nord the Barbarian was the first winner of the evening, as he beats the always tough Italian ILIO DIPAOLO in the opener. Dipaolo was clearly the crowd favorite, but NORD was almost unstoppable with his brute strength on full display in Morden. After delivering an impressive assortment power moves, the Barbarian hoists a beaten Dipaolo up into an over the shoulder backbreaker for the submission victory! Time: (7:38).
After suffering to the under-handed trickery of his opponent LORD ALFRED HAYES....an angered Blackjack Mulligan roars back, to defeat the un-noble Englishman. Mulligan was nearly pinned by Hayes's Tower of London finisher, but the burly cowboy kicked out at 2.5. Mulligan then cranks up his heavy duty arsenal and it was history for Hayes! After a big boot to the face, Mulligan clamps on THE BLACKJACK CLAW and it was nighty-night for LORD ALFRED. Time: (8:46).
Jon Moxley survived Mad Dog Vachon tonight in the ACCESS EVENT CENTRE! Vachon was as mean and ornery as ever, attacking Moxley well before the bell rings, and soon they both are wailing on each other, out on the arena floor! Moxley had the advantage for a bit, but the gritty veteran grabs a chair and the ref quickly calls for Mad Dog's disqualification! Time: (3:30). (DUD)
**********INTERMISSION**********
Bob Armstrong's long-awaited debut in Great North Wrestling ended in defeat tonight against former Inter-State Champion Curt Hennig in a really competitive match. Bob used just about every hold he could think of, and Hennig countered him move for move. Back and forth this match went until Curt dropped Armstrong throat first on the turnbuckle and made the cover. BUT Bob (to Hennig's surprise) kicks out just in time! Not wanting to waste anymore effort, Curt puts Armstrong down to the canvas for the 1,2,3 with his trusty HENNIG PLEX! Time: (16:23).
**World Tag-Team Title Shot Match** THE HEART-STOPPERS are back in the hunt for world championship gold! The Fantastic Ox Baker and Stan "The Man" (former GNW WORLD Tag-Team Champions) bested Greg Gagne and Jim Brunzell in a real scrapper of a match, to earn another shot to regain the straps! Stasiak and Baker unleashed their brutal offense and THE HIGH-FLYERS, after a brief offensive strike of their own, were toast! With Stasiak pounding Brunzell into unconsciousness, BAKER drives his HEART PUNCH nearly clean through Gagne's chest and then drops an elbow for good measure, before making the pin! Time: (11:53).
***GNW WORLD TITLE SHOT*** The amazing GNW 2024 run of Superfly Jimmy Snuka continues, as he hammers Greg Valentine tonight in front of the roaring MORDEN faithful! Snuka gets a shot a GNW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION John Tolos as his reward. Valentine didn't make it easy for The Superfly either. He tried to keep Snuka grounded, working almost exclusively on the legs, hoping to use his FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK for the win. After refusing to submit twice to Greg's painful finisher...SNUKA comes back! After a series of dropkicks, Jimmy POWERSLAMS Valentine in the center of the ring! SNUKA with the crowd on its feet spurring him on.....climbs to the top turnbuckle, and delivers his SUPERFLY LEAP for the 1,2,3! Time: (20:39)
