Great North Wrestling,held its first ever card tonight from the FARGODOME in Fargo,ND! GNW's base of operations emanates from Mankato Minnesota, but will cover the following states,MN,IA,WI,MT,ND,SD,MI and portions of our neighbors to the north Canada!Here are the results from tonight's historic card from Fargo,ND....winners will be in ALL CAPS.
Attendance:12,500
1. BUDDY ROSE VS. The Sandman.
This match went back and forth,in the end it spilled outside the ring where Sandman was DQ'ed for refusing to stop wailing Rose with a chair!
2.GIANT BABA vs. Iron Sheik.
Not even close as the big man never really let the Iranian get any momentum pinning him with relative ease.
3.JOHNNY VALENTINE vs. Killer Kowalski
Arguably the best match of the Night. These two legends battled in and out of the squared circle,at one point Kowalski looked nigh unstoppable, but Valentine weathered the storm and the brutal beating to pin the Killer!
4.JIMMY SNUKA vs. Ox Baker
Another slobber-knocker between 2 amazing competitors.Frustrated by Snuka's aerial assault,the Ox turned to his rule-breaking ways and was disqualified.The crowd roared as these two battled all the way back to the dressing-rooms.
5.ROAD WARRIORS vs.The Valiants for the inaugural GNW Tag-Team Championship!
The boys from NYC brought their A-game,but eventually the LOD exerted their will over the brothers, pinning Johnny Vailiant and thus became the very first team to hold GNW Tag-Team Gold!...bit we haven't seen the last of the Valiants
6.HARLEY RACE vs.Buddy Rogers for the GNW Heavyweight Championship!
A long and epic exhibition of professional wrestling!These 2 gladiators battled for nearly 60 minutes both having plenty of pin attempts.In the end Race was able to piledrive his way to the gold.
There you have it folks this Fed is officially in the books....next stop is next week live from the Xcel Energy Center in St.Paul,MN where the GNW will crown its first Inter-State Champion with an Eight Man Tournament!...

Excellent first card. You cannot go wrong with Race and the Warriors holding the gold. They both have been long term champions for me in my Maple Leaf Wrestling Fed.
Looking forward to the potential return matches for Rose v Sandman and Baker vs Superfly

Great North Wrestling update.....talent!!!Reply
From the GNW headquarters here is....Mean Gene Okerlund....
GENE: The excitement continues to build here in Great North Wrestling!...Fargo's show gave us our first World Champion/Harley Race, World Tag-Team Champs/Road Warriors..and the next big card will be in St.Paul, MN on Dec.30th.There we will crown the first GNW Inter-State Champion with an 8 man tournament!!!...more on that later.
We would like to remind you that GNW makes a stop in the great city of Duluth on 12/26/21 at the Civic Center with a great card....the MAIN EVENT....the feud between "Playboy" Buddy Rose and The Sandman adds another chapter with a no time limit, no DQ....match!...other stars appearing are Gorgeous George,Red Bastien,Buddy Rogers, Nikolai Volkoff with the Iron Sheik in tag action,King Kong Bundy,Johnny Valentine,Ox Baker...and more!! (Buddy Rose saunters in and grabs the mic)
Buddy Rose: Just stand back,I've got something to say to that hack-job calling himself a wrestler....yeah you Sandman! I'M a sveldt 217 lbs. of Chisled man (Gene rolls his eyes,chuckles to himself)...Tomorrow in Duluth I will show you tough!,I will out-wrestle you and then go Rogue and use your own tactics to leave you a quivering bloody mass!(hands the mic back to Okerlund)
GENE: WELL....we will see that powderkeg explode tomorrow night in Duluth...tickets still on sale...now back to business...on the 30th the 8 men vying for the Inter-State belt are ,Bobo Brazil,Nick Bockwinkel,Jimmy Vailiant,Red Bastein,Greg Valentine,King Kong Bundy,Jimmy Snuka and The Million Dollar Man-Ted Dibiase...get your tickets now, while they last!
Before we go new talent has been signed and will join the GNW ranks by Jan.1st 2022...just some of the amazing additions coming to this wrestling hotbed...One Man Gang,The Love Bros.,Exotic Adrian Street and Rob Van Dam....and other superstars as well....just a reminder Duluth on Dec. 26th....And St.Paul's Xcel Energy Center on Dec.30th....This Mean Gene Okerlund... with this update saying good night and the GREAT NORTH is heating up!

GNW ON TOUR Duluth,Minnesota 12/26/21
Another amazing card from GNW this time from The Duluth Civic Center.... here is the rundown,winners are in ALL CAPS.
ATTENDANCE: 5,463
1.JOHNNY VALIANT vs. Frank Gotch. The crowd in attendance was just as stunned as we were with the outcome of this opening bout..Mr. Valiant started out quickly using a low blow followed by a series of illegal tactics, to slow down the superior wrestling abilities of his opponent.Gotch finally getting his bearings controlled things until Johnny V.turned the tide again illegally,and took a powder out of the ring. Gotch having his fill of Valiant's antics, gave chase.Long story short Gotch could not stop his assault outside the ring and was DQ'ed.
2. OX BAKER vs. Gorgeous George. Baker who was fuming over his not getting another shot at Mr.Snuka,gave the crowd and the GNW powers that be a severe lambasting!His opponent primped and preened his way to the ring,George was animate that Mr.Baker go shower before they grappled....that was all it took to set Ox off,who then pummeled Gorgeous George from pillar to post...finishing him the DREADED HEART PUNCH.
3.IRON SHEIK/N.VOLKOFF vs. Red Bastien/Buddy Rogers.This match looked good on paper, but the actions of Buddy Rogers,much to Mr. Bastien's chagrin made this easy pickings for the team of Sheik/Volkoff...Rogers disdain for his partner's performance led to missed tag chances,done on purpose by Rogers. Eventually the "Nature Boy"...leaves the arena leaving Bastien to fend for himself and he was no match to the onslaught losing by submission to the Iron Sheik's CAMEL CLUTCH.
4.KING KONG BUNDY vs. JOHNNY VALENTINE 30 MINUTE TIME LIMIT DRAW. This match had it all...Bundy on the offensive early looking like it was going to be a short night.But Valentine with his intestinal fortitude surviving 2 pin attempts, hung in to turn the tables on the big man! As Valentine goes for the pin on the totally gassed Bundy,the ref got to the 2-count before time expired.....these 2 will certainly meet again...
5.MAIN EVENT NO DQ,NO TIME LIMIT
Buddy Rose vs. THE SANDMAN. This meeting was more brutal and raw than the previous encounter. Rose promising to out-wrestle Sandman did so with ease ...in the beginning. Rose missing a splash in the turnbuckle,was just what The Sandman needed. He then proceeded to choke,kick, bite and use every weapon at his disposal keeping the fight outside the ring. Rose had his moments outside the ring and both grapplers were bleeding profusely!..after throwing the "Playboy" once more into the ring post Sandman tosses his foe into the ring. Grabbing his Singapore Cane several times he falls on top of the motionless Rose and gets the "W".
What a night in Duluth!...once again GREAT NORTH WRESTLING doesn't disappoint....next is the 8-Man INTER-STATE TOURNEY 12/30/21 in St.Paul....see you there!!!

With another GNW Update!!!!....here's "MEAN" Gene Okerlund......
GENE:The excitement is mounting here in Great North Wrestling,as we look to crown our first GNW INTER-STATE Champion at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul on Dec.30th!This belt is the the final title as of now, here in GNW to be up for grabs! Who of the 8 men scheduled to fight it out,will join the GNW WORLD CHAMPION Harley Race, and the GNW Tag-Team Champions the Road Warriors as the inaugural INTER-STATE Champion? That will be settled on Dec. 30th at the sold out Xcel Energy Cen....(Ox Baker rips the mic from Okerlund's hand.....seething he stares directly into the camera....
OX:How dare you exclude the "Fantastic" Ox Baker from this tournament! For my entire career I've made a reputation beating people up!...I went down to Florida and Dusty Rhodes wanted a piece of me so I knocked him down! Dick the Bruiser thought he was a tough guy, and I came to Indiana and he cried "Oh....Ox please don't hurt me, I'm the World's Most Dangerous Wrestler...and I knocked him out....Listen up GNW...I am inevitable,I'm not going anywhere...I like to hurt people...and I'm gonna use this Heart-Punch to lay waste to anybody brave enough to step into the ring with OX BAKER!!!....stop shaking GENE I'm not gonna hit.....you!(Ox hands the mic back to a trembling Okerlund and stomps off.)
GENE:That is one angry OX,I certainly wouldn't want to be in his cross-hairs! WHEW...where was I,oh yes the first round of the big Inter-State Tournament has been set...here are the pairings:
Jimmy Snuka vs. Ted Dibiase
Greg Valentine vs. Bobo Brazil
Nick Bockwinkel vs. Red Bastien
Jimmy Valiant vs. King Kong Bundy
All the excitement takes place on Dec. 30th in St.Paul....this just announced another GNW ON TOUR card has just been scheduled for Jan.4 2022 at the TYSON EVENTS CENTER in Sioux City IA! 4 newly signed wrestlers will be debuting on that awesome card...keep checking here for more info in the coming days....This is MEAN Gene Okerlund saying good night and things are heating up in THE GREAT NORTH!

The GNW braves the abysmal Minnesota winter weather, to invade the Xcel Energy Center for the INAUGURAL INTER-STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT! The enormous raucous fans witnessed one for the ages....here are the round by round results....winners are in ALL CAPS.
Attendance :13,429
Round 1
1. JIMMY SNUKA vs. Ted Dibiase.
Dibiase started out strong with technical stuff, slowing his quicker more agile opponent....applying his Million Dollar Sleeper early, but too early and eventually Snuka got the upper-hand and out muscled Dibiase, and finished him after 2 consecutive "Superfly" leaps.
Time: 12:45.
2.JIMMY VALIANT vs. King Kong Bundy. UPSET of the night as Bundy has been having his troubles here in the GNW,not being able to run roughshod over his opponents.This one did go back and forth, and in and out of the ring.Bundy again runs out of steam and gets pinned by Jimmy's SUPER ELBOW in 20:45.
3.Greg Valentine vs. BOBO BRAZIL.
Another great pairing as these two started a melee before the bell could even ring! Valentine looked sharp early and the action spilled outside the ring, both men were nearly counted out and even disqualified. Brazil finally used his size and strength to turn the tide pinning Valentine after several Coco Butts followed by a HAMMER PUNCH.
Time 6:55.
4.NICK BOCKWINKEL vs. Red Bastien.
Brimming with confidence coming into the tournament,Bockwinkel shined in his opening match. Bastien was sharp and the chess game was on. Back and forth they chain-wrestled to perfection. Bastien missed a deathjump thinking he had Bockwinkel down ....big mistake as Nick took over from Bastien's miscue to win the match with his SLEEPER! Time 11:35.
----------INTERMISSION-------------
As the throng of fans return from the concessions and/or potty break..."MEAN" Gene Okerlund informs the crowd that the GNW will next be in action Jan. 4th in Sioux City IA, at THE TYSON EVENTS CENTER... with 6 big matches. The MAIN EVENT will be tonight's Champion in their first title defense...against JOHNNY VALENTINE...and the GNW TAG-TEAM CHAMPIONS the Road Warriors will be in non-title action vs. The Iron Sheik/N.Volkoff....plus the GNW debuts of D'lo Brown,One Man Gang, A mystery guest, and the debut of a really strange tag-team....as well as other superstars of GREAT NORTH WRESTLING...
ROUND 2
Jimmy Snuka vs. BOBO BRAZIL.
This one was exciting and physical. BOTH combatants had highs and lows, the ebb and flow was surprisingly fast considering these men had already wrestled one match...Snuka began to show signs of wearing down....and the cagey Brazil seized the opportunity laid before him delivering 2 patented COCO BUTTS,followed by a Death Valley Driver to get the pin. In a show of respect Brazil shook and raised Snuka's hand to the roar of the appreciative crowd. Time 13:35
NICK BOCKWINKEL vs. Jimmy Valiant.
This one sadly wasn't even close,as clearly Jimmy was spent after his epic first round match with King Kong Bundy...submitting in 8:43 to BOCKWINKEL'S Figure 4 Leg-Lock, thus earning the right to battle Bobo Brazil for the championship.

"MEAN" Gene also informs those in attendance,that the GNW will also be stopping in Rochester, MN on Jan. 14th with another awesome card featuring a title Defense by GNW WORLD CHAMPION HARLEY RACE....and reminds them to keep their ears peeled for the next GNW UPDATE for more info on the next two stops, in the coming days....NOW IT'S TIME FOR THE GNW INTER-STATE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH...the huge crowd roars in approval....here we go!
------ GNW INTER-STATE CHAMPIONSHIP------
Bobo Brazil vs. NICK BOCKWINKEL.
The two battle-worn men, duke it out with everything they could muster...Bockwinkel at one point tossed Brazil from the ring in frustration..they both pummeled each other outside the squared circle nearly getting counted out....there were pin attempts by both men,almost taking turns...finally after working on Brazil's legs...keeping him on the mat late in the match..and kicking him repeatedly in his exposed ribs, BOCKWINKEL slaps on the FIGURE-FOUR and garners the belt....time 34:37....
MEAN GENE: Congratulations Nick Bockwinkel on becoming the very 1st GNW INTER-STATE CHAMPION........
BOCKWINKEL:It was never in doubt,but thanks anyway....tonight you witnessed perfection personnafied....and everybody in the back and in this whole company...if you want it, come get it...lace them boots, and pack a lunch..it's gonna be a loooong day...for you!...time to celebrate! (Bockwinkel heads to the back,the belt held high as the fans boo.)
GENE: There you have it folks, what a night, travel safely home,it's awful outside...but IT'S HEATING UP IN THE GREAT NORTH!!!!...., GOOD NIGHT see you all again soon.

GENE:The stars are eager to compete here in the GNW after the crowing of our first GNW INTER-STATE Champion last night in St. Paul! Congratulations to NICK BOCKWINKEL on his hard earned victory, and to all those who participated in that historic event.The GNW board has been receiving countless requests from stars from all corners of the wrestling world to come and ply their trade here in The Great North!!!....(Harley Race walks in)...here is our World Champion Harley Race!!!!
RACE: Thanks for the warm reception Mr. Okerlund, as always the pleasure is all yours. That's right the world's biggest stars are heading here....because the greatest World Champion is here. You may like me, you may loathe me...but one thing you can never do is call me a coward. GOOD GUY,BAD GUY, somewhere in between you all will get a chance to wrestle the best HARLEY RACE, and one by one you will go back where you came from...title-less and beaten. (Race turns and leaves)
GENE:There you have it folks, straight from the Champ's lips to your ears....as for the recent signings there will be a influx of big names coming in the next few weeks, starting on Jan.4th, 2022 at the GNW ON TOUR Card(2), that will be held in the TYSON EVENTS CENTER in Sioux City, IA..debuting at this event will be....D'LO BROWN,ONE MAN GANG,....(before he can utter the next word, he smells something coughs and is greeted by GORGEOUS GEORGE... who wipes the mic with a handkerchief...
GORGEOUS G: You know Mr. Okerlund, I so rarely make an unannounced appearance among you peasants, but I have exciting news.. on Jan.4,the lowly citizens of Sioux City IA, will witness the formation of the greatest tag-team in the history of this great sport....for I have found a man worthy to be my partner...hard to believe I know....I am not at liberty to say who he is...confidentiality clauses and all very boring don't you think? Perhaps a hint....he's bold....dashingly handsome of course, you might even say he has an EXOTIC air about him......all the Greatest Teams have nicknames...The Blackjacks,Road Warriors, Valiant Brothers, Fantastics, Fabulous Ones *YAWNS*...I could go on all day...BUT get ready because on Jan.4th THE IRRESISTIBLES are coming...thanks GENE carry on...
GENE:Seems one of our new-comers has aligned himself with the GORGEOUS one, they will be in tag action for the first time ever against the aforementioned Valiant Bros....in Sioux City IA, on Jan 4th...get those tickets...the huge surprise of the night will be the 4th match on this great card where "NATURE BOY"Buddy Rogers will be facing the biggest GNW signee to date....all I can say is be there!... another huge match will be a non-title fracas between the Iron Sheik/ N.Volkoff and the GNW TAG-TEAM CHAMPIONS the Road Warriors. ROUNDING out the night will be an INTER-STATE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH between Johhny Valentine and Champion Nick Bockwinkel...

1/14/22..The Mayo Civic Center Rochester,MN and on 1/18/22 GNW ON TOUR makes its South Dakota debut in Rapid City SD, at the RAPID CITY GRAND HALL...more great matches and debuts there as well. GENE:On behalf of all the folks in the front office, behind the scenes, and of course the talent,GNW would like to wish our amazing fans a very Happy New Year...we have lots to get to as we head into this first month here in 2022...so...(Nick Bockwinkel strolls in unannounced,with the INTER-STATE gold tucked in his left arm)
BOCKWINKEL: Gene I know you have a lot to share with everyone,....but I don't care...(Okerlund rolls his eyes)..I have a message for my next opponent JOHNNY VALENTINE....I don't know how or what strings you pulled to get a shot Jan.4 in Sioux City IA,but you are next. SURE you're tough I have to give you that...but you're also very STUPID to accept this match...You see you know deep down, that you couldn't beat me on my worst day, hell you can't even hold my jockstrap you imbecile....on Jan 4 I'm gonna make an example of you in front of this whole company...and beat the last few remaining brain cells out of your head....(Nick turns and strides off camera)
GENE: WELL....that was a very stern message being sent by Mr.Bockwinkel, but I'm sure the rough and tough Johnny Valentine will be more than up to the challenge in front of the great fans in Sioux City on Jan 4th, that should be an amazing main event...again 5 other outstanding matches as well with GNW stars THE Road Warriors, Buddy Rogers,Greg the Hammer,and 4 GREAT NORTH debuts on the card...BE THERE!!

TYSON EVENTS CENTER, Sioux City, IA
GNW keeps on rolling with another stellar card in its IOWA debut...here are the results....winners in ALL CAPS.
ATTENDANCE: 9,469
1.D'LO BROWN vs. One Man Gang
This opener,turned out to be an eye opener for GANG, who may have underestimated his opponent. After surviving the initial OMG assault, D'lo moves out of the corner just in time to avoid a big splash, then pins GANG after executing a perfect springboard moonsault at the 10:43 mark!!
2."THE IRRESISTIBLES" G.GEORGE/A.STREET vs.The Valiant Bros.
Yes that's right THE IRRESISTIBLES made their debut in style beating the veteran team of Jimmy/Johnny Valiant. With Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy" blaring through the house speakers, THE IRRESISTIBLES sauntered down to the ring as the crowd voiced its displeasure! After much ado about nothing, and after the impromtu fashion show the bell rang. AFTER that things got serious as Gorgeous George and Johnny got things started.Back and forth these teams battled it out with the tide turning outside the ring where Adrian Street slammed Jimmy's head into the time-keepers table. Avoiding the DQ, he tosses Valiant back into the ring and finishes him with a Flying Crucifix from the top turnbuckle! Time 14:30
3.Greg Valentine vs. BOBO BRAZIL.
In a rugged contest, neither wrestler seemed to be able to dominate the other. With the power game pretty even, Brazil surprisingly the more agile, dug into his limited repertoire and out maneuvered the plodding ground game of "The Hammer". And with a choke, a kick, and toss Greg manages to get the fight out to the floor. There all hell breaks loose and the referee disqualifies VALENTINE for excessive chair usage...time 11:50

Ring Announcer Brian Sager, reminds everyone about the next big GNW ON TOUR card to be held in ROCHESTER, MN on Jan 14th...plus upcoming events scheduled for THE TYSON EVENTS CENTER....the crowd makes their way back to their seats...and we are back to the Action!***************
4.Randy Savage vs. BUDDY ROGERS.
YES the surprise they have been teasing...the much awaited unveiling of the newest superstar to ink with GNW THE MACHO MAN strides down to the ring as the crowd go nuts!!!...his opponent the "NATURE BOY" doesn't seem too impressed...the ref checks both men and the bell rings.....Savage naturally the aggressor pushes the pace early with his power game,and Rogers is frustrated...but the cagey Nature Boy soon has his offense humming on all cylinders and back and forth we go....Savage nearly gets the pin with a dive off the top rope, but Rogers kicks out...the match rages with each move and counter move finally a moment that would change things...a double-clothesline...then Rogers the more conditioned athlete...makes Savage submit after wearing him down further, using his patented figure four grape-vine. Time 23:20
5.I.SHEIK/N.VOLKOFF vs. Road Warriors (Ch) non-title match.
In true Warriors fashion the Champs storm the ring and start pounding the daylights out of VOLKOFF and tossing the IRON SHEIK out of the ring, the bell sounds and the carnage continues.The big Russian manages to weather the storm and turns the tide to down ANIMAL. Using quick tags and high impact moves, the Champs are shell-shocked. Animal manages a hot tag and HAWK comes in with a head of steam and clears the ring. Outside the ring a melee ensues the ref had his hands full. VOLKOFF and ANIMAL trading blows on the floor, while the Iron Sheik drives Hawk's head into the ringpost and rolls the dazed big man into the ring. Being the legal participants the SHEIK slaps on his CAMEL CLUTCH and Hawk taps out before Animal can make a save! Time 15:32, With the win the Sheik/Volkoff earn a shot for the belts at the GNW ON TOUR SHOW in RAPID CITY, SD on Jan.18th.

**Johnny Valentine vs. NICK BOCKWINKEL***
The crowd witnessed a battle of epic proportions as both men came into this match on a mission. Valentine with a big chip on his shoulder after the derogatory comments made by Bockwinkel in interviews...came in guns blazing bringing the fight to the champ. Bockwinkel was taken aback, and quickly tries to apologize, but Valentine continues his onslaught undeterred. Bodyslams,knuckle sandwiches and vicious kicks are Valentine's rebuttal. Finally the champ manages some resistance by going outside to catch a breath....Valentine reaches through the ropes,and Bockwinkel makes him pay with an eye gouge and a choking on the ropes sending the challenger to his knees. Then one failed pin attempt by Bockwinkel(with a handful of tights),the champ then starts the grueling wear down offensive. SEVERAL suplexes, a Sleeper and some leg drops on the throat, Bockwinkel slaps on the Abdominal Stretch and gets the submission win in 31:12...his hand raised he wipes his brow and flings his sweat on the downed Valentine and leaves the ring.
What another mammoth GNW card here in the great state of Iowa, we now move back to the Gopher State for a huge WORLD TITLE MATCH in Rochester,MN on Jan.14th....hope to see you there!
