1/18/2022 GNW ON TOUR (4) RAPID CITY GRAND HALL, Rapid City SD.
The GNW makes its highly anticipated, long-awaited South Dakota debut! Here are the results winners are in ALL CAPS!
ATTENDANCE: 8,746
BRIAN SAGER: Welcome great wrestling fans of South Dakota! We are so glad to be here to bring you the best in professional
wrestling.....the stars of GREAT NORTH WRESTLING. Grab a seat and your favorite beverage.....Let's Do THIS!!! (the packed house
roars in approval) here we go!!!
1. RICK RUDE vs. Red Bastien. Bastien continues to disappoint with his efforts here in GNW. Rude makes short work of Red in his
impressive debut. After one single offensive move from Bastien (hip toss), the Ravishing one brutalized his opponent with power
move after power move, finishing Red off with a textbook "Rude Awakening" and getting the pin. Bastien winless and again
unimpressive might be on the roster bubble. Time 4:45.
2. "Bruiser" Bob Sweetan vs. FRANK GOTCH. Gotch continues building on the momentum from his last match and gets another
victory. Sweetan looking to make an impression in his GNW debut looked good early on. After assessing the skill of his opponent,
Gotch, as is his nature formulates a strategy for dealing with Sweetan, relying on his speed and agility. Sprinkling in a few wear-
down holds, Gotch soon has full match control, getting Sweetan to tap out using his GUILLOTINE CHOKE. Time: 11:13.
3. Ox Baker/The Destroyer vs, BOBO BRAZIL/AHMED JOHNSON. Ox Baker continues to turn a blind eye to the rules and he
and his partner decide to jump their opponents before the bell. Unfortunately for them Brazil/Johnson are more than up to the task.
In no time at all the action spills out to the floor, both sides wailing on each other. In typical Ox fashion, he has either won decisively
or been disqualified, tonight it was the latter as the referee DQ's him and the Destroyer. They continue their assault and Brazil and
Ahmed (in his debut) gave as good as they got. The two teams fight all the way back to the locker-room the rowdy crowd egging
them on. I'm sure after the heat generated here tonight, these guys will be facing each other again real soon. Time: 10:37.
BRIAN SAGER: WOW fans we are off to some start here!!!! Go grab yourselves a hotdog, a beer or a pop, we will return to the
action after this brief intermission.

4. Giant Baba vs. KILLER KOWALSKI. The Killer after dropping his last match to Frank Gotch, was looking at a pretty difficult
row to hoe in tangling with the undefeated Baba. This one was intense, both men proving why they belong here in the GNW!
Giant Baba chopping away seem to be on his way to another win. But Kowalski had other plans, taking his fight to the floor, using
the floor, the apron even the steps he battered the giant. Returning to the ring he used THE CLAW both to the stomach and the head
effectively, wearing Baba down, then getting the win with an awesome running power-slam! Time: 15:33.

5. MR. WRESTLING II vs. Al Snow(ch). Many of us wondered how long Snow could hold the belt, well the answer came tonight.
A solid match between 2 amazing men. With his vast repertoire of holds and counter moves the wily veteran soon had the champ
confused and frustrated. Snow failing to get the pin two times with his finisher misses a deathjump and leaves the ring....Wrestling
II executes a perfect dive outside on top of the dazed SNOW...then tossing the champ back into the ring and getting a 2 count,
Mr. Wrestling gets the 1,2,3, after 3 million $$ Knee Lifts. After getting his championship belt in a show of great sportsmanship the
two men shake hands...(the crowd wildly cheers) Time: 23:57.
************************MAIN EVENT GNW TAG-TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP*********************************
6. The Iron Sheik/Nickolai Volkoff vs. THE ROAD WARRIORS (ch). After the embarrassment of losing a non-title match to SHEIK/VOLKOFF
the champions were looking to show everyone in attendance that it was a fluke. They charged the ring and attacked! The challengers had no answer
for the barrage of kicks and punches, eventually a battered Volkoff was given the "heave ho" out of the ring on his head. With his enforcer incapacitated
the Iranian found himself at the mercy of THE LEGION OF DOOM. They made short order of him with a perfectly executed DOOMSDAY DEVICE. The
champions retain their belts and regain their dignity....Time: 7:30. They hoist the belts on to their massive shoulders and march to the back.
BRIAN SAGER: How about that RAPID CITY....what a night and what an awesome crowd you have been, be safe getting home,

Here with the latest news from GREAT NORTH WRESTLING, from company headquarters in Mankato, "MEAN" GENE OKERLUND!
GENE: Fans there is so much to go over, I truly don't know where to start. On Jan.18 we had a successful debut in the great state
of South Dakota, where the amazing fans witnessed the crowning of a new GNW INTER-STATE CHAMPION!................MR. WRESTLING II
(The new GNW INTER-STATE CHAMP enters shakes Okerlund's hand)
Wrestling II: Thanks Gene, first I'd like to thank the great fans in Rapid City, for the support and my opponent and former champion Al Snow for a
hard fought clean match. I have held many titles as you all know, and I am eager to defend this belt against the very best here in GREAT NORTH WRESTLING!
Be it Nick Bockwinkel, Rick Rude, Bobo Brazil, Buddy Rose, Al Snow, even that no good lowdown Ox Baker, I will be ready for any challenger on any night!
It's great to represent this fine organization....I'll do my very best, thanks for the time MEAN GENE...(WRESTLING II exits)

Great North Wrestling returns to the Civic Center in Duluth, match for match our best card so far.....winners
will be in ALL CAPS!!!!!

BRIAN SAGER: HELLO great wrestling fans of Duluth....we have an awesome card..Let's Do This.....
1. DICK MURDOCH/KARL KOX vs. BOB ROOP/SAILOR ART THOMAS. 20 minute draw.
GENERALLY draws are boring,in my opinion, but this one was action packed.Murdoch/Kox isolated Thomas most of the contest failing to pin him 3 times,Roop out wrestled everyone (no surprise)....having Kox in a Abdominal Stretch, but Karl refused to submit in the waning minutes...the time expires with all 4 men throwing fists in the center of the ring....what a start!
2.BUDDY ROSE VS. D'lo Brown....This one started with Brown executing arm drag upon arm drag, hip toss,hip toss, and Rose powders out of the ring. After getting his thoughts together Rose took shortcuts and punished the young star.Quickly losing his temper D'LO was disqualified for outside antics that were retaliatory but caught by the ref.Time:7:45
3.Baron Von Raschke vs.BOBO BRAZIL
The Baron stomped his way to an early lead in this bout. Despite his best efforts he could not keep big Bobo down.Bobo using a series of bodyslams, suplexes,and a forearm or two managed 4 unsuccessful pins on the German.Raschke never gets to use the claw but manages to get a few pin attempts himself. After slamming Brazil into the ring post the Baron gets a verbal barrage from the angry fans as he climbs the turnbuckle.Bobo manages to get to his feet and rushes Raschke suplexing him out of the corner off the second rope!...and with a falling COCO BUTT gets the win.Time:12:27
SAGER:Wow fans, how are you liking this?(crowd roaring so loud the building seems to shake)...With this win the GNW governing board has made it official BOBO BRAZIL will face GNW WORLD Champion HARLEY RACE at the Wild West Show in Billings MT on Feb.3rd.....we will be back with 3 more big matches after this brief Intermission........

4.SGT.SLAUGHTER vs.The Destroyer. The sarge weathers a technical barrage by the quicker more agile Destroyer winning after a brawl outside the ring goes in Slaughter's favor he dumps his opponent in the middle of the ring and gets the submission win with the CAMEL CLUTCH. TIME:15:19.
5.IRRESISTIBLES vs. The Blackjacks. Another stunning victory by the team of Gorgeous George and Adrian Street! Mulligan/Lanza did not go down without a fight having nearly 3 pinfalls during the contest.With STREET keeping Mulligan busy outside the ring GORGEOUS GEORGE gets the weakened Lanza to tap out via a spinning toe-hold. The Irresistibles will now face the GNW TAG-TEAM Champs(ROAD WARRIORS) at the WILD WEST SHOW EVENT.Time 24:18.

Ted Dibiase vs. MR WRESTLING II(Ch).
Dibiase came in with victory on his agenda, but was out-wrestled by the champ.Both men had high-spots, Dibiase nearly pinning Wrestling II with a vicious crossbody block from the top turnbuckle...the war spilled outside the ring where the champ suplexed Dibiase on the floor,then tossing him back into the ring finishes his challenger with his patented Million $$ Knee Lift.Wrestling II will defend his belt against FRANK GOTCH at the WILD WEST SHOW.Time:17:32.

1.Tony Atlas vs THE GREAT KABUKI.
The Asian assassin was too agile for Mr.USA, never letting Atlas catch a breath or use his power advantage. Kabuki pins Atlas after using his ORIENTAL LEG DROP, TIME 9:10.
2.MAGNUM T.A. vs Big John Studd
Magnum knowing he needed to start quickly,used his speed early,keeping Studd off balance. The match spills outside where Magnum puts the big man through the table,then tosses him back in the ring...pinning him with a deathjump crossbody (snake-eyes). A stunned Big John attacks the celebrating Magnum from behind leaving him prone in the ring as security storms the arena. Magnum is helped to the back, but isn't seriously wounded. Time: 12:14.
3. JUNKYARD DOG vs Mr. Olympia.
JYD takes the measure of Olympia's agility heavy attack and finishes him via a big bodyslam followed by his finisher THUMP.
Time: 8:51.
4."Hercules" Hernandez vs TERRY GORDY
Despite using his "Backbreaker Rack" early in this one,Gordy manages to turn the tide,and back and forth we go. After taking advantage outside the ring GORDY tosses a dazed Hernandez back into the squared circle...2 running lariats later,
Hercules is pinned. Time: 11:23.
SAGER: WE will continue this amazing event after this brief Intermission...

5. KILLER KARL KRUPP vs Gene Kiniski
Krupp's sneaky tactics neutralize Kiniski early, and soon both men are brawling out on the floor. Neither men being DQ'ED Krupp damages Gene's back before tossing Kiniski back into the ring, making him submit via Krupp's dreaded HANGMAN. Time 6:52.
6. Butch Reed vs SUPER-DESTROYER.
POWER vs POWER,both men flexed theirs early and often, Reed looked the the Victor but SUPER D's loaded mask headbutt said otherwise, and he pins Reed.
Time: 9:00
7. Jerry Lawler vs. BUZZ SAWYER.
Match of the Night! These 2 nearly went the full 20 minute time limit. Punches were thrown, kicks were many, Sawyer even BIT Lawler a couple of times. The action spilled outside more than once as these warriors thrilled the packed arena. FINALLY missing a splash in the turnbuckle Lawler gets pinned via POWERSLAM....Time: 19:45.
8. AUSTIN IDOL vs Buddy Landel
Landel gets a 2-count early with a clothesline that caught Idol off guard. Austin stems the early assault delivering an elbow to Landel as he charged into the turnbuckle. But somehow the "Nature Boy" gets 2 more unsuccessful pin attempts.
After kicking out of the second one, Idol uses his strength to weaken Landel. Taking Buddy to the mat, working on his opponent's legs LANDEL submits to the LAS VEGAS LEGLOCK...Time 10:17

Just got caught up on your amazing fed, gnw2022! Definitely an old school 80's vibe--best kind of vibe! I love the way you write Ox Baker. My earliest wrestling memory is watching Ox Baker on Wrestling At The Chase with my dad. He became one of my favorites at a young age along with Dick The Bruiser & Dick Murdoch--all classic heels. Most of today's heels would wet their pants if they came face to face with Baker, Bruiser, or Murdoch! "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred is a great choice of music for Adrian Street & Gorgeous George. I once used that for "Pretty" Boy Larry Sharpe & "Playboy" Buddy Rose who were managed by "Sexy" Sherri Martel. Hopefully your Irresistibles team has as much success for you as my Flamboyant Ones(Street & George) have had for me. Gotta love the heels! I'm glad the "Universal Heartthrob" won the Main Event of your last show. Austin Idol is definitely one of the most underrated heels of all time. Keep those dice dizzy, and go all old school heels! |

Your pic looks like someone who would've threatened me when I was a ring announcer--or manage to the territory's heavyweight title when I was a manager. I bet you really scared the little kids, and to that I say: good for you! |

GENE:Great North Wrestling is steam-rolling through the first month of this new year, and it looks like there is no slowing down as we head into FEBRUARY!!
Last night in Oshkosh WI,16 men entered the ring,and 8 punched their ticket into the GNW...(in comes GNW WORLD CHAMPION HARLEY RACE)....
RACE:Gene, I'm sure you have a lot to get to,but it really doesn't mean much to me. When you are The Champ, you do what you want,when you want...Yes GREAT NORTH WRESTLING is the pinnacle of the wrestling world...and who better than the very best in this company(holds the gold up to the camera) to welcome the new challengers? You have made it this far, congratulations. If you have any brains at all, you will now turn around and make a hasty exit, because you can't handle this!...that's all I should have to say,you have been warned......(he hands the mic back to Okerlund and exits.)

I'll be rooting for Race & Rogers to win their matches so they can face each other down the road.
Irresistibles will give Road Warriors a run for their money.
OX Baker will destroy D'Lo Brown. GNW needs to reserve a room at the Billings, MT, Hospital because Brown will be taking a free ride there courtesy of the Ox Baker Stretcher Service!
