Max Shield is one of my favorites and always seems forgotten when people talk about the all time greats. made the BEST OF set, but I agree he is mostly forgotten when people speak of the all-time greats. His war with Mandrill is one of the most EPIC feuds in G.W.F. history. |

Max made the BEST OF set, but I agree he is mostly forgotten when people speak of the all-time greats. Max Shield is in the Best of the GWF set. 1st ballot inductee. Yeah he made the best of set but his dorky art was used lol. The best of set is an accolade for sure. He just seems lost in the shuffle. |

I loved his updated art too but it was - I don’t want to say sloppy or messy because that sounds like it’s bad art - but it’s something - His original has a real classic comic book look. And Max isn’t an A+ guy like a Thantos, Star Warrior, Chaos etc but he’s at the top of the next tier there w Mandrill. |

Grunge, Colossus, Pegasus, Rising Sun. I’m sure there were a few more. |

Max is a great character but has never won anything in my fed. I’m only 2106 so he still has plenty of time. But that’s 6 years without a belt. I would of expected something by now. I agree he is in that just below top tier category.
Interesting comment about the art. I don’t think Bendis drawing of him is too great either. But as mentioned it’s all so subjective. He had some good ones and sometimes the heavy shade created a classic. Nefarus springs to mind. I do think the current line up is the greatest of all. So spoilt with current releases for both COTG and legends. I guess it helps with the colour cards. I could never go back to black and white
