So it's been a million years since I've posted, but I finally ordered 2123 and the wrestling has been great so far. I had a whole fresh batch of title tournaments, of course, to fill the vacant titles. Well, they all got taken care of, except the Heavy Metal (hardcore) title, which I just didn't have time for that weekend. Well when I finally got around to it a couple weeks later, Endgame had plenty to say about it.
Before the tournament could get underway, Endgame came out and made a formal protest about there being an "officially sanctioned hardcore title." He wanted the whole division to be de-sanctioned and the tournament to be permanently cancelled.
Well, I was game, so I put it up as the conclusion of a Fight the Power match against Iron Hand. If Endgame won, the division would be indefinitely shut down. If Iron Hand won, Endgame would have to join the tournament and be forced to compete all year long in hardcore matches. Well, as is becoming a trend, Iron Hand won without too much trouble at all.
So all of a sudden, the taken aback Endgame had to join the tournament. Well, he conceded to play along, but announced that despite being scheduled to fight in hardcore matches, he vowed that he would NOT participate in the hardcore aspects of the match himself, and would continue to fight clean even if his opponent did not. He said that he would win the matches so quickly that he would not even allow his opponent time to bring hardcore tactics against him.
Well, this vow he made and this vow he fulfilled. I want to say that I didn't have this idea until Endgame fought his first match and it just happened to be so fast that nothing hardcore happened. Well, he kept progressing through the tournament, and won each match without going hardcore. He made it all the way to the end of the tournament, along the way beating Nosfera, Kill Prey, Wolf, and then finally Swarm in the finals, to become the FIRST EVER NON-HARDCORE GWF HEAVY METAL CHAMPION! So he has vowed to keep the title non-hardcore unless someone can take it away from him.
I just had to post this event, because Endgame's personality was expressed through the dice so perfectly, that I didn't even have some of these ideas until they were playing out all by themselves through the dice rolls. Once again, the dice speak clearly their will! Can you guess how many fighters out there are going to be hunting for Endgame's head? Especially knowing that they can bring illegal tactics and he won't retaliate. Can Endgame keep the title under those extreme conditions? How long will Endgame stand for this before he caves in and goes hardcore himself?
