There's someone else near the end of his long career, as Troy has said. His card could be top seed. If anyone wants a hint, he had the run in 1978 Jimmy Valiant? Edit: Lou Thesz??

Wow that’s such an interesting and cool tidbit. This game is such a teaching tool.

Hand to God... I thought Thesz had already been mentioned. He worked for Jerry Jarrett for like six months, right? Mostly as an up yours to Gulas?

yup. Gulas screwed him so Thesz did what Thesz does.

yup. Gulas screwed him so Thesz did what Thesz does. That should be a tee shirt. I still think I'd take Savage in the tourny. Sadly I have parenting commitments so I can't participate. Do hope to make it back in time for the panel though.

There were actual face-to-face negotiations for a title unification match between Lou and Bruno. Supposedly, Bruno would win the NWA title from Lou, the WWWF title would go away and Lou would take back the belt a year or so down the line. Negotiations fizzled because nobody could agree on the money, and because neither Lou nor Bruno trusted Bruno's promoters.

Lou didn't have a ton of respect for McMahon, not a big shocker to understand why. I also question if McMahon would have stopped using the WWWF belt, or if he would have brought it back quickly - for those times when Bruno was touring other territories.

I didn't even realize he had worked in Memphis for any appreciable, contiguous, amount of time. Cool to learn. I don't really remember him mentioning it in Hooker...or it's sort sort of glanced over.
