Classic Era GWF
The great and powerful GODSEND, the people in charge of running GWF and our fine sponsors, The Soylent Corporation, makers of Soylent Red, Soylent Yellow and brand-new Soylent Green are proud to bring to you Classic Era GWF. This new program in the GWF family will take a look back at the formative years of the great GWF.
GWF started in the second quarter (2nd Q) of October in 2086. The first show had tournaments to crown the first Galaxy Heavyweight Champion and Galaxy Tag Team Champions. They were won by wrestling legend Omega and time traveling newcomers the Greek Gods respectively. On the 3rd Q of October show, they crowned the first Interplanetary Champion, Executioner. Title changes happening in late 86 include the Gladiators winning the Galaxy Tag Team titles in 4th Q of November, Thantos winning the Galaxy title in 1st Q of December and the Greek Gods winning back their Galaxy Tag Team Championship in 3rd Q of December.
We will be picking up the action starting with 1st Q of January 2087. We will look at most, if not all of the great wrestling action from those bygone days. We will also hear from time to time the men and women who lived thru those exciting days. A list of the current champions plus the numerous groups and factions that had formed can be found below. We hope you enjoy this look into the past.

Not sure how long the bug will keep me rolling dice for this era but plan on having some fun by keeping things simple. Well as simple as can be for me.

If that problem is Commander Sam, he will do it at a discount. - Vanity is looking at someone and telling them how amazing they are. The camera pans and he is talking to himself in a mirror.
Ghengis Khan beat Pulsar with a standing karate kick.
- Pulsar kicked out of Khan's finisher but did little else to brag about.
Star Warrior beat Death Knight with a forearm hammer.
- Star Warrior dominated from bell to bell.
Gladiators over Renegade & Vanity when Massacre beat Vanity with Massacre Slam.
- The Gladiators were dominating. - Brute hit a Decapitator on Vanity, Renegade tried the save but was cut off yet Vanity kicked out. - Vanity kicked out of a second Decapitator. - After their win the Gladiators made belt gestures around their waist, making their intentions clear.
Closing promo video
- Invincible Krakan looking over some papers. Possible working on strategy. - Exo-King sitting on a throne talking to Killer Queen. He says it's time he had some gold to go with his crown. - Omega is talking to his son, Star Warrior. Mutant upset Omega with a face mangler.
- Perhaps Omega overlooked Mutant as he was stunned by the clumsy brute.
Closing promo video
- Renegade says he is getting tired of losing. It's time for him and Vanity to pick their game up. - Executioner shining up the Interplanetary Championship belt...then his axe blade. - An announcement that on the next show the Greek Gods will defend their titles against the Gladiators.

3rd Q, January 2087
Opening promo video
- Star Warrior issues a challenge to Exo-King for a match. - Massif putting on an exhibition of strength via some powerlifting.
Omega beat Mutant with a Tomahawk Thrust.
- Omega was looking to get payback after losing in the last main event. - Mutant attacked Omega before the bell. But that and using his finisher twice was not enough to score another upset win.
Comrade Terror submitted Pulsar with a Comrade Neck Clutch.
- Terror was in control from bell to bell.
Greek Gods beat Gladiators when Proteus pinned Massacre after an Overhead Toss in a Galaxy Tag Team title match to retain.
- A really good that went back and forth. - Once the match was over Wolf ran in and attacked Proteus. The three on two advantage let the Gladiators of Aethra get the better of the Greek Gods. That is until Beast-Rider ran down to even the odds. - The six men were brawling wildly as security came down to try and pull them apart. - Commissioner Green appeared on the jumbotron. He orders the six wrestlers to stop fighting and tells them they will be involved in a six-man tag team match on the next show.
Closing promo video
- Pit Viper, who hasn't been seen since suffering a vicious attack at the hands of Ghengis Khan and Mutant back in November, is back and wearing a wrestling mask. He promises he will get revenge against The Society of Death. - Invincible Krakan says if little Pit Viper wants him and his Society he knows where to find them. - Exo-King accepts Star Warrior's challenge. But Warrior will be...crushed, when he comes up the loser.

4th Q, January 2087
Opening promo video
- Lord Nexus says he will beat Executioner and win the Interplanetary Championship. - Omega says he is glad he got payback against Mutant. But he needs to beat him one more time as they are tied 1 win apiece. After that, he will focus on winning the Galaxy Championship from Thantos.
Greek Gods and Beast-Rider beat Gladiators and Wolf after Beast-Rider hit a Bulldog Ride on Massacre.
- A short match as neither team made a tag. Massacre seemed to be injured before the Bulldog which might account for his lack of a kick out.
Star Warrior beat Exo-King after a Nova Launch.
- Exo-King talked a big game but couldn't back it up as the young second generation star dominated him.
Executioner over Lord Nexus with a Headsman Guillotine in an Interplanetary title match to retain.
- Nexus put up a good fight but Executioner was too vicious.
Closing promo video
- Mutant pacing around in a locker room as he makes incomprehensible speech like sounds. Then he sees the camera and heads toward it as the picture cuts out. - Commander Sam says if Terror is looking for him, he's an easy man to find.

Nice action so far. Exo-King always feel short for me no matter how hard or how many times I pushed him.

Thanks for following and the comments. I was hoping for a more competitive match but figured Star Warrior would get the win. Debating if Exo-King goes after single glory now or if will try tag team action.

Narrator: Stay tuned after the episode is over. We have a bonus as we will play part of an interview Star Warrior did a few years back.
Opening promo video
- Thantos says he's fine with facing Omega at this new PPV. He gets to be in the main event and pick up an easy win. - Pit Viper says he wants a match with any member of The Society of Death. They are all guilty in his eyes and will pay the price. - Gladiators showing off the Tag Team title belts. Massacre said they told everyone they'd get the belts back and they did. It's just what Aethrans do.
Commander Sam submitted Pulsar with an abdominal stretch.
- Both men shook hands before the bell which the fans loved. - Sam dominated most of the match but Pulsar showed his toughness and grittiness. - Pulsar kicked out of four covers, once after a Sam's Atomic Drop.
Ghengis Khan & Mutant vs Renegade & Vanity ended in a time limit draw.
- Renegade was getting beat on by Khan. Khan hit his finisher twice but couldn't get the pin. - Renegade looked toward Vanity for a save but Vanity was primping on the apron. - Renegade countered a move by Mutant and angrily tagged Vanity in who was unhappy about locking up with Mutant. - The rest of the match saw frequent tags, especially from Vanity who stayed in the ring as little as possible, but no threats of a pin.
Star Warrior defeated Death Knight with boxing jabs.
- A short match. - Death Knight rushed Warrior in the corner but crashed into the ring post. - Star Warrior rolled Knight up after that then finished him with the jabs.
Closing promo video
- Lord Nexus talks about how good Pulsar has looked lately. He says the young man has a great future. - Renegade is tossing items around in the locker room. He is ranting about how Vanity is more concerned with his appearance than on winning matches.
-----------------------------
Question: How did the idea for Battle Among The Stars come about?
Star Warrior: Huh, well I guess you have to go back to the start of GWF. When the Earth Mars Promotion (EMP) went under due to financial issues my dad and some others in the business saw an opening for a new promotion. Part of that vision dad had included a PPV on the level of a WrestleMania, a Starrcade, a Double or Nothing or a Bound For Glory. Before the first show even happened my dad, Commander Sam, Thantos or as he was still known then Cosmos, Invincible Krakan and a few of the Board of Directors plus some marketing people were sitting around discussing ideas for names of PPVs. I'm not sure who came up with Battle but I believe it was Scott Peterson, one of the marketing guys. My dad fell in love with it. He said the double meaning of taking place in space, sort of to say, plus the wrestlers beings stars just set great. Once he heard it there was no other name in the running for the main PPV.
Question: What was the feeling in the locker room about Omega being in the first main event of Battle Among The Stars?
Star Warrior: It was kind of a mixed bag. I think a few in the so-called villain camp might have wanted to be the one to face Thantos but kept quiet about so as to not rock the boat. Well, maybe except Wolf. I think he might have grumbled some. As for the hero camp, everyone was fine with the pick. If there was any doubt, they kept it to themselves out of respect to Omega. Me being an exception. I felt like dad was holding me back and I deserved to be there. He told me my time would come, which of course he was right, and that his name was a bit of a bigger draw at the time then mine. I admit, at the time I was hurt and frustrated but looking back it was the right call.

Poor Omega can never catch a break in my fed. I'm always wanting him to do better, but the old veteran just can't hang with the youngsters.
