ROH Hall of Fame announced

ROH announced they are establishing the ROH Hall of Fame. It looks like the inaugural class will be 4 members as the first inductee gets announced this Monday January 31st with the other inductees getting announced the following Mondays of February 7th, February 14th, and February 21st. After each weekly announcement, that week's episode of ROH TV will be devoted to that inductee which I think is a smart and purposeful way to use ROH TV during ROH's current pause.


I have 2 questions to you:

1) Who do you think SHOULD be inducted as part of this 4 member inaugural class to the ROH Hall of Fame?

2) Who do you think WILL be inducted as part of this 4 member inaugural class to the ROH Hall of Fame??

That's my answer to both.

AJ was a founding member and went on to be a Legend but didn't stay long enough in ROH.


I don't see anyone currently in WWE getting in, ala AJ, because they CAN'T be at the ceremony.

Why are they doing this? Putting active wrestlers into a hall of fame is silly. At the very best I can throw out names of guys who have moved on and likely never to come back.

I can see them putting in the Briscoes and Jay Lethal. But who knows? Likely to be people they can actually get to appear which is a terrible criteria. Here's to hoping that isn't the case.

My guess is that it will be some combination of CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks with mention of how Adam Page started there too.

I’d like to see the Briscoe Bros and Samoa Joe get in first.

Would AEW allow Danielson and Punk to attend the ceremony, they at least acknowledge the existent of ROH - unlike the E.

Samoa Joe, Jay & Mark Briscoe, and Danielson would be my first four, although I was tempted to go Joe, Danielson, Low-Ki and Christopher Daniels.

Nigel has not been released but I am not sure that would necessarily disqualify him from the inaugural class. WWE did allow Drake Younger when he was an NXT ref to appear for his induction into the CZW Hall of Fame.

I like your picks for the first class but I think they would count the Briscoes as 1 pick.

These are the 4 I would make the inaugural class and why:

Bryan Danielson. Arguably the greatest ROH World Champion of all time as he and both Nigel McGuinness share the record with the most ROH World Championship title defenses at 38 each. By comparison, Adam Cole in his combined 3 reigns as ROH World Champion only had a total of 19 defenses for half as much.

Samoa Joe. The longest-serving ROH World Champion for a length of almost 2 years.

CM Punk. The Summer of Punk was awesome and I think Punk should get inducted in the same year as Samoa Joe due to their classic trilogy of matches against each other in ROH.

Briscoes. The greatest tag team in ROH history with 12 ROH World Tag Team Championships.

Jay and Mark have done enough in singles I could see them being separate entries. Them, Joe and Danielson are probably the dream line up. Adding Lethal if Brisoces are entered as a tag team.

Other curveballs could be someone like Delirious or an Adam Pierce for their work with the school and the booking in addition to ring work.
