Going to listen to this now. Enjoyed the Mayday discussion… Agreeing w Sam and Mike about Cody. Seems way too much like a work. All the points you guys made. Plus all the huge matches in AEW he still hasn’t had…way too much ahead of him to leave. Can’t see Tony not paying him. Swarm, from the sounds of things real money has been discussed and those inside the WWE are talking like it's a done deal for him. Yeah, when we were talking it over on Tuesday, we only had the facts available then at our disposal and it looked as though it could still be a work. Now, it’s extremely unlikely. I think the final nail in the coffin for speculating that it is a work will be seeing what they do with his reality show. If it gets axed, it’s clear. If not… then things are taking an interesting turn. I suppose even then, until he shows up in a WWE ring, it’ll still be a bit up in the air.

This was a fun spotlight. It was good to hear about Pete's adventures in and out of the community. I am glad I am not the only one who got their first bootleg (Akuma) when I bought that Mark Ashby COTG soundtrack cassette. I never did get any other ones unless the create a character contest winners count.
Sam, I am glad someone recognizes El Hazard! It was my favorite when it first came out when I was still young and has remained so since. Sadly, anime conventions were why I never made it to a Galacticon since I always went to an anime con with a friend that always ended up being within a week or two of Galacticon so could never manage to go up to Jamestown in my younger years from 1996 or so when I was old enough to drive myself. I kinda wish I had gone to Galacticon instead since it seems like so many made lifelong friends in those days.

This was a great episode.First of all thank you for your service to our country Pete. This was a great promotor spotlight and loved hearing Pete talk about his experience with the game.As far as Cody is concerned I was shocked he signed with the WWE.I can't see Vince letting him beat Roman at all for the belt.Perhaps, they would let him beat Lashley but that seems unlikely.I would think they had to offer him something BIG like creative control over his character, perhaps an executive role in NXT or a world title run. Also liked the discussion centered around the teasers.

When Bobby Lashley went down I immediately starting thinking… ADRENALINE IN MY SOUL BOBBY REPLACED BY CODY RHODES

Been binging Roll Up in order since I am a late comer. Quickly became my favorite podcast!
Hit this one and was surprised all 4 thought Cody leaving AEW would be good for AEW!
Sam especially just could not believe Cody was leaving and created a conspiracy that it was a work. Even my level-headed idol Mike didn't think Cody would go far in WWE!!! In fairness I thought there was a good chance Cody would walk out as Stardust.
Just a great snapshot of the pivotal moment in wrestling history when Cody jumped ship. Since then WWE has been on the way up, and AEW has hit rocky roads I am sad to say.
