That Funk vs. Gilbert match is awesome. I highly recommend you check it out if you never have.

What episode number is that again?
The Anchor link isn't working but I listened on Google Podcasts app. Thanks for the recognition on the stretcher match. That was a LOOOOONG time ago when I needed a special match for Pit Viper and Ghengis Khan. I kept looking at that original feud table and thinking it was the one piece of the game that I never really utilized, and it had those stretcher instructions already, so it seemed like a natural fit.
Great discussion on Sam's Brawl, too. A lot of these old matches and charts really are like a time capsule for when they were created. Tom's original "teleported to the ring" idea was probably the most ignored and forgotten piece of game lore. I ditched that straight away! Like Tim said, the introduction and walk to the ring is a huge part of the overall presentation and part of the world of pro wrestling. Can't do without it.

Really liked this episode. I didn’t know that some of the more official matches had such a deep history.
Great listen!

MT, I always thought it was so cool how you used one of the basic game charts as a way to create a new specialty match. So awesome! I had some great Stretcher Matches in my history and some stinkers as well, where the first roll on the Feud Table was a stretcher result. Thanks for contributing this idea!

Great episode! It was good to hear about how some of you guys' match creations came about and have gone for you over the years. I had to laugh when you mentioned some of the Myron matches. I remember running the match where a guy could die once and the very first time I did it, Dreadnought died. He was one of my favorites too! I kept him dead in subsequent years and hated every minute of it.

A lot of those charts and things got WAY out of hand with people seemingly trying to one up each other in match complexity. If there was a ringside companion of late 80s-90s fan created matches it would take five volumes just from all of the text and a half dozen charts per match.

Yeah, I'm not compiling that thing for publishing. However, maybe when we get down the road chronologically, we can scan in the two CGSR Special Matches Handbooks and house them in the Google Drive.
