Big E Suffers a Broken Neck on WWE SmackDown After the match, Big E was stretchered to the backstage area. In the video clip below, Big E could be seen giving a “thumbs up” to the fans. According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, Big E was taken via ambulance to a hospital in Birmingham, AL to undergo medical testing. Big E published a video from the hospital and announced that he was told he suffered a broken neck. However, the good news is that Big E is able to move his fingers and he said he will be alright. Big E thanked the fans for their support and said to not worry about him.

It's always scary seeing someone stretchered out for a neck injury. I remember seeing Buff Bagwell's accident on TV thinking he may be paralyzed. He made a full recovery, and hopefully Big E will too. His singles push was one of the few things WWE actually did right last year.

Was watching live and immediately wasn’t sure if I just saw a man be paralyzed. Absolutely awful. I don’t understand why wrestlers take these kinds of risks. Why are two huge powerhouses throwing each other around outside of the ring? This is exactly the kind of thing that’s being talked about my so many vets - young guys doing crazy moves just to do crazy moves. Find another way to get Ridge Holland over without him throwing 300 lbs guys over his head on concrete. I don’t know whose fault it was - Big E not timing his jump or Ridge doing something wrong but it’s totally unnecessary and now a guys career may be over.
