2092 is the year Chuck Carter really kicked into full gear using a Jack Kirby inspired blocky art style with really heavy lines. Chaos has a very Kirby Darkseid feel to him and the whole thing kind of evokes the 1970s DC New Gods. While there is a certain gravitas that can be evoked with that style, in black and white and in this card size I think it missed the mark. It's my contention that The Keepers Of The Stone, and Rogue especially, never got fully explored due to the way they were portrayed in the art. They just look kind of boring and I feel like a lot of character got left on the table. I think Chaos should look like a more modern interpretation of Incredible Hulk in terms of physique. Something like the virtual con card but bulkier. An artist could really go wild on the Keepers and open up those characters a lot. Darkos is another one with real potential. Dragonmaster and Dreadnaught were good in the original. Omega seemed to me to age TOO quickly. He went from an older, but still athletic, wrestler to looking like a paunchy mob boss in robes.

I absolutely loved the Keepers of the Stone when I saw the ad. However, when I got the actual game things changed and not for the best.

I am looking forward to 2092 getting released to add to my COTG color card history some more before 2138 gets released.

Still better than the original, mind you but I think 2099 Ursa Major art was the one that fit the character best.

I think the face is fine. For me it's the waist and legs seem like the edges got cut off. But, then again he is a jobber... I mean enhancement talent.

Sometimes I just wonder - if this art is better than the original. I get nervous, because specifically the art for Dreadnaught that Carter did was fantastic!
