CLASSICS 2525 - A WTIC Work in Progress

TAGLINE: A story of friendship and the thirst for REVENGE!

Concept: In between current-day CotG sets (2137-38) and the Classics 3000 set comes a set to help explain origins of KEY moments in CotG history!

I will be updating this on Mondays if I have something to add here. So far, I'm thinking this will be an EIGHT CARD set, with a possible BONUS card. The bonus card is going to be a SPOILER of sorts, and may not even be included (more about this later).

One "origin" that I want to include in the set is the origin of the TRANSEVOLVER! I have all the early sets but will need to reread them so I have all the details on the machine.

Why do I need the TransEvolver in the first place? I want to explore the origins of TONGSOON / SOLDIER OF FORTUNE! This will be one of the cards in the set! I don't remember if his origins were ever explored / mentioned! I always wondered how he can go into the TransEvolver as a lizard, and come out as a human, and who/what he was BEFORE becoming Tongsoon!

Other cards in the set will be the "friendship" story mentioned above. This will include an appearance by MANDRILL! There will be at least TWO female wrestlers as well. There will be ROOKIE cards for a classic team as well!

Another thing I want to introduce is "OPTIONAL STATS"! More about this as the time comes to release the set.

So here's the list so far on the cards for the set:


1. Wrestler in the story that has the "friend" role
2. Wrestler in the story that has the "revenge" role (manager & wrestler stats)
3. Rookie version of wrestler in tag team
4. Rookie version of tag team partner of #3
5. First female wrestler
6. Second female wrestler
7. rookie Soldier of Fortune (real name perhaps?)
8. Slot open for a new wrestler / re-stated vet?

Thank you for taking an interest in my new set, BIG BRI, HEXXSTAR, and KAZ! Here's the latest:


It’s Monday, so here’s the latest update on my Classics 2525 set:

One of the cards that I wanted for the set was a veteran card. I always wondered whatever happened to QUASAR? I’ve decided he will get a card for this set. It was between him and KATI for the slot, and I went with Quasar here.

What’s his story then? I haven’t worked on that yet, I just did the art research and the initial gathering of CotG History this past week, so no story yet...

So what’s the artwork going to be for Quasar? How about this? --

As for more updates, I’ve made the card background for the cards! Here --

Also, I figured maybe some of my fellow Promoters would have a different vision in mind for the characters that I will have in the set, so I thought I’d introduce them with a note that said something along the line of: “It is rumored that this wrestler later became ‘so-and-so’, but those rumors have yet to be confirmed” since the wrestlers will NOT be wrestling under the names they have in the Official sets. This way, anyone can use them as they see fit, either as intended, or as a different character entirely, Promoter’s choice on those. I guess it’s my way of saying, “It’s up to YOU, Promoter!”

And lastly:  On my next update, I will be showing the artwork for the female team, with possible alternatives. I should have a better idea on the storyline for the set as well.

Hey everyone!

Here's some artwork for the female tag team, as promised!

Since I really liked my playing cards for PHAZE and REEVENGE, I am adding them to Classics 2525! I found some 3-D artwork that isn't too bad (free to use, even commercially), and I did the wrestlers up in WWE 2k22 to see how close to the original vision that I could get. Here are the results:

Hey everyone! MAJOR update today, so enjoy! Here's the latest on my Classics set! Lots of stuff to update:


Let's start off with a tag team that I wanted to update was none other than DREGGS & MACE! So the idea here is to do up better cards for them now that playing stats have beefed up a bit in general since Dreggs & Mace's original debut.

Also, I gave them first and last names, with the idea of that's how they came up with their wrestling names as it was based on their real names.

So for Dreggs, he's DERRICK MIGGS, and for Mace, he's MARLON JACE!

This is the artwork for each, with the art I found on the web next to the rendering I came up with from WWE 2k22!

NOTE FOR DREGGS: I could not find the correct attire for Dreggs in WWE 2k22, so I came up with something that I thought might work. Also, I do like the boxer option for Dreggs, as it showed his athletic background for the character before he started wrestling:

NOTE FOR MACE: I like the idea of warpaint on his face here, because I'm thinking he'd probably want the Gladiators to be intimidated by it:

And finally, as readers of my Kronos fed have seen, I have Mentress revealing herself as WITCH at my last PPV! The good news was that the BONUS card that I was going to include in this set was a wrestling card for Mentress based on Witch's wrestling stats! The bad news is that there isn't much I could do that's too much different on Witch's card to warrant another card for her. It would be just a name switch basically, so I've decided not to include the bonus card, sorry. I did have artwork that I liked for her, and the art kind of looks like her Witch card anyway:

And I completed the WWE 2k22 version of QUASAR as well, which I might change later:

Anyway, I will be kicking off my Kronos again next week! This will give me a chance to play-test all the new stuff here!

Okay, it's Monday! Time to update this thing:


So the final two names are... (drumroll please)...

SECTARIAN


and FURY!

NOTES: I could not do up a WWE 2k22 version of Sectarian (no gorillas in the game, haha), and I would have to grayscale the 3D art for Fury since his skin is gray (and add the scarring around  his mouth). The WWE 2k22 version of Fury is on the right of that artwork, obviously, and I like it a lot!  Also, for the storyline, since this will be a tale of "friendship and the thirst for revenge", Sectarian is the "friend" and Fury is the one seeking revenge, obviously!


And yeah, there was talk about Sectarian here on the Board this weekend, so how cool is it that I was planning something for him already? VERY cool is the answer!

Also, here's the WWE 2k22 version of Soldier of Fortune! He will be called SOLDIER OF CYGNUS in the set:

So yeah! I'm sending out the playing stats to Staff this week in a day or two! ROB has said he's busy this week, so I will give Staff TWO weeks to give the stats a look-see instead of one week.  The stats should be fine since I've mixed up stuff on the cards quite a bit...

As for FINISHED playing stats, I don't think I will change anything on Phaze or Reevenge, so those are good to go for now! If you haven't seen these yet, here:

So I will work on the storyline and should have an update next week! Maybe I will post Sectarian's stats since those are good to go as well, I'm pretty sure!

I've got a bit of the storyline laid out:

Kronos time is in flux, thus the year 2525. Sectarian and Fury meet somewhere on the indy circuit and Fury still wants revenge on the Gladiators, so they form a team. Somewhere along the line, STALKER discovers where they went to after leaving the GWF, so he calls them up to Kronos to train them both a bit more.

NOTE: I never used Stalker in my fed, so to give him a behind-the-scenes spot makes more sense since he was NOT in my fed before. So instead of wrestling, he went right to behind-the-scenes to work in the office on Kronos. And now I have a wrestler (Stalker) to update if I want to do a sequel to Classic 2525!

As for WHY the year 2525? I want add something from the year (technology or something) to the fed. I haven't figured out what yet exactly. I could do a grudge match chart or something once I give it more thought...

I have the playing stats all typed up for the cards. I am holding off on getting approval from Staff since they are all busy with new releases, so I will wait on that a bit. And I will wait till the price for the 2092 Online set is revealed before I bug TournamentMaster with my dumb ordering questions, LOL!


So yeah, that's about it for now! I won't be posting my Kronos fed today (kinda busy offline), but my fed postins will return soon!

BRIEF UPDATE:

I've decided to wait until AFTER GCon to bug Staff with the playing stats. I'm sure they will all be busy with making everything perfect for GCon, so yeah. This gives me more time to write up and perfect this stuff, and play-test it a bit more.

I haven't felt much like posting my Kronos lately (I do have it played out though), but I do plan on getting back to it before too long. I do have the next fed that I will be rolling for (back to my Hall of Fame Legends fed once I get the Mulkeys), and I do have the rosters set for that and will post them soon!

I think I will go with the "item on a pole" type of grudge match for the set, with a different type of weapon on each pole (six-sided ring so six weapons). I'm thinking Laser Stun Rod, steel chain, etc for the weapons.

That's pretty much it for now...
