Are these books worth picking up? Looking at the Record Book from Detroit - 1964 to 1980 in particular. I may get it but not sure.

If you're a stats junkie, for sure worth picking up.

Yes, what Troy said. I bought the Detroit Big Time Wrestling one from him and I like it a lot. But they may not be for everyone. It's just pages of every available arena result from a given time period and some cool photos thrown in the mix. What I liked about the Big Time one was I could see the way the different cities were booked differently just by reading the weekly results. It's fun to see the ebb and flow and guys coming and going over the months and years and who were the mainstays.

Which towns were regular cities and which towns were spots shows that only ran a few times a year? I have probably a couple dozen of his books and haven't seen a bad one yet.

That, and in the bigger territories, you can tell different promoters were booking different cities just by the style. Dayton, for instance, had a clear pattern that kept repeating: two big stars meet in tag matches, pair off in singles for a few weeks with no clear winner, then have the blowoff main event in some kind of stips match. Other cities seem to be booked by random match generator, then there are the aforementioned spot shows outside of the normal towns where anything goes. You can really see who could book and who was just throwing matches together.
