I love these trips down memory lane, much simpler times. I should be joining CLUB GALACTICA soon. I was quick to buy the game in 1986, but wasn't so quick in joining the club fun. I missed out on all the fun. Took me couple more years to buy my first GWF set and Club Galactica ended a few months later just as I learned of it. I did jump on Promoter #1 quickly there after once that was announced. I'm looking forward to seeing your contributions Kevin and seeing who else joins up! |

Unfortunately, I think the end of '89 marks the beginning of my decline in playing the game with the same enthusiasm that I had in past years... I remember sticking around long enough to join the CG dream federation, but that's about the extent of my involvement... It will be cool to see what I missed going forward... Once again, thank you for sharing these memories.

Have I mentioned how much I enjoy listening to these Club Galactica Throwback episodes??? So much fun and history in them...
I LOL'd when Mark made his "jingo-istic" comment...I mean come on, why wouldn't the rest of the Universe cheer for the gold ol' Red, White, & Blue of the US of A!!!! I mean we did kick some Cygnus a$$ in the Galactic Wars!!!!
And December 1989 holds a special place in my heart as that's when I left for Air Force Basic Training...which means I finally drop my order to join Club Galactica just a few months later in April 1990 (Yeah, I shouldn't have, but I did & held off on the subscription until I got to my first duty station over in Germany.)
