AEW star Jeff Hardy was reportedly pulled over by the Florida Highway Patrol late last night after he was seen “swerving” and “running off” the road.
As originally reported here on WrestlingHeadlines.com this afternoon, Hardy was arrested in Volusia County, Florida and charged with second degree misdemeanor Driving While License Canceled/Suspended/Revoked, second degree misdemeanor Violation of Restrictions Placed on Drivers License, and third degree felony DUI Alcohol/Drugs Third Offense within 10 Years. Hardy received a surety cash bond of $3,500 – $500 for the license charges, and $2500 for the DUI.
In an update, ESPN’s Marc Raimondi reports that a Florida Highway Patrol report says Hardy was stopped after a white car was seen “swerving” and “running off” the roadway on Monday at around 12:30am ET. When the officer made the stop and engaged Hardy, he seemed “to be in a stupor and confused,” according to the arrest report.
It was also written that once Hardy left his car, he was unsteady and smelled of alcohol. Officers spoke with Hardy and learned that he had been drinking. Hardy could not successfully complete any portion of the sobriety exercises “or without risk of falling,” the officer wrote.
Officers administered a Breathalyzer test to Hardy and his first sample was a BAC of 0.294. The second sample was a 0.291. The legal limit to drive in the state of Florida is .08.
Hardy is still incarcerated at the S. James Foxman Justice Center in Daytona Beach, Florida, as of this writing. He is scheduled to appear in front of a judge for his first hearing tomorrow, June 14 at 1:30pm.

Honestly, I think it's past time that he learns a lesson the hard way...I understand it is not easy to "recover", but when you put other people's lives in danger again & again...time for a judge to crack down.

Recovery is difficult. But people need to take responsibility for their actions. I like Jeff Hardy but enough is enough.

He’s been given more than enough chances. Fire him before someone gets hurt.

Tammy killed someone, is Jeff next? Sad. Yeah I mean Tammy was given chance after chance and it sadly cost a life. Unfortunately I think Jeff needs that punishment and get help before the same thing happens. Feels like it's only a matter of time with him

Sad How many chances does he what ? I mean not sure if TNA Victory Road 2011 was his first . Okay not arrested but drunk ? But what has he learnt since then ? Like Troy said how long until he kills someone ? There is some poor wrestler out there , done anything but never given a chance by WWE / Impact / AEW etc But if he does get fired . Will Filsingergames promoters get hopefully ?

He is just one of thousands. Some might say he keeps getting another chance because he is famous but plenty of regular Joes go down this same path. When it comes to alcoholics and drunk driving we have come a long way in last 4-5 decades but still a long way to go till we make things safe. No defense for what he did but on the bright side at least he was not driving the wrong way on the highway as has happened way too many times down here.

AEW has suspended Jeff Hardy due to his DUI arrest from Monday morning in Volusia County, Florida.
AEW President, CEO, General Manager & Head Of Creative Tony Khan took to Twitter this afternoon and announced Hardy’s suspension. Khan noted that the company just resumed contact with Hardy today, and that they do not condone his behavior.
AEW has promised to help Hardy in getting treatment for substance abuse issues, and Hardy has indicated that he is open to receiving help. Hardy is currently suspended without pay, and AEW will only bring him back once he’s successfully completed treatment, and maintained his sobriety.
“We were able to resume contact with Jeff Hardy this afternoon. AEW does not condone Jeff’s alleged behavior. We’ve made it clear to Jeff that we’ll assist him in getting treatment for substance abuse issues, which he has indicated that he’s open to receiving. In the interim, he is suspended without pay, and he can only return to AEW upon successfully completing treatment and maintaining his sobriety. If you or a loved one needs help, please reach out to SAMHSA’s National Helpline: 1-800-662-HELP (4357),” Khan wrote.
There is no word yet on when Hardy might begin treatment.
As originally reported here on WrestlingHeadlines.com yesterday afternoon, Hardy was arrested for his third DUI since 2018 on Monday morning near Daytona Beach, FL. He was charged with second degree misdemeanor Driving While License Canceled/Suspended/Revoked, second degree misdemeanor Violation of Restrictions Placed on Drivers License, and third degree felony DUI Alcohol/Drugs Third Offense within 10 Years. He was released from the S. James Foxman Justice Center in Daytona Beach, after paying the $3,500 surety bond via bail bondsman, at around 7pm ET on Monday night, less than 12 hours after the arrest. His first hearing was scheduled for today at 1:30pm ET, but the hearing status was changed to cancelled on Monday evening after he bonded out of jail. You can find full details on what led to the arrest, Hardy’s mugshot and more in the links to our previous reports below.
You can also watch police footage from the arrest, which shows footage of Florida Highway Patrol troopers approaching Hardy with guns drawn due to his failure to comply at first. Full details and footage can be seen at the various links below.
The Hardys were scheduled to work a Triple Threat Ladder Match on this week’s Road Rager edition of AEW Dynamite, with The Young Bucks and AEW World Tag Team Champions Jurassic Express, but AEW has not announced the new match as of this writing. It was reported today at this link that AEW asked WarnerMedia to stop all promotion of Jeff.
The Hardys’ status for Saturday’s AAA Triplemania event in Tijuana is still up in the air, but this AEW suspension likely means Jeff will not be wrestling in Mexico this weekend. While The Hardys are still advertised to face Dragon Lee and Dralistico, word is that AAA & ROH World Tag Team Champions FTR will likely end up replacing The Hardys if they are pulled over Jeff’s arrest. The AAA titles would be on the line in that match, if changed.
