I've mostly had the same trouble with rolling with Angle. For some odd reasons, he never catches a break and the dices all hate him.

It's insane the rolls that come up for him. Ox Baker is his last shot, otherwise he's gonna leave the territory for a while. I had him battle Jake Milliman, and Milliman got 3 pins against him, before finally Angle turned it over and got the pin.

There are always wrestlers who seem jinxed like that.

SUNSHINE STATE WRESTLING
Match Card 4, Jim Beech Recreation Center, Orlando, FL
Les Thatcher d. Ricky Morton via DQ, DUD, 2:52 Match Comments: Short match, the DQ was actually due to a misunderstanding by the ref. Morton was working outside the ring and as Thatcher was moving away from Morton, he tripped on a mat and slammed his head and the resulting crash was heard by the official who assumed that Morton used an illegal object on Thatcher
Shane Douglas d. Koko B Ware via Pittsburgh Plunge, 4.0 stars, 20:04 Match Comments: Koko had the chance to pull an upset. He controlled a lot of the match, but a double clothesline late in the match swung the momentum to Shane Douglas who put Koko down with 3 finishing moves before the pinfall. Koko did have a pre-match interview with Gordon Solie that allowed him to start on L2O as well.
Tracy Smothers d. King Kong Bundy via DQ (Illegal move outside of ring), 5.0 stars, 24:48 Match Comments: Some might say Smothers "only" won by DQ, but believe it or not, he was dominating much of this match. Bundy was desperate and was likely on his way to losing this match.
Kurt Angle d. Ox Baker via Ankle Lock, 2.0 stars, 6:04 Match Comments: Angle had to start on L3D to begin the match because we had a draw for initiative twice in a row. Angle lost the third roll. However, he quickly recovered from an immediate heart punch from Ox Baker to win - and win CONVINCINGLY! Post match comments from Angle to Solie were that he wanted a match with Bundy next match card in an attempt to redeem his debut loss.
PROMOTER NOTES:
When Angle had to start on L3D, I thought "here we go again" especially after Baker rolled a Heart Punch right off the bat! Angle finally had the dice go his way and won impressively. I know he wants Bundy next, but the Graham's have a twist up their sleeve for the next match card.
Ricky Morton and Les Thatcher match was not only a DUD, but the DQ really killed the attempt to kick the show off with a competitive match. Both good wrestlers and both are faces in this territory, so I don't expect any bad blood between these two moving forward.
Koko B Ware really had a shot to shoot up the contenders list, but he couldn't finish and he needed this win much more than Shane Douglas did.
Tracy Smothers had a hell of a performance against King Kong Bundy and we might have a dark-horse in contention for the SSW Grand Championship with continued performance like that!

SUNSHINE STATE WRESTLING, CARD 5, FROM THE FORT HOMER HESTERLY ARMORY IN TAMPA, FLORIDA
Rock 'n Roll Express d. Mulkey Brothers via Double Dropkick (Randy Mulkey never even entered the ring), SQUASH, 2:02 Match Comments: Mulkey's did exactly what they were supposed to, put over RnR Express and make them look STRONG
Shane Douglas d. Tracy Smothers via Pinfall (Douglas began match on L3O after he attacked Smothers during a pre-match interview with Gordon Solie), 1-star, 3:40 Match Comments: Smothers was able to get some offensive action in, but Douglas' surprise attack really handicapped Smothers' chance to get into the match
Kurt Angle d. King Kong Bundy via Ankle Lock (Angle was a "man possessed" as Gordon Solie put it.), 2-star, 5:12 Match Comments: Angle reversed an early turnbuckle chart into a reversal and Bundy never had a chance after that
Magnum TA d. Tommy Rich via Belly-to-Belly Suplex, 5-star, 8:10 Match Comments: Great back-and-forth action, short match, but it had a ton of fireworks during it's duration. Could be considered a match with a lot of high-spots and energy.
Promoter Notes:
- The Grahams are inching closer to putting together a Sunshine State Wrestling Grand Champion match. Shane Douglas is looking like a solid-bet to be involved in that match
- The Angle/Bundy feud is over. It ended with a bit of a whimper when Bundy just didn't look strong against a fully alert Kurt Angle.
- Magnum TA might stick around Florida, but we'll have to see.

Sunshine State Wrestling, Card 6 (SPOT SHOW), From the Best Western Dining & Banquet Hall in Railford, Florida
Dirty White Boy d. Keith Steinborn via Pinfall, 8:02, 1-star match Comments: NOT 1 offensive roll for Steinborn this match. DWB just abused him for 8 minutes
Shane Douglas d. Prince Kharis w/James Mitchell via Pinfall, 14:52, 2.5 star match Comments: Shane had control of the match till the Mitchell successfully cast a spell over the match allowing Kharis to take control. Douglas was able to regain control off a reversal into the ropes that eventually led to victory
Rock 'n Roll Express d. Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell via Cross Body Block, 18:52, 1.25 star match Comments: Blair/Brunzell were more of a workout for the RnR Express than I think most would have thought. High intensity, high action, but with all the quick tags in this match, not many fatigue tokens were earned - causing this to have a lower match rating than maybe it would call for.
Promoter Notes:
- Every now and then we will run a spot show in a really small town like Railford (pop. 255). For those of you non-native Floridians, Railford really only exists to act as the HQ for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement execution chamber/location. So small 3-match shows will be run in small towns like this periodically.
- Prince Kharis almost threw a wrench in Shane Douglas' plans for the SSW title
- Hopefully the Rock 'n Roll Express don't leave the territory, but rumor is they may be getting a shot at the NWA World Tag Team Titles. Even the SSW Tag Titles probably wouldn't be enough to keep them from leaving for that shot.

SUNSHINE STATE WRESTLING, CARD #7, THE GASPARILLA CLASSIC FROM THE TAMPA CONVENTION CENTER, DOWNTOWN TAMPA, FL
Kurt Angle d. Ken Shamrock via Olympic Slam, 7:30, 2-stars Match comments: Dominant match by Angle, he made surprisingly quick work of Shamrock. Angle continues his "redemption" run after a terrible start
Dan Spivey d. Mark Henry via Powerbomb, 13:50, 4-stars Match comments: Very competitive match, lots of reversals. The boys worked stiff and put on a good "big man" match for nearly fifteen minutes.
Fatal 4-Way Match for the Sunshine State Wrestling Championship... Sgt. Slaughter d. Shane Douglas, Dirty White Boy and Tracy Smothers via elimination/pinfall, 22:18, 4-stars Match comments: Slaughter put on quite the performance. He was able to eliminate ALL men in this match disposing of Shane Douglas and Dirty White Boy within ten minutes of the bell before having a lengthy back-and-forth with Tracy Smothers.
Magnum TA d. Antonio Inoki via Belly-to-Belly Suplex, 29:08, 5-stars Match comments: This was the match of the night! Both these guys were able to continue to stonewall the other for a lengthy period of time. Lots of reversals and "hurt" results. Dice were not kind to either when they were on L3O. However, Magnum finally secured the win, but Inoki was hardly a "loser" after this match
Tag Team match for the Sunshine State Wrestling Tag-Team Championship... Rock 'n Roll Express d. Midnight Express w/Jim Cornette via Double Dropkick to Dennis Condrey, 13:38, 4-stars Match comments: Midnights looked to have it in the bag early with Morton in big trouble, but a hot-tag turned the tide. Midnights had 2 failed pin saves/interference rolls.
The Gasparilla Classic - Jose Gaspar "Key to the City" match. Winner has the right to request a SSW Title Match whenever they wish within 25 match cards of winning the "Key to the City" Andre the Giant d. Blackjack Mulligan via Big Splash, 14:24, 5-stars Match Comments: Another "strong-style" match. Both guys gave it everything they had to put on a hell of a show to the delight of the crowd in Tampa. Andre now has the right to a match with the SSW Champion at a moment's notice.
Promoter Notes: - Slaughter eliminating/pinning all opponents in the Fatal 4-Way match was impressive. First crack at his title will be against the winner of a #1 Contender match between Kurt Angle and Magnum TA
- I really was hoping for a better debut for Shamrock, but he just fell flat in his match against Angle. For starting so poorly, the Angle card is now slapping opponents around
- I know I gave Inoki a difficult first test, but man...he and the Magnum card just couldn't seem to get an edge on one another. Neither wrestler really dominated. Magnum TA just got the roll of the dice on an out of the ring chart roll which directly led to his victory. Prior to that, no one was rolling finishers or any PINs. It started to feel like a match that might go 60 minutes real time because no one was taking any sort of control. Inoki is definitely gonna be back in the rotation.
- I don't know if Andre will use his "Key to the City" or not...at least not yet...I think I am more worried about him just dominating and holding on to the belt for too long, he might just be a Special Attraction only card moving forward. Time will tell what he does with the "Key to the City".
