Hello, all! This is BDS, the original developer of COTGonline. I've been talking with Mike M. for a few months about making some changes to the system, but life has conspired to keep me from getting around to it until, well, right now.
We've rolled out our first couple of changes to the system today. It's nothing major yet, just a couple of quality of life changes to the card management system and to my baby, the PBP sim. Notably:
- Cards can be edited to occur as early as 1930! Hooray, history!
- When adding a wrestler to a card, you can see which set they're from.
- When launching the PBP Sim, it spawns in a new window. This is a tremendous change, and it dishonors my family that I didn't think of it many, many, many moons ago.
I've got quite a lot more on deck that will have immediate impact, specifically a fix to a bug with some missing cards as the very next thing, and you should see those start to roll out in the next week or two. Every time we push out an update, I'll make sure you get some developers notes like this so you know what's going on. As I won't be active on the boards, Mike will continue to coordinate things here, so if you've got bugs or ideas or whatever, pass them along to him.
Finally, I'll at some point be creating a special, up-jumped Bryan Danielson card with stats befitting the best wrestler in the world and gifting it to people at random as the first of my BDS Specials. Unless Mike eliminates this paragraph and scolds me for ever writing it, that is, which is a distinct possibility. I'm hitting my censor button on this one. BDS can commiserate with Chad Olson .
It's a pleasure to be back with one of my all-time favorite projects. Keep rolling those dice, whether they be little plastic cubes or a Mersene twister, and I look forward to updating you again soon!
