Game Type: Voice/Text (we play the actual game on roll20, so you need an account to play)
Time/Date: Whatever is decided
Slots Open: As many as can play/run games (I’m hoping for 3-5 per game)
Game Concept:
Now that my regular game’s season is over I'm thinking of trying my hand at something a little different. Before I make any decisions though, I wanted to reach out and describe to everyone what type of game they might be interested in playing in, as I’m willing to run any of the following in my GWA game world.
What is the GWA?
The GWA (Global Wrestling Alliance) is a vision that I have for an open world pro-wrestling RPG using the WWW (World Wide Wrestling) game system (https://ndpdesign.com/wwwrpg). Here players role play their characters behind the scenes, in "real life" and in the ring. The purpose of this game is to emulate (through role play) a NWA-like system in modern day created wrestling world of our own.
For those who don't know/understand the NWA structure; basically in this game there will be a collective group of independent professional wrestling promotions run by various GMs and one governing body, the GWA. This collective group will operate a territory wrestling system, participate in talent exchanges, and collectively protected the territorial integrity of member promotions. Each promotion sanctions their own championships, however recognize only one world champion.
That said, which territory game is next? Well, read the following brief game descriptions and message me which game (if any) sound interesting:
1) LLL (Lucha Libre Liga): The LLL is a stable/group heavy promotion that is run out of Mexico, where most of the matches promoted are a best 2 out of 3 elimination trios match.
2) WOW! Wrestling (World Organized Woman's Wrestling): This company is striving to be the premier woman’s organization in the world. WOW! Wrestling hosts matches featuring a wide variety of talent and styles and does so in a true sports-like atmosphere.
3) Calgary Alberta Wrestling (CAW): CAW is a huge Canadian professional wrestling promotion based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Over the last several decades it has expanded to the point that it is the main promotion in western Canada and the Canadian Prairies. Many of the promotion's former alumni have become some of the most popular stars in the All American Wrestling promotion as well as other popular American based promotions during the 1990s and 2000s.
4) Southern Atlantic Wrestling (SAW): Originally a small niche organization, today SAW is a semi-prominent wrestling territory consisting of both North and South Carolina along with some small slivers of Virginia and Georgia. Homegrown talent is a main fixture in SAW who boasts that they are the best wrestlers in not only the Atlantic region but possibly the world.
5) East Wisconsin Wrestling (EWW): EWW is a US mid-central organization ran by D.Ohnughts Dunkerton, a promoter/booker with a propensity toward pun names. D.Ohnughts Dunkerton’s philosophy in wrestling is simple. Everything in his shows focuses on entertainment and not so much the athleticism.
6) Unified Japan Pro-Wrestling (UJPW): UJPW is a major world-wide wrestling promotion based in Tokyo, Japan. Though it is seen as and billed as a single entity it’s unique in the sense that it is “Divided” into eight base promotions each with some semblance of autonomy, located at the heart of all of Japan’s eight regions.
7) Shogun Elite Wrestling (SEW): Half choreographed show and half wrestling event, SEW shows are ran out of Japan and always hosts an exciting, family-friendly experience inspired by a high-fantasy feudal Japan made modern. The wrestlers compete in matches held before an “Emperor” in order to become named the "Shogun" and awarded a great ceremonial ō-yoroi and daisho (instead of the classic wrestling belt strap) to wear.
