I'm going to try my hand at yet another regional fed attempt with Georgia Championship Wrestling this time. I'm going to run a few cards before running title tournaments as I'm still undecided if I'm going to go with the National titles or the Georgia titles. The first card is a big Independence Day card.


GCW #1
The Omni; Atl

....Ivan Koloff interrupts the National Anthem to start the card and gets boo'd out of the building. Sam Houston comes out to stop his tirade before we get the anthem once again to kick things off....

---Ivan Koloff over Sam Houston w/ the RUSSIAN SICKLE. Sam put up a great fight but the wily heel used some chicanery and his finisher to get the win.



---The Vachons/The Sicilian take the win over The Conways/'Boogie Woogie Man' Jimmy Valiant after Butcher puts Conway Sr down w/ a Big Splash into the turnbuckle.



---Tully Blanchard w/ JJ Dillon over Mike Graham, winning w/ the SLINGSHOT SUPLEX in a dominant victory.



---Austin Idol over Bob Roop w/ the LAS VEGAS LEGLOCK in a good matchup.



---The Moondogs take a tainted win over the Rock-n-Roll Express after Jim Cornette & the Midnight Express cause a distraction at ringside. This gave Rex the opportunity to smash Robert Gibson w/ their bone for the finish.



---Thunderbolt Patterson over Angelo Mosca by DQ in what turned about to be a bloody match. Mosca gets DQ'd for shoving the referee after refusing to stop teeing off on Thunderbolt in the corner.



---In a 'Battle of the Figure Four Leglocks', Ted DiBiase scores the win over Greg Valentine w/....yep....the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK.



---The Road Warriors w/ Paul Ellering over Jimmy Snuka/Terry Gordy after they crush Snuka w/ the DOOMSDAY DEVICE. The Warriors played the heels in this match as they tore Snuka up w/ their spiked armbands as Ellering distracted the referee. Gordy was taken out of the match after Animal press slammed him into the third row at ringside.



---In the Main Event, Johnny Valentine (******) got the win over Jack Brisco (*****) after he dropped Brisco w/ the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER. Great back and forth match that went back & forth until Jack missed a turnbuckle charge late in the match and tumbled over the ring post to the floor. Afterwards, Jerry Brisco came out to check on Jack as Greg came out to celebrate Johnny's win. Words were exchanged and a challenge was thrown out for the next card.



***Card #2 will be headlined by two historic wrestling families as the Briscos battle the Valentines in a huge grudge match....Also, with Jimmy Snuka sidelined, Terry Gordy has called out either Road Warrior for a singles bout but Paul Ellering quickly squashed that; however, Ellering has put his newest member of the Legion of Doom against Gordy.

These two matches and more coming from the Macon Coliseum in Macon, Ga.

Excellent way to kick off a promising promotion... Like there prospects of Ellering putting together a heel stable and can't wait to see who the new addition will be... Also looking forward to the Briscos vs. Valentines - Nothing brings in the business like a good family feud... Keep em rolling!

GCW #2
Macon Coliseum; Macon, GA


....Terry Gordy opens the show in the ring as 'Precious' Paul Ellering comes to ringside.....Ellering tells Gordy there is no match, causing Gordy to hop from the ring and charge Ellering....Gordy actually gets his hands on Ellering until the Spoiler jumps Gordy from behind, choking him out with a TV cord from one of the cameras at ringside....Gordy is in a bad way as Spoiler tosses him back in the ring....Ellering introduces Spoiler as the a member of the Legion of Doom, telling Gordy that Spoiler is his opponent....

Spoiler dominates Gordy (starting w/ 2 tokens) throughout the match until a bloody Gordy makes a huge comeback. Gordy catches Spoiler trying his trademark Rope-Smash Walk and drops him with a ring-shaking POWERBOMB. Ellering has seen enough and the Road Warriors rush the ring, giving Gordy the dreaded DOOMSDAY DEVICE. Gordy gets the win by DQ but is left semi-conscious win the ring.

Ellering grabs the house mike as the boos rain down from the crowd and tells Gordy that the Spoiler will see him next week in the Main Event.



---Tully Blanchard w/ JJ Dillon makes short work of Mike Jackson, winning w/ the SLING SHOT SUPLEX in under 5-minutes.



---Ivan Koloff/Boris Zhukov over The Conways after Ivan hits Conway Sr w/ the RUSSIAN SICKLE. Sam Houston/Scott Casey hit the ring to prevent any after match shenanigans by the heels.



---'Boogie Woogie Man' Jimmy Valiant catches Mad Dog Vachon with a Round House Punch as Vachon charged his foe at the bell. About 3-minutes later, Valiant catches Mad Dog w/ the BOOGIE WOOGIE ELBOW for the finish.



---In a Grudge match, Thunderbolt Patterson takes the win over Angelo Mosca after he misses a Running Clothesline and smacks into the ring post at ringside. Patterson rolls Mosca back in the ring and pins him for the finish. Out of nowhere, Masked Superstar jumps Thunderbolt from behind and drops him w/ the SWINGING NECKBREAKER before the face locker room empties to prevent any further damage.



---Main Event: The Valentines over the Briscos as Johnny/Greg take the opening round of this 'wrestling family' feud. Excellent match that saw Johnny hit Jerry w/ the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER for the finish.



***GCW rolls into Columbus for card #003 with the Main Event featuring a hurt Terry Gordy taking on LoD's Spoiler. Paul Ellering has promised another surprise for Gordy that will be big!! Ellering will be without the Road Warriors for the next few weeks as they are currently touring Japan.

After tonight's sneak attack by Masked Superstar, Thunderbolt Patterson has challenged Superstar/Mosca for card #003 as Tony Atlas has stepped up to be T-Bolt's partner. Mosca doesn't care as he says the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

---Dark Match: Georgia TV Championship Decision Match: Baron Von Raschke over Yoko Ware w/ the BRAIN CLAW to win the vacant title. This match will be televised on the CWG TV show this upcoming week.



---Sam Houston gets a win over Boris Zhukov after landing a Cross Body Block from the top rope. Ivan Koloff tried to jump Houston after the match but was met with a Scott Casey haymaker that cleared Koloff from the ring.



---Sgt Slaughter/Pvt Don Kernodle debut in the area with a decisive win over the Irwins. Sarge outs Bill out w/ the COBRA CLUTCH for the finish.



---Larry Zbyszko over Scott Casey, winning w/ the PILEDRIVER after interference from Ivan Koloff & Boris Zhukov changed the tide of the match.



---Austin Idol & Ted Dibiase battled to a DDQ after battling around ringside. Both competitors were announced as entrants to the Georgia heayweight title tournament.



---In a great match, Thunderbolt Patterson/Tony Atlas over Angelo Mosca/Masked Superstar after Atlas rolled Superstar up after a missed turnbuckle charge.



---In the Main Event, Terry Gordy got a measure of revenge against LoD's Spoiler. Paul Ellering tried to intervene but could not stop the Spoiler from getting lifted up for the POWER BOMB. As Gordy was getting his hand raised, he was jumped from behind by King Kong Bundy as Ellering introduced Bundy as the newest member of the LoD. Bundy & Spoiler did a number on Gordy before the the crowd erupted as 'Superbly' Jimmy Snuka ran down the aisle, steel chair in hand to clear the ring.



***Card #4 will feature the Rock-n-Roll Express vs the Midnight Express w/ Jim Cornette in the main event....Plus, Ivan Koloff battles Tracy Smothers & Ted Dibiase/Tommy Rich team up to battle the Irwins....Plus, more from the Civic Auditorium in Savannah.

Civic Auditorium; Savannah, GA


---Georgia TV Championship: Baron Von Raschke (c) secures his V1 defense over Mike Jackson w/ the BRAIN CLAW. Jackson put up a fight but eventually submitted to Baron's finisher at the 7-minute mark. This match will be shown on the CWG weekly show later this week.


---Ivan Koloff over Tracy Smothers w/ a Falling Face Slam after Smothers got distracted by Boris Zhukov towards the end of the match. As Smothers was jawing w/ Zhukov, Ivan low-blowed the popular baby face to set up the finish.


---Ted Dibiase/Tommy Rich over The Irwins after Rich puts Scott away w/ the THESZ PRESS. Dominating win by the popular duo.


---Tully Blanchard w/ JJ Dillon over 'Boogie Woogie Man' Jimmy Valiant w/ the SLINGSHOT SUPLEX as Dillon held Valiant's feet during the pinfall.


---Austin Idol def. Wahoo McDaniel w/ the LAS VEGAS LEGLOCK in a good bout. Wahoo missed a knee drop late in the match to set up the finish.


---In the Main Event, the Rock-n-Roll Express get a DQ win over the Midnight Express after Jim Cornette is caught smashing Ricky Morton with his tennis racket in the heated finish. Police had to escort the MX & Cornette to the back as the crowd pelted them with garbage to close the show.


***We are back to the Omni in Atlanta for the 1st Round of the Georgia HW Championship tournament that will feature four tournament matches plus two additional matches.

---15-Minute Time Limit: Georgia TV Championship: Baron Von Raschke (c) battled Bob Orton Sr to a 15-minute TLD to retain the title.


---The Fabulous Kangaroos w/ Wild Red Berry dominated the Mulkeys; winning w/ the BOOMERANG on Bill Mulkey.


Gerogia HW Championship Tournament: 1st Round

---Jimmy Snuka advances over The Spoiler w/ a Piledriver after Spoiler & 'Precious' Paul Ellering collided to set up the finish.


---Jack Brisco advanced over Angelo Mosca after Mosca submitted to the FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK. Brisco will face Jimmy Snuka in the next round.


---Tully Blanchard w/ JJ Dillon advances over Bob Roop by DQ after Dillon stuffed a foreign object in Roop's boot as Roop pinned Tully. Roop had landed the BACKBREAKER for the finish but was too close to the ropes, allowing Dillon to take advantage of the situation. Roop was getting his hand raised as Dillon told the referee to check Roop's boot and when the ref found a pair of brass knux, he DQ'd Roop. Roop was furious and chased the heels from the ring.


---In the Main Event, Ted Dibiase battled Austin Idol in a bloody brawl. Idol misses a turnbuckle charge and catches his knee over the top turnbuckle. Dibiase quickly takes advantage and locks on the FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK to secure the win. Dibiase advances to face Tully Blanchard in the next round.


***We head to the Cobb County Civic Center in Marietta for GCW #6 for the final four matches of the 1st Round in the heavyweight title tournament plus, two additional matches.

----Georgia TV Championship: Mike Rotunda takes the title from Baron Von Raschke (c) at the 11-minute mark w/ the BUTTERFLY SUPLEX. New champion!!


---The Road Warriors return to Georgia and crush Jimmy Valiant/Koko Ware after they hit a brutal DOOMSDAY DEVICE on Yoko for the finish.


Georgia HW Championship Tournament: 1st Round -cont.

---Johnny Valentine takes down Thunderbolt Patterson w/ the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER to advance to the next round.


---Masked Superstar gets a tainted win over Tony Atlas after it appears Superstar loads his mask and headbutts Atlas as they brawled at ringside. Back in the ring, Superstar drops Atlas w/ the SWINGING NECKBREAKER for the finish. Superstar will face Johnny Valentine in the quarterfinals.


---Harley Race advances over Wahoo McDaniel after Harley stuffs Wahoo w/ the PILEDRIVER.


---In the Main Event, Tommy Rich puts Larry Zybszko to sleep w/ the WILDFIRE SLEEPER and will face Harley Race in the quarterfinals.
