This was one of the best Galacticons I’ve ever been to. Not sure how many people know the real story behind Greg Valentine going on stage that night and making those comments about womens wrestling, but I’ve always felt partially responsible for that 😂 😬 I even posted about Valentie's comments on the Facebook page...BUT I forgot about the real story behind them until you mentioned it...

BTW...GREAT EPISODE!
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it to Cleveland for Wrestling Geek Fest. We had just moved back to the mainland from Hawaii and our household goods were delivered on the Wednesday and Thursday before the Con...IT woud have been very, very, very bad form on my part had I attended while the house was still mostly in boxes...
After the fact when I told Lori about the event, she said I could have gone...but yeah, no...we all know how that would have worked out for this Guy.

Great con discussions and had done a lot of my own research on places to eat as well and was definitely cross referencing w/ your list of pizza places Sam. Also looking into great Mexican and Korean BBQ is always the top of my list whenever I get back in the states. There is an amazing Korean BBQ place not far from us in Lincoln Square. Saturday nights there's a line out the door... Come to think of it, I've seen a line out the door on a weeknight! Cho Sun Ok is the name. So many great Mexican places too.

Cleveland was a fun time for sure. Crazy trip as usual that year though. What I loved about it was there was no reason to leave the hotel all weekend. All the festivities, food and drink were in one place. I parked my truck and didn’t get back in it until I left on Sunday. I’m hoping this year is similar outside of the wrestling show being Friday night. There's a very similar set up for the TNTHOF in Waterloo. I park my car when I arrive and never use it again, unless I'm making an airport run. It's great when events have everything within walking distance. Same with the CAC when it was at the Gold Coast. One year, we didn't leave the Gold Coast for four days. When we walked outside for the first time, it was like a classic vampire movie scene, with everyone hissing when they went into the sunlight!

That is a definite nice thing about Waterloo. At worst it's like a 5 block walk anywhere we were going.

Doubtful, unless there is just nothing good at the hotel bar. I’m mostly living on protein powder and water these days. My BIL is from Chicago. Did the whole deep dish thing years ago. Was good. Like lasagna. The restaurant/bar at the hotel has a great selection of food, so I think you will be set. For the Saturday lunch at the con I got a taco bar (chicken and beef), with salad and tortilla chips/dip. I figured that could work for almost everyone. As for deep dish pizza, its not a matter of if I will get it while in Chicago, its a matter of how many places I will try. I'm thinking 3 different places over the 7 days. I am a total sucker for deep dish.

I actually got a street taco kit from the grocery store to have tacos for lunch tomorrow, I would eat them for dinner tonight but I am eating at Chickie’s & Pete’s (this restaurant's particular location inside the Sahara was named the #1 sports bar in North America by ESPN) at the Sahara before I go to UWW there.

I finished listening to this episode today.
Galacticon 2015 in Cleveland was the first Galacticon I attended (I have not missed one since) and IMO it was the greatest Galactcion of All Time!
I remember I got to Cleveland a day early and took the train downtown where I got to go to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and then I got to go to a Yankees-Indians game. It was crazy that August night in Cleveland as both the Indians and the Browns (Preseason) had games that night within a couple of blocks of each other.
On Friday, I went with Tournament Master's wife to pick up Greg Valentine from the airport. On the way back to the hotel, I was talking to Valentine about some of his matches and he told me that although some of his matches such as his dog collar match vs Piper get more views he personally liked some of his other matches more including a number of his matches against Tito Santana. For the Friday night AIW show, Tom asked me to work the Filsinger Games merch table and Valentine had his own table right next to the Filsinger Games table and we talked alot during that show including about Seattle since we both lived there at one point.
Although I had previously met a number of people who were there (i.e. Tom, Tournament Master, Rob, Matt, Jim Steel, J, Jack/Louden Noxious, EpicDave) at earlier events, it was great finally getting to meet some people here such as Troy, Osk, JMello, Mike Fortune, Brock, Sickman, Sam Luptak, for the first-time ever at Galacticon 2015.
Getting to see live wrestling events at the actual Galacticon hotel site and running into and conversing with wrestlers such as Eddie Kingston, Moose, Ethan Page, this really was the greatest Galacticon of all time! Thanks to Tournament Master for all his hard work in making that truly memorable event possible! I got alot of cards autographed that weekend including one by Marion Fontaine who had the coolest and most unique merch table design I have ever seen at a wrestling event.
But technically, wasn't Galacticon 2016 the last Galacticon at a hotel since it was at a Philadelphia hotel conference room (just not at the hotel where most of us stayed at, although some did stay at that hotel including I think EpicDave?)
