I bought this 3 DVD set and after only watching 1 DVD I love it. Heck, I was happy I made the purchase after the first match. It was the Machines vs Bundy, Studd and Heenan. One of the Japanese wrestlers was ripping off Hulk Hogan with his Hulk Machine gimmick but it was cool. In the second match Savage defended his IC title against one of my early favorites, Pedro Morales. Semi-spoiler but during the match Savage uses a foreign object on Morales and he feels remorse so he leaves the rings, gets some flowers and gives them to Morales...kinda. Just an FYI, these matches never made it to TV, thus the unreleased, so there is no commentary. It is like watching the matches live for the most part. I mean other than camera changes and shots of the fans. So far most of the matches are star vs star and the ones that are not are of stars before they got there. Like a pre-Blue Blazer Owen Hart and The Dingo Warrior or "Earthquake" Evans in a lumberjack sort of look. If you like old WWF I would recommend this DVD. Entertaining walk down memory lane.

I talked about the greatness of the first DVD. The second was great too but it also had a WTF aspect. I cannot believe what I saw. It was the craziest thing I have seen in a long time. Do you know what it was? You might think you know but I do not think you do. There was a tag team match between two preliminary guys/bums and the team of...are you ready for it...I do not think so...the tag team of...TOXIC TURTLES. Yep, two dudes in Teenage Ninja Turtle costumes. One of them went on to be Gillberg. It was a short match and the fans booed some at one point. There was one spot that was done for comedic relief, and it was cute. The guys actually wrestled pretty good for being in those crazy outfits. Needless to say, it was the last time they did that as Mattel or whoever owned the TMNT rights went to WWF and got them to stop. So, you may have heard of them but unless you were there live...or own this DVD, you have not seen this match. Crazy.

The story of the Toxic Turtles was told on wwe.com some time ago. Duane Gill and Barry Hardy brought the outfits to TV as they tended to do (they were also the Executioners and some other maskes gimmicks). Vince saw them and told them to put them on and be ready for a match.

The third DVD was fun but not as much as first two IMO. It does have a tag match involving Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels...on the same team. Yep, that tagged together. The match focused on both of their strengths. Bret spent most of the match in the ring doing the heavy lifting and getting beat down. Meanwhile, Shawn did all he could to get the attention off the match in the ring and on him be it while on the apron or throwing a fit on the floor. Bret tagged out, Shawn came into a loud pop, hit a few moves, got hit and needed to tag out and Bret came in and won the match. Good stuff.
There is also an early match involving Kip Winchester and Brett Colt better known as The Smoking Gunns. I kinda wish they had stayed with those names. I also forgot how short the cages were for cage matches back then. Diesel, who granted is tall, was standing on the apron and reached up to grab the top of the cage. He was taking on Yokozuna and it was fun watching Yokozuna try and climb out near the end of the match.
Once again, unless someone is selling at a high price I would recommend getting this set if you like late 80's and early 90's wrestling.
