Hi
With all the talk about @kevinb's House Rules (
HERE), I don't remember if anyone ever came up with the "Hot Tag" rule?
I'm picturing it like in wrestling where the Face is getting quite the beatdown, tries to tag out several times and fails, then BOOM! ---->TAG!!
The crowd erupts as the Face partner is tagged in and starts cleaning house!
I'm thinking something like this (this is for a Face-only, since Heels don't do the "hot tag" thing) --
1.) Everytime a Face fails to tag-out when they hit a defensive (tag), then INCREASE the tag-out range for the next time this is tried (keep track of how many times a failed tag-out occurs);
2.) If and when the Face successfully tags out, their partner comes in on the level of offense that equals the number of "failed tag-outs" (thus, the "hot tag")!
So, for example:
Lanny Poffo and Randy Savage are in a tag match against Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff. Poffo misses three tag-out opportunities (hitting "(tag)" on defense but failing to roll within tag-out range each time, even though his tag-out range has increased by one after each failed attempt). On the next opportunity on defense, Poffo makes the tag to Savage!
Savage would enter on Level 3 Offense due to the number of failed tag-outs (three, in this case)!
Thoughts? Too complex? Variants? Has this House Rule been posted before?
I'm going to have to test this out on my next fed roll-out!
