Thanks so much for the well wishes and yeah that was a pretty rough night Friday and taking it easy on Saturday paid off and made the 24 hr travel cycle on Sunday tolerable. Really wish I could have been there on Saturday and Friday night, but alas that just has me looking forward to the next one that much more. Really great to finally meet fellow Filsinger Fans in person and having what I'm pretty sure was my 1st physical play of the game with another human being at GCon and to be honest meeting and talking with everyone adds so much more to the enjoyment of the game and understanding this great community. the_faction, does this mean you are going to be a yearly attender? It was great to meet you in person, and I hope the game recommendations proved beneficial. I wish, it appears it will have to be a 1 year on 1 year off as I had to bargain to get this summer holiday back in the States when the dissenting voters say we could have just gone to Greece... Hard to argue w/ the 1/2 of the vacation crew on that one. Although Shari very much enjoyed meeting and hanging out w/ the crew in Chicago it's a hard sell for a such a long trip when we can be on the Mediterranean in just a few hours flight.

I felt so bad for you having to miss the Hall Of Fame banquet and all of Saturday's festivities. You lived my vacation nightmare: getting sick off of the local food (probably). This is one of the reasons why I'm not a particularly adventurous eater. Lots of bottled water, protein bars, and store bought food for me. Hopefully you can make it next year and don't drink the water in Iowa! That must have been what did it. I've seen those people in action: there HAS TO BE something in the water! Oh man didn't even think about it being the water, but I can't imagine it would have taken that long to hit me as I had been in Waterloo since Thursday afternoon. Understood about be wary about local fare, but I just can't avoid trying the local fare. It's honestly half the fun of travel is trying the local food and drink and experiencing 'hopefully' a great time and something I can't get anywhere else or at the very least back in Denmark. Statistically if I take in all the travel I take and how much I try and experiment I've actually got a really great batting average. It's just the law of averages and if once every 20 years is the result. I like those odds.

I enjoyed listening to this episode. I am sorry to hear about Sam Fain and the_faction getting sick recently, I hope they are both feeling better now. Sam, what was the book about PNW that you bought in Waterloo? I had fun listening to the Galacticon and Waterloo recaps. I regret having to miss Waterloo this year, I hope to return next year but it depends on a number of factors so I probably won't know until next June one way or the other. Looking forward to this week's episode! Yeah it was great to catch up with you in Chicago, Zeke and it was unfortunate you couldn't make Waterloo, hopefully next year!
