The Crimson Cage from AWA Upshot comics. Written by John Lees, Drawn by Alex Cormack and color by Ashley Cormack.
Very good re-telling of the McBeth Shakespeare story, but inside 70's southern small scale territory wrestling as an over arching plot. A little Ric Flair, NWA, murder, betrayal, mildly gory goulash. The basic story is a small time wrestler, Chuck Frenzy, is the big fish in in his little territory that happens to be in Louisiana. He is visited by three swamp women, manipulators of fate, and push Chuck to seize his destiny when the World's Champion comes to town. The rest of the story is a rise to fame and the horrors that come with it.
A very very good wrestling comic created by people that love wrestling. Better yet, easily order able from your local comic shop AND only $9.99 for the full trade paperback. Highly recommended, but understand... the blood it does flow in the book. So, not for the kiddies.
