I know I have been archiving show results on a prior thread...I would like to keep that one around until I get it caught up with where this one is beginning, if the moderators don't mind.
Here I plan on doing a summary of the LWF up to now, and then begin posting cards from where I am currently at in the game.
IN THE BEGINNING...
The LWF formed with a roster of 24 legendary superstars vying for the LWF World, Tag Team and United States titles.
The singles tournament was double-elimination, and Nick Bockwinkel emerged victorious, defeating Buddy Rose, Buddy Rogers and The Destroyer to become the first ever LWF World Heavyweight Champion.
The Road Warriors, perhaps inevitably, were crowned the very first LWF World Tag Team Champions.
"Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers defeated Killer Kowalski, Jimmy Snuka and The Destroyer to become the first holder of the LWF United States Title.
Nick Bockwinkel, Harley Race, Buddy Rogers and Killer Kowalski quickly formed a union that would haunt and terrorize the LWF for some time.
Ted DiBiase acquired the services of King Kong Bundy and Virgil, waging war on The Road Warriors as well as the foreign menace of Nikolai Volkoff & The Iron Sheik and the arrogant duo of Gorgeous George & Buddy Rose.
Showdown at Shea Stadium was the very first LWF Supercard and Harley Race defeat Jimmy Snuka inside a Steel Cage, Nick Bockwinkel defend the World title against Red Bastien, Buddy Rogers thwart The Destroyer in a US Title match and The Valiant Brothers stun The Road Warriors in a Texas Death Match to win the World Tag Team Titles.
Strange bedfellows aligned against Bockwinkel, Race, Kowalski and Rogers, as they had issues with The Destroyer, The Valentines, Red Bastien and Jimmy Snuka, Giant Baba and Bobo Brazil. Brazil and Baba formed a popular friendship that energized the LWF fans.
Johnny Valentine wrested the United States title from Buddy Rogers in a Brass Knuckles Match, only to lose it to Harley Race days later.
The fans roared with delight as Giant Baba and Bobo Brazil won the World Tag Team Titles and Brazil captured the US Title to become the first dual title holder in the LWF.
LWF's Omni Onslaught bore witness to the first Chicago Street Fight, when the unsavory team of The Sandman and Ox Baker beat The Road Warriors in their own match, and Harley Race beat Frank Gotch and The Destroyer in a #1 Contender's Match to face his own tag team partner for the World title in the main event. Race ended Bockwinkel's first World title reign, but just as quickly lost it to Johnny Valentine in revenge for Race's earlier US Title victory.
Dick Hutton became the first newcomer to arrive in the LWF, quickly having issues with Ted DiBiase and Virgil. Killer Kowalski became the third member of the villainous power faction in the LWF to taste the World Title, defeating Johnny Valentine and brutally injuring him.
Giant Baba ended Kowalski's World title reign, and fended off the challenge of Buddy Rogers while Dick Hutton shockingly beat Bobo Brazil for the US Title.
LWF Slamboree saw Dick Hutton and Red Bastien wage war in a classic 2 out of 3 falls match, ending with a Hutton victory and a new respect between the new stars. They shook hands and an alliance was formed. The Road Warriors, once more Tag Team champions, held off Harley Race and Nick Bockwinkel in an epic clash, while Killer Kowalski became a two-time World Champion, defeating Giant Baba in a Steel Cage.
The Iron Sheik stunned Dick Hutton to win the US title, but the most surprising moment was when The Sandman attacked Hutton, and brutally caned Red Bastien when Bastien tried to make the save and in an upset Greg Valentine rolled up Killer Kowalski to win the LWF World Title.
At LWF Face-Off, Frank Gotch joined The Million Dollar Team in a losing effort against Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, Gorgeous George & Buddy Rose and was punished for it when DiBiase ordered his men to attack Gotch and beat him down. Giant Baba, Bobo Brazil, Dick Hutton & Red Bastien fended off The Valiants, Sandman & Ox Baker while Bockwinkel, Race, Rogers & Kowalski defeated The Road Warriors & The Valentines.
Greg Valentine introduced a new manager, Captain Lou Albano. The Valentines then beat their allies The Road Warriors for the World Tag Team titles, when Albano and Greg hit Hawk with a cheapshot. This gave Greg Valentine both the World and World Tag Team titles. Johnny Valentine questioned just what was going on and paid for it when The Valentines defended their titles against The Valiants...a match that saw Greg blast his own father and hand over the belts to The Valiants. Albano and Greg Valentine's masterplan had come together, and Albano had become the manager of champions in mere weeks.
New stars began to emerge at this time...The Killer Bees, Jim Duggan, Mil Mascaras and Don Leo Jonathan.
Bockwinkel's crew interrupted a press conference heralding the arrival of Mascaras and Don Leo Jonathan, attacking the new stars and establishing enmity right out of the gate.
LWF Starrcade saw the debut of Cowboy Bob Orton, who aligned himself with Nikolai Volkoff and The Iron Sheik. Giant Baba won a Battle of the Giants, defeating Don Leo Jonathan and King Kong Bundy. The Sandman & Ox Baker beat Dick Hutton & Red Bastien in a First Blood Elimination Match. The Road Warriors battled Buddy Rogers & Killer Kowalski in a Street Fight that was interrupted by Jim Cornette, Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane who launched a vicious assault on the LWF's Alpha Team. As Frank Gotch was about to finish off Ted DiBiase, Ox Baker came out of nowhere and attacked him to the surprise of everyone, not the least of which being The Sandman. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan stunned Harley Race in a Dog Collar Match to win the LWF United States title. In the main event, a furious Johnny Valentine destroyed each Valiant Brother and Lou Albano to get his hands on Greg Valentine at the end of a Gauntlet. Johnny bludgeoned his son unconscious and stood tall as the new World Heavyweight Champion.
The last show of the year saw Sandman confront Ox Baker and get attacked. Ox officially joined Ted DiBiase's team. Koko B. Ware debuted alongside The Killer Bees in a six-man match and The Road Warriors defeated The Valiants to regain the World Tag Team titles for a record setting third time. Johnny Valentine proved once more that success is fleeting...losing his World title once more, this time to the only member of the fearsome foursome to have yet held the LWF World title...Buddy Rogers.
