AWC Reborn Card 22
The show begins with a talk show in the center of the ring, being hosted by Crush, called “The Crush Minute”. He sits on the folding chair while his guest gets the couch. The guest for this show? The new AWC Heavyweight Champion, Spike. He is dressed in royalty with the championship around his waist as he sits on the couch.
Crush: “Spike, I just wish to be the first to congratulate you on becoming the new AWC Heavyweight Champion. But the whole world’s been wondering. What made you attack Vengeance after the final match, and are the Gladiator Elite still together?”
Spike: “I have been getting those questions from the Aethran people for too long now, so I’ll go ahead and bite. To answer your question, I attacked Vengeance, because he claimed to be the top guy of the Elite. His stubbornness wouldn’t allow him to stay down, even after everything he went through. So I did the work of putting him out of his misery. If he comes back, he better be ready for a war, because it’s what I’m going to give him.”
Crush: “When you put it that way, he did deserve it.”
Spike: “And here’s the next point. The Gladiator Elite is dead! It’s been dead ever since they questioned me! They questioned whether or not I’d be at ringside when I had no obligation to help them with their matches! I did what I wanted, and they couldn’t accept that ultimately, I was the head of the pack. Now look at me, at the top of the AWC. I wouldn’t be here with them constantly on my neck trying to get me to help them. I’m done with it, and I am done with those fools that call themselves “Elite”. I am the only Elite amongst them, and until they can accept that fact, they’ll continue to be lost!”
Crush: “I can’t agree more, Lord Spike. Now, one last question. Your first challenger could either be Ultimatum or Paralyze, with the two of them facing off tonight. Is there anything you wish to say to them before we go?”
Spike: “Paralyze may have beaten me once in the Cosmic Storm, but that was a fluke. It won’t happen again. As for Ultimatum, the moment to try to challenge me, you’d have wished you chose a different hobby.”
Crush: “Thank you guys for watching the Crush Minute. Now let’s get to the action for tonight!”
Spike leaves the ring with his championship as the studio set is teleported away, leaving Crush alone as his opponent, Malice, enters the ring.
Malice d. Crush via Pinfall (FIELDS OF MALICE) SQUASH
It was a completely one sided match as Malice destroyed the little man. Eventually putting him away with the FIELDS OF MALICE.
Thakur and an injured Mayham are talking about Spike’s words and Malice’s return to form when they receive word that it’s time to talk about the next live show on the Aethra War Dome.
As mentioned, Spike will defend the AWC Heavyweight Championship against either Paralyze or Ultimatum. Storm will defend the AWC Women’s Championship against Amazonia the Savage in what many are saying will be an interesting matchup. More matches will be confirmed as time goes on.
The cameras then head to the ring for the next matchup.
Mayhem Unleashed (2) d. Scar (1) via Pinfall (LEAP OF DOOM) 1.5*
It was a back and forth match between the two Aethrans with Scar hitting the DEATH BY AETHRAN early, only to get a 2 count. Eventually, it all comes crashing down when Mayhem Unleashed hits the LEAP OF DOOM to get the 3 count.
After the match, Necro Butcher runs in with a chain, hitting Mayhem Unleashed with the Decapitator using the chain. Necro Butcher beats up on Mayhem Unleashed until Scar gets up. The two of them would team up to beat down on Mayhem Unleashed some more until Scar hit the DEATH BY AETHRAN, leaving Mayhem Unleashed down on the ground. As Scar and Necro Butcher left, medics ran in to get Mayhem Unleashed to safety.
(Mayhem Unleashed is injured for 6 fight cards.)
Thakur and Mayham talk about the match and the brutal attack, with Mayham making the theory that Necro Butcher hates Mayhem so much that other versions of him just blend in. Thakur doesn’t dispute this claim in the slightest.
The cameras then head to the back where Paralyze is sitting in the locker room, this time by himself as he looks at the camera.
Paralyze: “Spike, you betrayed your brothers, and you expect us to just be okay with that? What you did to Vengeance was not befitting of an Aethran. Tonight, I face the Gladiator Hunter. A fine opponent that gave us trouble in the past, but my strength will guide me to victory. When I’m through with him, I’m going to permanently paralyze you.”
The cameras then head to the ring for a tag team match, where Doomsayer is automatically ejected from the match before it even begins. Doomsayer’s team is not happy, but they have no choice but to let it go.
Aethra Supremacy (Overkill (1) & Rumble (2)) d. Evolution (3) & Probation via Pinfall (Deathjump) 1.5*
It was a fast paced matchup with Evolution in control early before tagging in Probation to hit the AETHRAN HONOR on Rumble, only for the smallest man in the match to kick out at 2. He would fight back and tag in Overkill, who hit the DECAPITATOR on Evolution, also only to get a 2. Eventually, the match would see its end when Evolution tagged in Probation against Overkill, only to be countered in an out of the ring brawl and hit with a Deathjump to be put down for the 3 count.
Thakur and Mayham talk about the matchup and how despite the loss, Evolution and Probation worked well as a tag team. Mayham mentions that he hopes that Probation does end us getting the 10 wins, because he wants to see more of this tag team going forward.
As they talked, the AWC Tag Team Champions, Wolf and Massacre walked into the studio, with Mayham being a little concerned. Wolf heads over to Mayham and just gives him a noogie, showing that there’s no hard feelings between the two of them. Thakur laughed and mocked Mayham for being scared, only for Mayham to retort back to saying he wasn’t.
Thakur: “Anyway. Please gentlemen, have a seat.”
Wolf and Massacre sit down at the studio table, placing their tag team championships on the table.
Thakur: “Alright, thank you two for making some time on this show to come out. There’s been a lot of talk about you two as tag team champions, and there have been some people that question how good of a team you two truly are. But so far, you two have been doing good, and we hope it stays that way.”
Massacre: “Well, I can’t say that Wolf was my first plan. Wolf has always been a free spirit amongst the Gladiators, and we were fine with letting him be. That was until my hand was forced by the Rebellion! Havoc and Mayhem decided to overstay their welcome after having already beaten us! We would have been fine with letting it go and just moving on, but no, they decided to attack us after the match, injuring Brute in the process!”
Wolf: “When I saw what the Rebellion did, I couldn’t sit by and let Massacre go in that tag team championship match alone. So I offered to help him, and now we stand here as the tag team champions. While their theories on our synergy aren’t unfounded, I’ve always been willing to help my brothers out when they call. That being said, I know that the Rebellion are currently suspended. A shame, considering that I want to beat them up just as badly as Massacre here does.”
Massacre: “You hear that Havoc!? Mayhem!? We want to fight you! We want to put you two out to the curb for what you’ve done! When you two come back, we’ll fight you!”
Thakur: “I’m certain I can arrange that. They’ll be back on Card 28, so we’ll make that match happen, and if you two are champions by then, we’ll make that match be for the AWC Tag Team Championships.”
Massacre: “Thank you. For now, we’ll be looking forward to our next challengers. Rumble, Overkill, we’ll see you two at the Dome.”
Massacre and Wolf leave the studio as the cameras head to the ring for the next match.
Sly Drury w/Iron Hand d. Solitude (1) via Pinfall (helicopter side slam) .5*
It was a one sided match with Sly holding the offense very frequently, only failing one discus clothesline attempt on Santon, only for Santon’s face rake to get countered. Sly would take advantage of this and keep the match going in his favor, eventually putting Santon away with a helicopter side slam.
Thakur and Mayham talk about the matchup and how Sly looks like a serious threat in the AWC. That’s when Thakur reveals that P12 is set to return on the next card, so the main event of that card will be Sly Drury VS P12 for the AWC Pure Championship. A matchup that many are interested in seeing.
That’s when they receive news of a press conference that went on featuring Category Five.
Category Five: “I just thought I’d take this time to talk to everyone here about my prospects here in the AWC. Last time you folks saw me, I defeated Fist in singles action, proving that I am the best Cruiserweight on Aethra. But I received word recently that my tag team partner, Torment, is coming back from injury. Knowing what I know, I think it’s high time that Torment and I go after those tag team championships, and I want that shot as soon as possible! So Thakur, tell us the news and let’s get to it!”
Thakur then comes out and looks at Category Five.
Thakur: “Quite the bold one, aren’t we? Well, I can’t give you that match right now, because the next shot is already going to Rumble and Overkill of Aethra Supremacy, but I can put you guys in line for a shot down the line. So here’s what I’ll do. At the War Dome, you and Torment can take on the returning Gladiator Siege tag team. The winners of that match will earn a shot at the AWC Tag Team Championships on Card 27, at the Deimos Intergalactic Arena!”
The crowd cheers as Category Five smirks.
Category Five: “Thank you Thakur. I appreciate the opportunity.”
Category Five heads out as the cameras head to the ring for a big number 1 contenders match.
Paralyze (2) d. Ultimatum via Pinfall (PARALYZER) 1*
Ultimatum started the match fast with a running corner splashed, following it up with the Face Remover and locking in STAY AND PERISH. Ultimatum would make the costly mistake of throwing Paralyze out of the ring, allowing the big man to fight out of the situation he was in and hit the PARALYZER to get the 3 count.
After the match, Spike came out in his royal garb, clapping as Paralyze stood in the ring. Spike could be heard mouthing “You ain’t gonna win this championship” towards Paralyze as the cameras went back to the studio.
Thakur and Mayham talk about the quickness of that match and how Paralyze actually has a legitimate shot at winning the AWC Heavyweight Championship. However, only time will tell. With that said, it’s main event time.
Gladiator Storm (Storm (4) & Bulldoze (3) w/Dark Menace d. Amazonia (4) & Thrash (2) via Pinfall (STORM AND SIEGE) 3.25*
It was a great back and forth tag team match between the two teams, with Storm and Bulldoze showing their synergy as a tag team with Thrash and Amazonia showing their prowess to fight through pain. Amazonia and Thrash, despite being on opposite sides so frequently, prove to be a solid force together, but eventually, the teamwork of Gladiator Storm prove to be too much, as they hit the STORM AND SIEGE on Amazonia to get the three count.
Storm and Bulldoze celebrate the win as Thrash looks at Amazonia. Bulldoze notices and grabs Thrash, throwing her out of the ring. Storm stands tall over her challenger come the War Dome, holding the AWC Women’s Championship up high as the cameras fade to black.
The show begins with a talk show in the center of the ring, being hosted by Crush, called “The Crush Minute”. He sits on the folding chair while his guest gets the couch. The guest for this show?
