Hi, newbie here. Been poking around in cotgonline with a starter 2087 set and I've also started looking around at fed ideas. One thing I notice is that some of the results writeups for other feds have "wins by submission"? Is that a new rule added by newer sets? I can't see how I can have that result for a match in 2087... or am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

Not that I'm aware. Interesting idea though.

Thanks for confirming. I thought it was some rules/chart added in LOW or other non-CotG that I'm missing.

It's not a rule for many wrestlers in COTG, LOW, or Indies, but it's something that's added depending on the finisher used. In the handbook, a wrestler who debuts that year (or in the case of 2087, just starts) will have their finisher(s) laid out. Any new finishers via an update will also be described. For example, the MASTERLOCK is described as a Figure-4 Leglock variation, implying that if Thantos wins with the move, he'd win via Submission. The only time this will truly matter is once you get to 2116 (whenever that gets released) or if you decide to start up a federation in 2119.

Or are you saying we're meant to infer from the descriptions of the move themselves? This just came up again because I couldn't wait to break in my 2119 New Beginning fed and The Amazing Mann has that ability "Submission finishers against Amazing Mann become Add 1 moves." I checked and none of the other wrestler cards in the 2119 set seem to have any of their finishers marked as submissions. It could be that I am just missing the sets with where Mann's ability would provide a real benefit? Anyway, for now, until I've seen actual cards noting "submission" or similar on the actual charts, I guess I'll go by the moves' description.

Based on the description of the move in the handbook.
