I am hoping Michigan wins tonight. I expect Georgia to win but I could see them losing and Florida State losing so there would be five one-loss teams who would be vying for the last two spots in the playoffs. That would give the NCAA and pro expanding the playoff crowd ammo in their argument against those who do not want to expand the playoffs. I know it is getting expanded, but I am just saying from an argument standpoint.

There is the first part of the script I predicted. Georgia lost to Alabama. Things will be interesting even if Florida State wins. A bunch of 1 loss teams vying for the 4th seed. If Florida State loses numerous 1 loss teams vying for the two spots. That is if Michigan wins. If they lose it really gets crazy.

It is going to be very interesting to see how this plays out tomorrow morning. Michigan and Washington are both in and I don't see how the Committee can leave out undefeated Florida State. To me it's irrelevant that they struggled against Louisville in the ACC Championship Game. They won the game (with their third string QB), have zero losses, play in a Power 5 Conference and deserve to be in the playoff, and this is coming from a Florida Gator fan! The Texas-Alabama debate is an interesting one. The problem is the wording in the selection criteria that states the "four best teams" get selected not the most DESERVING teams. On one hand Alabama beat the Number One ranked team and two-time defending National Champion. It was arguably the most impressive victory of the season by any team. After that win how can you say that the Tide aren't one of the four best teams in the country? On the other hand Texas beat Bama this year on the road and the head-to-head result has to count for something otherwise why are we playing the games? Of course this would be a much different discussion if Texas and Alabama hadn't played. In my opinion Texas deserves the fourth spot. For me that head-to-head result has to be the tiebreaker. Plus, if Alabama gets left out it's REALLY going to piss off Nick Saban and that's something I'm always in favor of.

I have a bad feeling Michigan will miss out on the National Championship game once again. Alabama is hot and Michigan has been playing good but not great.

Michigan shouldn't be playing Alabama as the Tide are only in the playoff as a beauty pageant contestant. I don't want to go on too much of a rant here like I did in another thread but I hope the Wolverines crush Alabama 95-0 in the Rose Bowl. It will be a mockery and a scam if Alabama wins the National Title this year. Go Blue, Paul supports you.

If they beat up on the Dawgs it will make the board that picked the four teams look foolish. Chop Seminoles Chop.

Next year Michigan plays new Big Team teams USC, Washington and Oregon. For our non-conference schedule we have Fresno State, Arkansas State and Texas. Oh my. They can give up a hard time about two of our early opponents but not the other. Texas is in the playoffs and could end up the champions. We do have the advantage of being at home for those three non-conference games. GO BLUE

HAIL!!! I was scared during the third quarter but we managed to pull it off! My father-in-law is a psycho Michigan fan (like I am with the Lions) and he was losing his mind!
I told my 14-year-old son to enjoy this and that he's spoiled because Michigan will play for a national championship and six days later the Lions are having a a home playoff game! He doesn't know the pain we have all endured, LOL.

As someone who felt Alabama had no business getting into the playoff over FSU I was ecstatic when I heard that Michigan won the game. Great that you were able to enjoy the moment with your son. Best of luck against the Huskies next week.

Point of irony, Michigan won their last national championship after beating Washington in their last game of the season.
