Not a banner night for the champions... Tiger Jr going over against Rude in non-title action was a major upset... And a DQ decision over the Glamour Girls has gotta position Rayne & Greenwald for a rematch.

But, the biggest shocker of all... The Bees defeat the Roadies in an epic, five-star masterpiece... And THEN the tag champs wind up on the losing side of a dark match along with Hot Rod... Those dice must have some kinda plans, my friend... Truly wild!

Thanks for the feedback TTX and Pariah . The TV Taping event has really shook things up. I think this might be the first time I have booked out all the title matches during the loop (except for the Maple Leaf Gardens event).  

Card 60 Memorial Auditorium, Kitchener- June 17, 2023

Disco Inferno v. “Superstar” Bill Dundee
Referee: Morgan Dollar;
Inferno managed to control a majority of the action which did not please the fans. Dundee had his moments and at one point laned back to back double foot stomps followed by a running leg drop. It was the moments when Dundee could target a limb (armlock around knee and Deathlock) that really began to turn the tide of the match. The finish was fast paced. Dundee sent Inferno into the corner with Inferno bouncing out resulting in a collision between the competitors. Dundee regained his feet first and then hit his SUPERSTAR BOMB for the win after 12 minutes. Winner: Dundee **

Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell) v. Love Brothers (“Horrible” Hartford Love & “Rotten” Reginald Love)
Referee: Morgan Dollar;
These two teams put on a tag team clinic for the fans for 21 minutes. Both sides were able to make key defensive tags and utilized double teaming tactics to keep the action going back and forth. The Bees were able to hit their BEE STING bout midway through the match but Reginald Love jumped in to save Horrible Hartford starting a wild brawl. Blair was forced to make the ropes to escape a Boston Crab from Reginald Love. The Bees began to dominate late in the encounter. A KILLER DROPKICK caught Hartford Love flush but he was able to kick out after his brother’s save attempt was blocked. The Bees followed up with a second BEE STING to take the victory. Winners: Killer Bees ***

Magnum T.A. v. Angelo Poffo
Referee: Morgan Dollar;
Poffo avoids a charge into the corner early and rolls up Allen using the tights for a huge near fall. Poffo than hits his finisher NECKBREAKER but Allen just gets the shoulder up. Poffo mounts the corner with the fans roaring but Allen slams him to the mat. Allen comes off the top with a deathjump cross body block for the win after just two minutes. Winner: Allen * ½

Vachons (Butcher Vachon & Mad Dog Vachon) v. The Crusher & Larry Hennig
Referee: Dick Woehrle;
The double teaming tactics of the Vachon kept Crusher in the ring as the Vachons nearly took the victory with a QUADRUPLE FOOT STOMP. Mad Dog Vachon added a Mad Dog Pounce for good measure before Hennig was finally able to get into the action. Hennig battled Mad Dog out to the floor where Mad Dog choked Hennig with his chain! The referee quickly called for the bell after five minutes. Winners: Crusher & Hennig by disqualification. * ½

Tiger Conway Jr. v. Baron Von Raschke
Referee: James Beard;
Conway was overwhelmed by Von Raschke’s brawling from the opening bell and was not able to create any space to use his agility or speed. At one point, Conway Jr. did send Von Raschke spilling to the floor with a dropkick but Von Raschke quickly dragged his opponent outside and smashed him shoulder first into the ring post. This was Von Raschke’s night and he picked up the win after 8 minutes with a back suplex. Winner: Von Raschke *

“Rowdy” Roddy Piper v. Mike Rotunda
Referee: Morgan Dollar;
Piper is not messing around and head slams to mat set up a SLEEPER. Rotunda just makes the ropes but Piper applies his finisher again for the win in under a minute. Winner: Piper DUD

“Wildfire” Tommy Rich v. Iron Sheik
Referee: Joey Marella;
The fans are all over Sheik before the bell. Rich has ringside fired up with his early offensive attack but soon Sheik loaded up his boot and beat Rich into a bloody mess. Rich survived a CAMEL CLUTCH and then mounted a comeback that was cut off by a chair shot from Sheik during a brawl on the floor. Back in the ring, it was back and forth but the blood loss from Rich soon slowed his attack and Sheik was able to get the win with a second CAMEL CLUTCH after 10 minutes. Winner: Sheik ** ½

Canadian Open Tag Team Champions Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) w/Paul Ellering v. Austin Idol & Greg Valentine w/Jimmy Hart
Referee: Morgan Dollar; Dr. Mike Lano at ringside;
It is mayhem before the bell when Dollar sends Hart and Ellering to the back. Hawk and Animal are ready and toss around Valentine. Idol gets into the action and struggles as well. The match spills to the floor and Idol smashes Hawk with his own tag team title belt. Dollar calls for the disqualification after 9 minutes as the fans boo. Idol and Valentine double team Animal for a brief post match attack before a busted open Hawk is able to regain the ring with a chair and break things up. Winners: Road Warriors by disqualification. *

Card 61 London Gardens, London, ON- June 18, 2023

“Superstar” Bill Dundee v. Lenny Lane
Referee: Dick Woehrle;
Good pace to the opening battle between two of the lightweight competitors in the territory. The counters were nearly even as the action unfolded but Dundee was able to work the lower body to slow down Lane and eventually used a SUPERSTAR BOMB to pick up the three count after 7 minutes. Winner: Dundee * ½

Mike Rotunda v. Tiger Conway Jr.
Referee: Morgan Dollar;
This clash of style unfolded slowly at first. When the action went to the mat, Rotunda controlled but Conway Jr. was able to pick up the pace several times to push the match. Rotunda found his shoulders on the mat after a flying head scissors and again after a belly to belly suplex. Rotunda slowed it down again but this time Conway Jr. showed his mat skills with a length drop toehold and a font facelock. A frustrated Rotunda ended up in the middle of the ring and Conway Jr. hit back to back FLYING HEAD BUTTS to get the win after 10 minutes. Winner: Conway Jr. **

Joyce Grable & Joanie Laurer v. Candi Divine & Malia Hosaka
Referee: James Beard;
Laurer overpowers first Hosaka but Divine takes her to the mat with a flying head scissors. That was about it for offense against Laurer who crushed Divine with a POWER BOMB for a two and three quarters count. Grable tagged in and connected with a MIDDLE ROPE DROPKICK for another near fall. A vertical suplex set up a second MIDDLE ROPE DROPKICK from Grable for the win after 5 minutes. Winners: Laurer & Grable *

Larry Hennig v. Mad Dog Vachon
Referee: Morgan Dollar;
The fans are groaning as Dollar tries to give strict instructions to both competitors before the bell. The action was hard hitting but stayed within the rules for the most part. Vachon was able to damage with his Mad Dog Pounce while avoiding Hennig’s finisher. Hennig used his size at times and tossed Vachon to the mat from the top of the corner but was not able to get the pin before Vachon planted him with a match ending PILEDRIVER after 13 minutes. Winner: Vachon **

Magnum T.A. v. Iron Sheik
Referee: Joey Marella;
Sheik was looking to keep his winning streak going but Allen had other ideas. Allen really controlled almost the entire match with the fans cheering each time the Sheik was rocked or knocked to the mat. A BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX ended it after five minutes. Winner: Allen *

Austin Idol & Greg Valentine v. Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell)
Referee: Morgan Dollar;
The Bees use their double teaming to keep the upper hand early but Valentine uses his chops and brutality to get the upper hand on Brunzell. Idol and Valentine work over the Killer Bee but MASKED CONFUSION has the fans roaring and the Bees back in control but Killer Bee #1 cannot down Valentine with a SLEEPER. Valentine comes back and a uses a throat drop on ropes to get the quick Crusher three count after 16 minutes. Winner: Valentine & Idol. *** ½

“Wildfire” Tommy Rich v. The Crusher
Referee: Morgan Dollar;
Crusher tried to push around Rich early but Rich used his speed to avoid and an elbow smash started an offensive attack from Rich that included a series of uppercuts and a piledriver for a near fall. Fist drop lands and gives Rich the impressive win in just four minutes with a rather quick count from Dollar for the second straight match. Winner: Rich DUD

Canadian Heavyweight Champion Rick Rude w/Jimmy Hart v. “Rowdy” Roddy Piper
Referee: Dick Woehrle ; Dr. Mike Lano at ringside
Piper comes out on fire and the fans are frantic. Knee lifts sends Rude to the floor and Piper is out after his foe. Hart tries to get in the way but Piper shoves him aside, grabs his megaphone and smashes Rude with it. The fans love it, the referee does not and the match is over is less than two minutes. Rude and Hart flee ringside with Piper in pursuit. Winner: Rude by disqualification DUD

The fans have no love for either time so when this one ends in less than a minute no one really seems to care. Reginald pins Lane after an ATOMIC DROP. Winners: Love Brothers DUD

Mike Rotunda v. “Superstar” Bill Dundee
Referee: Morgan Dollar;
There were strict instructions for both men before the bell and the action started out as a scientific exchange. Rotunda was the first to cross the line with a thumb to the eye. Later, Dundee was whipped into the post during a brawl on the floor with Rotunda claiming it was an accident to the official. Dundee was busted open but managed to make a comeback with stomps, double foot stomps, and fist drops. Rotunda when into the post and the fans were roaring. It was back and forth and then Rotunda used a vertical suplex for a two count. Rotunda then connected with back to back to back BUTTERFLY SUPLEXES for the three count after 12 minutes. Winner: Rotunda ** ½

Greg Valentine w/Jimmy Hart v. Tiger Conway Jr.
Referee: Morgan Dollar;
Hart and Valentine were all over Dollar before the bell and the official appeared shaken up. Conway Jr. dominated the early action with his speed scoring a pair of near falls. He appeared to have the match won after a FLYING HEAD BUTT but Hart ended up on the apron distracting Dollar which allowed Austin Idol to come out of nowhere and attack Conway Jr. Conway Jr. was more than ready and sent Idol over the rope with dropkick and then when back after Valentine with a second FLYING HEAD BUTT but The Hammer raised his shoulder at the last second. Valentine was able to finally get the upper hand during a brawl on the floor thanks to a chop block. Conway Jr. lost a step from that point but still battled hard. Conway Jr. made the ropes to escape a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK but Valentine used his finisher again after 13 minutes to get the submission. Winner: Valentine ***

Vachons (Mad Dog Vachon & Butcher Vachon) v. Larry Hennig & The Crusher
Referee: Morgan Dollar;
This was a hard hitting wild match from bell to bell that featured plenty of momentum changes and lots of brawling in and out of the ring. Hennig was cut off in the first half of the match and the Vachons worked him over in and out of the ring. Butcher Vachon was particularly impressive but neither Vachon could get the three count. The Crusher lead his team back and soon Butcher Vachon was trapped in the ring for a stretch. The action went back and forth and both sides exhausted their pin save attempts before The Crusher caught Butcher Vachon with a CRUSHER BOLO. Butcher kicked out of the pin but Crusher unleashed a second CRUSHER BOLO after 20 minutes to get the pin. Winners: Crusher & Hennig *****

Baron Von Raschke v. Magnum T.A.
Morgan Dollar;
Von Raschke gets under the skin of Dollar before bell. Allen struggles early on and Von Raschke earn great heat with his brawling tactics. Allen manages to reverse a whip on the floor and Von Raschke goes shoulder first into the post. Allen cannot capitalized however and Von Raschke is back in control. Allen just makes the ropes to escape a BRAIN CLAW. Von Raschke picks up near falls after a running knee smash and a backbreaker drop on knee. Allen draws on the fans support and both men hit a clothesline sending the competitors crashing to the mat. Allen is up first with a BELLY TO BACK SUPLEX but can only get a two count. Dropkicks get another near fall for Allen. The battle goes back and forth and then to the floor. Von Raschke smashes Allen into the ringside table head first and it is enough for Dollar to call for the bell after 15 minutes. Winner: Allen by disqualification *** ½

Austin Idol w/Jimmy Hart v. “Wildfire” Tommy Rich
Referee: James Beard;
The action started before Gary Michael Cappetta finished the introductions with Idol attacking Rich on the way to the ring. Rich was able to turn the tables and Idol when into the post shoulder first. The action entered the ring and Beard was immediately knocked down by a deathjump (7 moves). Idol took over the match and gave Rich a beating. The fans kept support Rich who managed to avoid getting trapped in Idol’s finisher and kept his shoulders off the mat. Rich trapped Idol in a WILDFIRE SLEEPER midway through the match but Idol was able to escape and took over the match again. Finally, Rich found some offense. Fired up punches set up a fist drop. Hart was not able to distract anyone as Rich hooked the leg for the three count after 13 minutes. Winner: Rich **

Iron Sheik v. “Rowdy” Roddy Piper
Referee: Joey Marella;
Ringside was electric for this encounter with Sheik getting booed out of the ring. Piper and Sheik exchanged moves until Piper landed a bulldog and then a knee lift. Sheik escaped to the floor. Piper was out after him. Sheik grabbed a chair but Piper took the weapon away and smashed Sheik with it. Marella called for the disqualification after four minutes. Sheik quickly escapes from ringside leaving a frustrated Piper in the ring with back to back losses. Winner: Sheik by disqualification DUD

Canadian Open Tag Team Champions Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) w/Paul Ellering v. Killers Bees (B. Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell)
Referee: Morgan Dollar;
An epic tag team battle closed out the night. The Champions and Ellering were not in a good mood an intimidated the referee before the bell. The Bees made incredibly quick tags to keep a fresh man in the ring and it the tactic gave them the early advantage leading to a BEE STING on Animal for a one count only. The Bees were not done and they proved time and time again that they came to capture the titles. A hooking clothesline on Hawk from Blair resulted in a two count. Hawk and Animal were able to use their power to get back into the match. At one point, Brunzell was nearly counted out after getting rammed back first into the ring post by Animal. Hawk got caught on the top of the corner and slammed to the mat by Brunzell. The power attack of the Warriors eventually began to wear down their challengers. Animal uses a POWER SLAM on Brunzell but Blair made the save. The Warriors then hit Brunzell with a DOOMSDAY DEVICE after an incredible 36 minutes of action. *****

Great performance by the Roadies and the Killer Bees, delivering another five-star classic... The champs appear to have bounced back from their recent string of setbacks and they are looking stronger than ever.

Dig seeing the Love Bro's in action even though that opener was a dud... Hoping to see plenty more of this GROOVY DUO in the future!

Always great action coming from Ontario. Congrats to Rick Rude on his title tournament win and the feud with Roddy Piper has been red hot.

Very cool to see The Moondogs and the Killer Bees both give the Road Warriors a run for their money. Speaking of tag teams, I LOVE that the Love Brothers have joined the circuit. I'm looking forward to seeing how they fare.

Card 64 Owen Sound Arena, Owen Sound, ON- June 21, 2023

Joyce Grable v. Malia Hosaka
Referee: Morgan Dollar;
Grable took immediate control of this one and eventually tossed her opponent to the floor. Hosaka crawled back into the ring and a middle rope dropkick ended it after just three minutes. Winner: Grable DUD

“Wildfire” Tommy Rich v. Angelo Poffo

Dollar has strict instructions for the competitors before the bell. Rich gets the upper hand and uses a big right hand and later a vertical suplex to gain a pair of near falls. Poffo survives a WILDFIRE SLEEPER. The action goes outside and Poffo grabs a chair. Rich quickly takes it away and smashes Poffo with the weapon. Dollar calls for the bell after just four minutes. Winner: Poffo by disqualification *

Magnum T.A. v. Disco Inferno
Referee: Morgan Dollar;
Allen controlled the action from the bell using running forearms and dropkicks to keep Inferno on the defensive. Inferno takes a breather on the floor but cannot regain any winning form. Allen traps him in an abdominal stretch after 5 minutes for the win. Winner: Allen DUD

Vachons (Mad Dog Vachon & Butcher Vachon) v. The Crusher & Larry Hennig
Referee: Morgan Dollar;
Crusher and Butcher Vachon pounded away on each other in and out of the ring early on. Crusher managed to survive a HANGMAN before storming back with a CRUSHER NELSO and the CRUSHER BOLO. A pin save from Mad Dog kept the action going. Hennig was soon in but found himself in trouble. Mad Dog took over and softened up Hennig until he planted Hennig with a PILEDRIVER. The pin save was blocked and the Vachons took this one after 9 minutes. Winners: Vachons **

“Rowdy” Roddy Piper v. Lenny Lane
Referee: James Beard;
Piper came away with the victory after a SLEEPER after ten minutes but Lane did not make it easy. Lane controlled the early action picking up a near fall after a gut wrench power bomb. Lane managed to find counters at key times to keep the momentum changes and also avoided too much time on the floor. Piper began to press his attack in the later half of the contest gaining near a near submission with a figure four leglock and a series of near falls before locking in his finisher for the victory. Winner: Piper **

Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell) v. Love Brothers (“Horrible” Hartford Love & “Rotten” Reginald Love)
Referee: Morgan Dollar;
Blair looks very impressive against Hartford Love early on but a SLEEPER cannot get the job done and then a BEE STING only gets two and a half. Brunzell continues to control but Love catches him on the top of the corner and slams him to the mat. The Love Brothers are in the match from that point and the action goes back and forth. A double backbreaker catches Brunzell and leads to Brunzell being cut off from his corner. The Love Brothers execute a BODY SLAM/KNEE DROP on Brunzell and Blair’s pin save is blocked giving the Love Brothers the victory after 12 minutes. Winners: Love Brothers ** ½

The fans are all over the Sheik and Dollar attempts to give strict instructions before the bell. Despite the warnings of the official, Sheik sends Dundee into the ring post in the opening moments busting him open. Dundee manages to escape a CAMEL CLUTCH despite the blood pouring down his face. Dundee then gives the fans something to really cheer about when he posts Sheik busting him open. Dundee is fired up and lands a flying fist drop as the fans are roaring. Dundee locks in a Deathlock and Sheik submits after six minutes of wild action. Winner: Dundee **

Canadian Open Tag Team Champions Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) & Paul Ellering v. Austin Idol, Greg Valentine & Jimmy Hart
Referee: Joey Marella;
The early story in this one was Hawk & Animal tossing around Valentine much to the pleasure of ringside. Hart wisely stayed on the apron but eventually Idol was able to get into the match and things slightly evened out. Unlike Hart, Ellering was more than willing to mix it up but soon was cut off from his corner. Valentine scored a near fall after a Valentine Chops and Ellering managed to escape from a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK before tagging out. The action went back and forth but Idol was able to get the upper hand on Hawk using a jumping knee smash to score a near fall before a piledriver was enough to put Hawk down for the shocking three count after 18 minutes. Winners: Idol, Valentine & Hart **
